'Les Olivettes', is a spacious Provençal farmhouse located just 700 yards from the centre of Lourmarin, widely considered one of France's loveliest villages. This elegant, comfortable house offers a peaceful, rural base for touring Provence and is uniquely well-placed for exploring this wonderful region. Our guests, many of whom come back year after year, love the atmosphere, and the local knowledge and advice that we provide.
Les Olivettes has spectacular village and mountain views, and yet is only a five minute walk from the many shops, restaurants, galleries, and cafés that help make Lourmarin one of the most sought-after destinations in Provence.
For many years this house belonged to a wealthy Parisian surgeon who used it as his country retreat. We restored it with the help of a professional interior and it has a warm and gracious atmosphere. There is an olive grove, a large swimming pool and ample gated parking.
Each suite has a queen-size bed (some canopied or four-poster) along with a mixture of antiques and contemporary furnishings. The pool, the olive grove, the Mediterranean herb and flower gardens and sculpted fountains all combine to create a harmonious and restful atmosphere.

A center for fine dining, Lourmarin has more than fifteen restaurants, including two of which are recommended in the Michelin Guide: "Le Moulin", which belongs to Edouard Loubet, and Reine & Nadia Sammut's 'La Fenière'.
In Lourmarin there is a remarkable Renaissance château to visit, and great opportunities for hiking, biking, and other outdoor activites. The village is ideally located in the Luberon Natural Park, within easy reach of Aix, Avignon, Arles and the world-famous antiques centre of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
Other nearby favorite attractions include the hilltop villages of Gordes and Roussillon, and the working Cistercian Abbey of Sénanque with its famous lavender fields.
By the way, we specialise in stays of at least one week. We feel strongly about this. You can think of it as quality time - more restful and more fruitful than moving on too often. Since Lourmarin is well-placed for visiting most of the sights in Provence, our guests often get to see more than they would if they traveled from one town to another, spending time packing and unpacking and driving. And they also find that Lourmarin itself, although small, has a lot to offer by way of restaurants, shops and art galleries - just five minutes' walk from Les Olivettes. Many of our guests tell us how much they appreciate coming 'home' after a day's touring, and relaxing on the terrace with a glass of wine and a beautiful view, before strolling into the village to have dinner.
The layout at Les Olivettes makes it a perfect haven for families or groups of friends to get together, with plenty of shared space. However, each individual suite is large, and has its own terrace and kitchenette. Our guests love being able to hang out together, while retaining their own independence.
Each spacious suite has an en-suite bathroom, and there is a further half-bathroom off the kitchen.
The kitchen is large and well-equipped, and gives onto the common-room with its cathedral ceiling, dining and sitting areas, and immense picture window. There are also plenty of opportunities for al fresco dining, with three barbecues, and plenty of space to set up our folding tables by the pool, on the boules court, or under the olive trees.

About Elizabeth DeLiso
We lived in the Luberon for.....sooo many years. Twenty-seven to be exact. In fact, our daughter who is just about that age now was born here. So was our son, Pierre, who is now 23 years old. Anyway, we love life in in Lourmarin. There, we eat well, drink good wine almost every day and have made lots of wonderful friends from all over the world running Les Olivettes.
Elizabeth DeLiso purchased this House in 1999
Why Elizabeth DeLiso chose Lourmarin
We were so lucky to be able to buy this house! Les Olivettes has two remarkable advantages - it is within easy walking distance of our favourite Provencal village, Lourmarin, and yet has spectacular views of the village itself (officially classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France), the Luberon hills and the chateau. Plus, with its large swimming pool, our 80+ olive trees and the multiple terraces scattered around the property, it is a real haven of peace.
What makes this House unique
The beauty and timeless charm of the Provençal countryside and a uniquely attractive village. And the combination of elegance and comfort that make Les Olivettes a very special place.

Beautiful accommodation in a lovely part of France
Les Olivettes is beautiful and very comfortable. It is set in gorgeous grounds and in very close proximity to Lourmarin which is a delightful village with wonderful restaurants and shopping.
We did reservationin 2016 for another two weeks of holidays in Les Olivettes ,unfortunately we had to cancel it because of health problems
During two previous years my husband and I stayed several weeks in “les Olivettes “We could not imagine finding better accommodation with preserved “Provencal touch “combined with comfort required for short holidays . The picturesque house is located among olive orchard with small parking attached .
We stayed in room Genet and Le Pastis ,both having terraces overlooking distant chateau and houses and gardens of little town of Lourmarin . The rooms were provided with kitchenette and small fridge ,with small supply of dishes . Outside the room there is a lounge with comfortable sofas and Nespresso machine .The breakfast was delivered by Mr Deliso bringing in the basket fresh croissants and baguette .arriving on the bicycle every morning .
We spent our days swimming in lovely lap pool or going to the town to buy English newspaper or provencal specialities .In Lourmarin one can find several small restaurants and wine stores and once a week a farmers market is held in town which is pure delight in browsing among local food and crafts . There is variety of sightseeing trips available : St Remy ,Le Baux, and fabulous town of Gordes with lavender fields on the way . The Luberon Massif is close by and one can feel of “Toujours Provence “so well described by Peter Mayle.
All delights of “Les Olivettes “ were result of wonderful care and hospitality of owners Elizabeth and Joseph Deliso who could not be more helpful and friendly .
It is necessary to mention that the car is absolutely necessary
A very special place.
My wife and I just completed a 10 night stay at Les Olivettes and it was everything that we expected and more. Our room (Le Pastis) was spacious and the view from the terrace of the village and chateau was spectacular. Our room was adjacent to the common room where we could easily get the delicious espresso and croissants every morning. We used the town of Lourmarin (it is the prettiest of all the villages) as a central base to explore the many areas of interest in Provence and returned to Les Olivettes in the late afternoon so we could enjoy the comforts of the farmhouse and the beauty of the grounds. In the evening, it was a short five minute walk into the village where we had dinner at the many restaurants.
However, what really made Les Olivettes special was our hostess, Elizabeth. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to meet Joseph who was in the United States at the time. Elizabeth is a delightful person who is warm, charming, and gracious. She made us feel at home and was so kind to answer our many questions with keen insight of the places that we wanted to visit. She always went the extra mile to make sure that our stay at Les Olivettes would be a memorable one and she succeeded in doing so.
We look forward to our next trip to Provence and our next stay at Les Olivettes. We would not even think of staying anywhere else. Les Olivettes est magnifique!

Our first visit to the Luberon area was fortunately centred on the charming village of Lourmarin, and we were delighted that our accommodations in the beautiful grounds of the "Olivettes"turned out to be a most judicious choice. Not only was the location very practical, but the various apartments, including the "Zidane" where we stayed, were comfortable, well-appointed and adequately furnished. On top of all this, we were very pleased with the warm welcome of the owners, Joe and Elizabeth who went out of their way to make our stay most enjoyable. We look forward to another visit in the future.
