The area had a power outage when we checked in so no electricity for a day. There were no scissors in the house. A bigger TV in the living room would be good.
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home! We loved how the house overlooked all the amenities, tennis courts, indoor pool, gym, and we enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake. There was something for everyone in our family at Rumbling Bald Resort (2 teens and a 12 and 9 year old, and grandparents). We enjoyed day trips to Asheville and Chimney Rock. Our children enjoyed playing outside and we all enjoyed walking on all the beautiful walking trails and down to the lake beach. The staff at the resort were very friendly and we will definitely be back to stay here again. Thank you!
We rented the Poppi's Wood House for a quick getaway. The house was huge. It's a bit on the older side, but was very well kept. It was very clean and had everything we needed. No Bugs or weird smells at all. Very close to the beach, but as many other houses around the lake it sits on a steep hill, so we needed to drive to the beach and pool. Which are only 10 seconds away so you can definitely walk to those. Also, this house is located a bit back from the shore, so you can't really see the lake because of the trees. Maybe you can when the leaves are gone. But we enjoyed the mountain views a lot. The TVs in the house were on the smaller side, but we didn't watch much TV anyways. The TV and internet worked very well while we were there. Overall, very nice and well kept house on a beautiful resort location with many things to do close by. Thanks to the owner for sharing this property. We would like to be back in the future.
Home to annual Lake Lure Olympiad triathalon and Dirty Dancing festival- celebrate the movie at local venues that hosted filming of the cult classic and see the movie on the (really) big screen at Lake Lure Park (10 miles south).
