|Property type||chateau / country house|
|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
Located less than 2 miles from downtown Forestville and approximately one hour from the Golden Gate bridge, this spacious country house is centrally located between the lower Russian River with its many recreational options and the vineyards and wineries of the Russian River and Green Valley AVAs. Other Sonoma County AVAs, the Pacific Ocean, and Sebastopol are all within a 30-minute drive.
After a day of exploring all that West Sonoma County has to offer and perhaps visiting a farmer's market to obtain locally-grown ingredients, relax poolside and enjoy your own home-cooked meal using the facilities of this home's spacious, gourmet Kitchen.
Besides the Poolside Patio, there's an upper Back Deck adjacent to the Kitchen overlooking the pool where you can prepare a BBQ meal using the Weber propane grill. There also is a Hillside Patio on the far side of the pool, as well as another Patio in the Front Yard.
All the recreational facilities on the property make the Wine Country Hideaway ideal for family or friend gatherings. In addition to the onsite swimming pool, the property has a Bocce Ball Court, a half-court Basketball Hoop and a full badminton court. Or just relax on one of the two Balconies overlooking the Front Yard, with a view of the unspoiled vistas.
The interior amenities include two Master Bedroom suites, one with a Balcony overlooking the Front Yard, a king-size bed, a stone-lined stall shower, and a luxurious jetted bathtub; the other opening onto the Front Patio with a queen-size bed and a full on-suite Bathroom. The third and fourth Bedrooms both contain queen-size beds and share a common, third Bathroom. The downstairs Family Room features a 42in. flat-screen HDTV with DirecTV satellite service. The upstairs Living Room features a wood-burning fireplace, a 52in. flat-screen HDTV also with DirectTV service, a Balcony overlooking the Front Yard, and a Dining Area adjacent to the Kitchen.
Furnished with many modern conveniences in a peaceful, rural setting, your Wine Country Hideaway truly "has it all"!
Please Note: The Swimming Pool is solar-heated only between April 1 and October 31 annually. Since there is no backup heater, Mother Nature is the sole arbitrator of water temperatures.
Two HDTVs with DirecTV satellite service, DSL high-speed Internet with Wi-Fi, fully-stocked Kitchen, Weber gas BBQ grill, several Patio areas, and a solar-heated swimming pool make entertainment and staying in touch easy.
Sleeps 8 (including all children age 3 and over) in 1 king-size bed and 3 queen-size beds. The maximum daytime occupancy also is 8. Off-street parking for 3 vehicles. Sorry, but no pets and no smoking, indoors or outdoors.
This property was a warm & inviting place to stay for our group. The weather was spectacular & made being outdoors on this beautiful property or one of the lovely decks very enjoyable. The gardens are beautiful & the quaint seating areas a great place to enjoy morning coffee. The home had everything we needed & then some! The owner even went out of his way to mail us some info on the local wine scene. The pool also is a great bonus! This home is in a great location & access to anything we needed wasn't an issue. Highly recommend this property & appreciated Jim's hospitality & prompt communication with us!
We rented Jim's place as an anchor place for wine tasting. Situated just outside Forestville it was easy access to not only wineries, but restaurants and a great hiking trail. We found the house well stocked for the Chefa in our group and with basketball, pool, lovely gardens and bocce ball, we found ourselves wanting to hangout instead of wine tasting. We did hike to iron horse (3 miles one way) and brought back libations and eats from the local grocery store.
We loved our weekend getaway at this charming and tranquil home surrounded by beautiful vegetation and wonderful views out every window. The grounds are spectacular and we took advantage of the warm weather by sitting outside in the well appointed gardens. Jim is a very hospitable owner and he communicated well with us to ensure we had everything we needed for our weekend vacation. The wineries are close and access to activities in the area was easy!
Great communication from the host and beautiful home with lots of amenities. The valley in which the home sits is beautiful and you'll feel removed from it all, but will marvel at how close you are to everything from river activities to wine country.
My friends and I spent a long weekend at Jim's house just to get away from the city and get some sunshine and pool time! The house was perfect - it allowed us all to get some quality time together and really catch up over cooked meals and a good swim. The house is really close to the small town nearby, and to a great bike/walking path.
Jim was super responsive and a great host!
My family and I stayed here for a long weekend for a wedding and tastings.
Marvelous house in a great setting: isolated and quiet but easy access to many fine vineyards.
The house has great amenities: pool, bocce, badminton and then lovely gardens, decks and patios to rest, relax and sip the local wines.
Jim has everything set up so arrival, living and departure are easy and simple. Highly recommend!
