About Maryann Wolf

Scottsdale has a great night life. I am an executive with a national healthcare consulting firm. I was originally relocated to Phoenix by my company. My husband and I own a printing business in Las Vegas, so my husband, with our dogs, still live in our home in Las Vegas. We enjoy the activities that both cities have to offer. Our kids are away at college (Hawaii and San Diego). This has given us the time to enjoy ourselves and travel. This gorgeous Scottsdale home was recently fully remodeled to create a cottage look. The furnishings were selected to match the style of the house (since I had no extra furniture it's been fun shopping). It's been designed with comfort and entertaining in mind. Making it very easy to rent it since it is unique. The house is a stopping place for me while spending the balance of my time travelling for work, pleasure, or in Las Vegas.

We searched for a neighborhood with easy access to everything that Phoenix has to offer. Since we are not into track homes, we searched for a custom alternative. This remodeled 1960 home made to look like a cottage fits our requirement of comfortable and unique. The location is 2 blocks from Camelback, making it walking or biking distance to old town. It is close to the Greenbelt and Chaparral park. Saturday farmer's market and the auto show up on Indian Bend every Saturday. Thursday art walk is in Old Town. Restaurants and hiking galore. Talking Stick Casino is only 2 exits away. Love this area. Phoenix is a great city for exploring. We hope to provide you with a great experience in this house during your stay.

This property is very close (1 mile), to Old Town Scottsdale or Scottsdale Fashion Square, and is situated close to 4 major Spring Training complexes (Rockies, D-Backs, A's and Giants) and many of the valley's finest golf courses and resorts. Just 3 miles up the 101 freeway and you're at Talking Stick Casino and Resort. 5 more miles north is the TPC of Scottsdale - home of the Phoenix Open (held this year from January 27 - February 1). The interior is a smartly designed 2200sf of open comfortable living space, with a plank wood floor and cottage design. Cox cable with HBO and Showtime on a 55” Smart TV mounted above a fireplace, and Cox Hi-Speed Internet (with wireless) are included. Cool, modern recessed lighting reigns supreme throughout the entire residence.

We are local to Arizona and needed a spot to stay while we transitioned from one house to another. Upon moving out the owner of this house made a claim to the insurance company for $7200. She encouraged us to have the insurance company pay the claim (lie) if we wanted our deposit back. Upon being contacted by the insurance company we gave them the facts and that no damage was made to the house.

She then replied to us with the following info:

"You registered on VRBO and confirmed with me that you are a renter of 2 adults and 2 young children ("part-time since they stay also with their father"); but 2 college kids and friends also stayed (without permission) at the house smoking and drinking beer (major contract violation that loses the deposit). They also didn't shower going into the spa (another major violation -- posted right on the spa that this violation would cause you to lose your deposit). Gardener found beer, cigarette butts, and multiple cars parked in our drive and on the street (he couldn't park in front of our house because of the cars and could barely squeeze the lawn mower through the cars to the backyard)." Owner

So your college kids stops by to use the spa and has a beer you wont get your deposit back. It also means they are using the camera pointing at the spa. Make sure you are aware that someone is watching you while you say at this house. If you own 3 cars and park on the driveway and street it will be a problem. You are probably not allowed anyone over.

"Dog poop was not routinely picked up creating a problem for the gardener. You were notified of the $25 charge per pile. We were amazed (per gardener) how much dog poop from your 2 dogs you allowed to accumulate and were willing to live with." Owner

We cleaned up our dog poop every week before the gardener came because they threatened us with 25 dollar charges per poop

These are just a few of the many issues we encountered. In addition, there was what appeared to be cat hair over numerous pieces of furniture and we did not feel comfortable sitting on the family room furniture b/c of the amount of animal hair. We were told that $150 was the maximum allowance for the electric bill. Anyone who is familiar with summers in AZ knows this is impossible. She stressed the amount of cars we had on the driveway and street, we own 3 cars and occasionally our college son would stop in, we did not realize the public street was off limits. You are being watched, beware!

Outstanding property! Super Clean, convenient location, quiet neighborhood.

My wife, daughter, son, and I stayed here for four days so that we could participate in a tour of the U of A campus. The house is extremely clean and well equipped. Mattresses are new and the bedding is fresh and clean as well. Very quiet neighborhood and conveniently located to downtown Scottsdale. MaryAnn was very helpful and provided excellent restaurant recommendations. Very quick to respond to any questions I had. Would definitely go back!

Beautiful Home

This was the first time my husband & I rented a vacation home and our first stay in AZ. The owner, Maryann, made the rental process easy (even for a beginner). She responded quickly to my many questions, and was accommodating of our pet. We were welcomed with a beautiful bouquet and a box of candy. The home is in a quiet neighborhood. It was very comfortable, very clean, very well maintained and equipped with everything we needed. The home is close to grocery stores, restaurants, parks, Old Town, Fashion Square, walking paths and a dog park. The outdoor space is great. We enjoyed picking tangerines and oranges from the trees in the backyard. There are two bikes available so you can enjoy the walk/bike trail which is 3 blocks away. I loved the beautiful sunsets over Camelback Mt. We wished we could have stayed longer!

Lovely & Welcoming Home. Best Experience!

This was the first time my husband & I rented a vacation home for a month. The home was exactly as pictured and more. It is within minutes of a grocery store, restaurants, shopping, walking paths and a dog park. The owner, Maryann, responded quickly to my questions, very helpful and accommodating of our pets. The home is very comfortable, furnished with everything one needs, nicely decorated and is in a quiet neighborhood. I would strongly recommend this home to any visitors. Thank you Maryann for this relaxing, enjoyable experience.

Very Pleased with our Long-Term Stay

My family (including two kids and a dog) stayed here for nearly three months while our home was being renovated. We were quite pleased with our stay. The owner, Mary Ann, was a pleasure to work with and made it a point to accommodate us nicely. The house was in great condition and fully-equipped with everything we needed. It is in a nice neighborhood on a quiet street, close to parks, Old Town, Fashion Square, groceries, etc. It's the nicest house on the street, as well. The outdoor space is picturesque and my kids loved picking from the orange trees. My only complaint would be it was a tad cluttered with decorative items, which even put away were apparently broken by my children. I personally would not keep anything valuable or sentimental at a rental property where there is always a risk of potential damage. But overall, this house was just what we needed and I would definitely stay here again!

Since you were the first family with small children AND needed an extended stay (locally), we consider it a lesson learned to totally remove any decorative/accent or even extra pieces that typically turns a cold vacation rental into that "home away from home" experience; especially since you needed to literally "move-in" with crib, toys, etc. Regardless, we feel it was a very pleasant experience and would welcome you back....and even your cute puppy.
