Welcome to Hutchison Station, our renovated 1890’s train depot. Explore the horse farms, Bourbon trail and central KY while staying on our working thoroughbred horse farm right in the heart of the bluegrass.
Hutchison Station was part of the L&N railroad system between 1890 and 1950 with passenger and freight service between Lexington and Paris. It was the center of the local community and included a post office, 2 blacksmith shops, general store and cattle pens.
Hutchison station is divided into two ground floor apartments. The “Limerick” (named for Lisa’s event horse) has hardwood flooring throughout, 12’ ceilings and is furnished with local handcrafted and antique furniture. The Limerick has two en-suite bedrooms each with a king size bed. The living area includes counter seating for four plus table seating for four.
Hutchison station is approx half way between Lexington and Paris-
• 10 minutes to downtown Paris.
• 15 minutes to the Kentucky Horse Park
• 20 minute to downtown Lexington.

Farm living in comfort!
This historic property has been lovingly remodeled with impeccable quality and taste. We were completely impressed.
The setting is stunning! You can just look out the window and watch the thoroughbreds graze. Our two 8 year old girls loved visiting Lisa's barn and seeing the foals. The donkeys were a hit, too. Easy travel to Lexington, Keeneland, etc.
Great art, fantastic beds, lovely antiques. Cannot say enough about this VRBO! Can't wait to return.
Beautifully appointed and restored historic building housing two apartments in the heart of horse country. Wonderful hosts, personal touches, definitely one of the best properties we have stayed. We definitely intend to return.
We could not have found a better place to stay for a week in horse country. The property has been beautifully redone and more than met all our needs. All the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The beds are really nice. The bathrooms are great and the linens are very nice. The kitchn is completely stocked and very usable. The setting is memorable, with great views of rolling hills and sunrises every morning. Steve and Lisa are great hosts and we are grateful for their attention to detail and for just being friendly and welcoming.
The Limerick was a perfect spot for our stay in Lexington Horse country. We were travelling with our 15 year old horse loving granddaughter. This was a trip for her and all about horses. We visited Claiborne Farm, Kentucky Horse Park, Keenland, Old Friends, WinStar Farm, and Churchill Downs and Kentucky Derby Museum. When we weren't out and about, she spent hours, walking along the fence visiting and talking to the mares and foals or feeding the donkeys. The views are spectacular, and we enjoyed down time relaxing in the yard or in the beautifully appointed unit. Lisa & Steve are very helpful and flowers and cookies upon arrival were a sweet touch. Our stay more than exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend this property for whatever brings you to this beautiful area of Central KY. Our thanks to Lisa and Steve!
Gem of a property matched by wonderfully thoughtful and friendly owners in a superb location--doesn't get any better than this! From the natural evergreen wreath on the front door, to the fresh flowers on the dining room table, to the plate of homemade Christmas cookies on the kitchen counter--nothing could have been more welcoming. The 1890's rural railroad depot has been beautifully renovated, keeping the lovely oak floors and 12-ft ceilings, while providing every modern convenience anyone could wish for. The millwork, from the crown moldings on every ceiling to the six-panel doors--even on the pantry--to the solid oak quarter-round along every baseboard, shows the owners' eye for quality and detail. The wonderful country antiques, the artwork, the custom window treatments, the Turkish-T snuggly throws in every room--every place you looked was a delight. Easy to get to, conveniently located halfway between Lexington and Paris right off the Paris Pike, the home was the perfect starting point to explore the Thoroughbred Center, historic Georgetown, the Kentucky Horse Park, and Kentucky's Bourbon Trail. We'll be back!
I can't say enough good things about this property. Location was fantastic for Lexington. We were there for the Kentucky/Florida football game and everything was perfect. We were so pleased to find camp chairs too that we used for tailgating! Clean and beautifully done. Stars were brilliant at night and we enjoyed a walk by the horses in the morning. Cookies and fresh flowers to top it off. Would definitely stay here again!
Located in the heart of the Bluegrass and surrounded by horse farms we are within easy access to the Bourbon trail and Kentucky horse park.
