Beautiful timber frame Finley Point home, lake frontage. High speed internet.

Beautiful Timber Frame / Strawbale home on east shore of Finley Point on Flathead Lake, located on Skidoo Bay. 120' of lake frontage with private dock. 3 Bed, 2 Bath, outdoor shower, huge sleeping Loft, Great Room. The main house sleeps up to 8 people. 2 Portable crib available. Two bedrooms have a queen each, one with a pullout couch. One bedroom has a twin, full bunk bed. Loft has additional area for sleeping with a futon couch/bed. There is an additional sleeping loft above the garage that can sleep up to 8 additional guests. The downstairs of the garage has a full bathroom and open area with a ping pong table. The timber frame was constructed from fir and larch that was harvested to build an apple orchard on an adjacent lot. The straw bales were bought from a local farm and the home constructed during the course of a year with help from a stawbale workshop. Curious about timber frame or strawbale homes, come vacation in one, and enjoy the lake and all the recreation that western Montana has to offer.
Walk down the trail off the porch to a beautiful pebble beach. There are 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards and a canoe to use to get out onto the crystal clear water. Neighbor, when there, has an easement for access to the beachfront as their house sits on a cliff.

Absolutely wonderful house and location

We loved our stay at the strawbale house. The house was very comfortable for our family group of 12 and well equipped with everything we needed. Lots of fun activities to enjoy! Lake access and paddle boards, kayaks and canoes were great. We are ready to come back ASAP!!!

What a unique place in a beautiful setting! Online pics don't quite capture how spacious this timber frame home is. The hosts provide everything you need for an amazing lake vacation. Definitely recommend! Thabkbyou, Mara!

Finley Point Family Reunion

We had a great time at the “Hay House.” The house is nice and open. The kitchen is well stocked (they even have a coffee grinder). The area is quiet and the views of the Mission Mountains are great. This is the second time I have had my family here and there will definitely be a third!

The home was wonderful. It is set up perfectly for families and friends. There is plenty of space for everyone in our group. The lake access was very nice. The hike to the lake was steep, but not too bad. It was great to have access to the canoes and kayaks. The owner was easily accessible and easy to communicate with. We had a wonderful vacation.

A lovely visit w gorgeous views

We brought our family of seven and there are many options of things to do just staying at this well-equipped house. The views are gorgeous and they thought of everything a family would need to enjoy themselves in this gorgeous area of Montana. Very spacious and cozy. We hired guides to teach us how to fly fish, went atv-ing in the back country, visited and hiked Glacier, enjoyed many state parks, canoed and swam, enjoyed a fire on the beach and soaked up the serene surroundings. We saw snakes, deer, many birds, an eagle and two black bear in the area around the house. Highly recommend for some peace and quiet. Enjoyed huckleberry scones at Lake Side Bakery in Polson…a must for breakfast…lots of yummy choices. Thanks for a wonderful and memorable vacation.

Not clean

The kitchen was not cleaned prior to us arriving which was very disappointing. This was not a one time forgot to clean this was an accumulation. The oven was so dirty I would not cook in it, there was popcorn butter all over the inside of the microwave, the toaster was not good. There was leftover coffee in the coffee pot. I actually thought maybe we got our days wrong and someone was still staying there. There was a leak from the upstairs down into the laundry room to the point there was puddling water. We also battled ants to the point they were crawling on us on the couch. I am sad that this happened because the concept and location are so beautiful. For the amount of money charged for this home and the cleaning deposit, I would expect this home to be clean. I took picture when we arrived and communicated with the owner. She was responsive but only insisted it was clean despite the information I shared with her. I have picture I can share but I don’t see an option To do that here. If the home would have been clean it would have been a 9 star stay. Beautiful location, beautiful home, but cleanliness killed it for us

What a great place!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Finlay point! Aside from the gorgeous surroundings the house was very well equipped and had plenty of room for our group of 11. The beachfront was a perfect spot to relax and play the day away. We are already plotting our return!!!

Beautiful Lake Getaway

We had a wonderful stay on beautiful Flathead Lake. The accommodations were great- love the character of the strawbale home. We used the dock, kayaks, and paddleboards daily. Had a lakeside fire and watched the moon rise over the mountains several nights. Went for bike rides with the cruisers provided. Ping-pong, puzzles, card games were enjoyed. Property is close to Polson so we could run in for groceries, meals, and shopping. Enjoyed a river rafting excursion with Flathead Rafting out of Polson. So much fun!

Beautiful Flathead Lake

View from the house is gorgeous……the house was lovely, 9 in our group, plenty of room. My grandchildren loved the loft and they had me playing ping pong every night! The house is very well equipped with everything one would need, including the canoe and paddle board at the dock, which was used every day…..we rented a boat in Polson and spent a day exploring Wild Horse Island, and just being on the water!

This was the perfect property for my family for a week of fun at and on the lake. The views are incredible and we had great fun swimming, kayaking and canoeing from the dock. The house is very well appointed and the kitchen has everything you need. I mad a rib dinner for 14 and we were able to fit everyone on the beautiful deck to enjoy it al fresco. Beds were super comfortable and fans worked well to keep the house cool even in high heat (the design of the home has much to do with this). I would definitely choose this property again. Als, Mara (the owner) was very helpful and kind. Everyone in the family (even those staying elsewhere for the week) loved the property. We had three children ages 2 and1/2 to 9 and all three were sorry to go. So much to do, so many fun activities for all.

Paradise on Flathead!

We are repeat customers! This property is gorgeous, generously stocked with everything you would need and want for a lake vacation. A perfect summer getaway for family and friends

The hill down to the lake is steep, but well worth it for the physically fit! The water is clear and the view is unparalleled. Kitchen is well equipped and there are toys, books and games galore. The home itself is charming and obviously a labor of love, which gives the whole place a great vibe.

Our place is great for larger groups due to the separation between the house, the garage, and the beach. There is something to do for everyone. Quiet dirt road good for kids to bike without the traffic. Lots of games (ping pong, horse shoes, kids bikes, etc) along with water toys. Flat grassy area by house nice for eating or playing. Amazing views in all directions.
