About Rita Rans
I've lived in New Orleans for 15 years and love my new hometown! I moved here from Indiana where I ran a vintage clothing store, used record shop and then worked in a battered women's shelter.
Rita Rans purchased this Apartment in 2001
Why Rita Rans chose Faubourg Marigny
I chose to live in this area because of the wonderful mix of neighbors and the closeness to the Quarter where I can walk to Mardi Gras or walk through the centuries old village on a quiet, misty morning. Many wonderful and talented artists, musicians, and other eclectic people live in the neighborhood making it an always inspirational place to visit or live.
What makes this Apartment unique
There are many wonderful and relaxing ways to enjoy the guesthouse and yet be a quick walk to great bars and restaurants. During Mardi Gras, you can step out on the front porch to watch the pop up parades.

Beautiful, Cozy & Charming - & in a Great Location!
This wonderfully cozy and charming Shotgun Style home helped make for an unforgettable first trip to NOLA for my husband and I. Rita was very accommodating and easy to work with, which only enhanced the stay!
The location of this property was great. It was an easy walk to the French Market, Frenchman Street, and Bourbon Street - which all provided beautiful sights of the city along the way! There is a little corner store (Mardis Gras Zone) just about 3 blocks from the property, as well as a few bars and restaurants.
We could not have been happier with the property and our stay, and will certainly be booking with Rita again should we ever find ourselves back in this beautiful city!
A really lovely place to stay, and handy for walking to everything you might want to see and do.
Wonderful stay again in the Bywater
This is our fourth stay at this quiet little hideaway and it was just as restful and fun as the other trips. We love this place and have two more trips reserved this coming fall and spring 2019. The location is close to all of our favorite spots. Elizabeth's for breakfast, Royal st. and Jackson square for great art during the day and Frenchman street for great food and music in the evening. Thank you Rita for another great stay in our home away from home.
Rita has a lovely place in the best part of Bywater. Sheets and towels impeccably laundered and folded, the place was spotless, toiletries, cold water , coffee and half and half all there when we arrived. Short walk to coffee shop, restaurant, Frenchman street music scene, and the French Quarter. We had a wonderful place to stay.
Great location- retreat away but still very walkable
We enjoyed our stay here- cozy and comfortable. We walked everywhere! The WiFi can be spotty but otherwise everything was great!
Great stay in Marigny...
Our trip to New Orleans was fantastic, in part by the beautiful, comfortable and stylish home that we stayed in. Rita was very gracious and helpful... we enjoyed our stay with her and plan to go back as soon as possible! This historic shot-gun home in the Marigny/Bywater area was close to everything we needed (walking distance). The neighbors were friendly (as was everyone we met!). We experienced a wedding "parade" from the corner church/wedding facility down the street in front of her home. Between Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street and even the St. Patrick's Day parade that was held one block away, I can't say enough about how much fun we had. Renting this beautiful, comfortable apartment (the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in...) was the best decision I've made concerning traveling in a long time. You won't be sorry if you rent with this apartment from Rita Rans.
Within walking distance to the French Quarter, approximately 10-12 blocks.
