Why Mary chose Mid Island

This property has all the things we were looking for in a vacation home. Private street, private canal access for kayaking and fishing. Easy walk to the Gulf of Mexico beach access. Convenience to all attractions on the island. We walk or ride our bikes to every place we want to go on the island. We live on a very quiet street, away from the busy Estero Blvd traffic sounds.

Perfect Hide Away

Our stay was very relaxing and rejuvenating in this quiet neighborhood beach home. The view of the canal and the short walk to the beach was excellent. Quick three minute walks to the beach to enjoy the water or watch the sunset was a plus. When we wanted action we were minutes away from restaurants and the beach with walking or riding the bikes.

The owners had recently laid new wood flooring throughout the home and the master bathroom offered a remodeled large shower and vanity. The linens and bedding were quality and the furniture was modern and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with the necessary tools so we were able to prepare our meals easily. Close to Publix and CVS within 3-5 minutes was a BONUS.

The bikes, kayaks, toys for beach play, chairs, umbrella and wagon for towing all supplies to the beach was also a major plus to our stay. Everything was easily accessible and made for a successful experience.

Mary, the owner, was very helpful and answered any questions before the stay. We will definitely book this home again!

Perfect Beach Getaway

This beach house offers just about everything you need for a Fort Myers Beach getaway no matter what type of traveler you are. It is located 2 blocks from the white sandy beaches and rests right on one of the famous Fort Myers canals. The restaurants and bars are a walk or bike ride away, or you can easily call an Uber or taxi. The location is close to stores (7-11, CVS, Pubix) to run errands and get your groceries. The house was equipped with all the essentials (kitchenware, towels, laundry, grill). They have plenty of beach toys to share, beach chairs, and at least half a dozen bikes. You can fish right off the private dock and you can even take the two kayaks out for a paddle in the canal. The upstairs appears to have new beach wood floors throughout the second level, and the master bedroom shower appears to be recently renovated, its beautiful! This beach house is perfect for families, a friendly group getaway, or even a romantic retreat. The owners are super helpful and will accommodate all your needs. I can't wait to plan another trip and will definitely use this property again.

Perfect location !

Stayed with young children. Home had all the amenities we needed -- kitchen necessities to cook meals, blankets and towels, water jugs to refill at the store, beach chairs and toys, and bikes!

We brought our own bike trailer for the kids and were able to bike everywhere we needed to go! Biked to and from the beach multiple times daily, biked on the beach during low tide, to Publix for groceries, 7-11 for ice, CVS for supplies, and Pinchers for happy hour ! The location could not have been more convenient !

The house is comfortable and homey. The upstairs is living area and downstairs only storage for bikes/gear and laundry. We enjoyed the deck for breakfast and the yard for grilling and relaxing by the canal while fishing. Didn't get a chance to explore the canals on kayak due to the weather during our stay .

Neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Loved how short the walk/ bike ride to the beach was.We will definitely be back to this spot - it couldn't be better for our needs :)

Family Christmas Retreat

We truly enjoyed our time in this cozy beach cottage just prior to the Christmas holiday. The bikes were a huge hit for zipping over to the beach. We enjoyed how quick we could be on the beach - 3 minutes or less by bike - that's on the beach sitting in your chair enjoying the view! All the necessary beach items were available for use, which was so helpful when flying in and being limited on what we could bring.

The kitchen was nicely supplied for our cooking needs. Towels and linens were a nice quality as well. We even saw dolphins swimming in the canal behind the home.

Our small children used the inflatable bed and thought it was the best thing ever -- it would be very suitable for an adult couple as well. It was large and was almost the height of a regular bed.

Our children loved fishing off the dock. I was too chicken to kayak or let them, but the kayaks looked much larger than I anticipated and very sturdy and safe.

We plan on returning in the future to enjoy some more R&R in a beautiful location! We look forward to seeing the continued updating that is occurring to this hidden gem!

Private Dock, Kayaks, Bikes, Amazing Quiet Location!

My family and I (twenty-something couple and 3 year old) stayed for 7 days and had an amazing experience! They had bikes, kayaks, beach towels, sand toys, beach chairs and much more for us to use. The beach is only a 5 minute walk and the beach cart is awesome for hauling everything. Pinchers beach bar is a close bike ride as are several other restaurants, shopping and a marina. The owners were amazing to work with and had just installed a new refrigerator, so that was a plus! We will definitely be staying here again!
