My wife & I, with my son & wife with 3 grandchildren (10,18,21yr). The grandchildren fished, drove the golf cart around the property. We arrived Sunday and rested. Monday we went to water country USA. Tuesday it was over cast so we went shopping in the area. Wednesday we went to Busch Gardens. (Both parks we had great weather). Thursday we went out to the local eateries. Bottom line, we all had a great time!! We had good conversations with Sam & mark. Would like to do it again.

We had such a wonderful time at this home! Our week was the perfect combination of relaxation, history and fun at the parks. The kids liked the place so much they decided not to go to the parks one day so they could chill around Jameslin! :)

Thanks, Sam and Mark, for providing such a wonderful vacation and being such welcoming hosts!

We would recommend this house without hesitation!

A wonderfully relaxing place, we loved it.

This is a wonderful location to just relax and enjoy nature. My husband and I went there for a week with my 14 yr old grandson, my 9 year old granddaughter, and a friend of hers. The kids loved fishing in the pond. The pond/tiki bar area was our favorite place to hang out. Just a very short walk from the cottage, like across the yard. The river is behind the main house, just another short walk across the yard in the other direction. We enjoyed sitting on the screened-in porch in the mornings and evenings, and there's a great place just outside the cottage to build a fire in the firepit and sit around in the evenings, which were pleasant even in July. Lots of historical stuff to do in the area within about a 30 minute drive (Jamestown, Yorktown, and Colonial Williamsburg). I took my girls to the beach at Goucester Point 3 different days (about 15 minutes from cottage). It's easy to get to and a great place to spend a few hours if you kids enjoy swimming. We mostly ate at the cottage as they have everything you need, and a grill. But we did go out to eat twice, once to Olivia's and once to Scoot's BBQ. Both are owned by the same people, who Mark and Sam recommended. EXCELLENT food both places! Wonderful seafood and the BBQ was awesome! Can get seafood both places. We caught several blue crabs at the pier behind the house, but I was too uncomfortable to try and cook them myself (you have to boil them alive)!!! Sam and Mark were actually on vacation themselves, but I know had they been home, they likely would have cooked them for us! My grandson took his own fishing equipment, but they also have several rod/reels at the pond. My only suggestion, if you have younger kids, is that you plan to purchase a cane pole for them to fish with worms and bobber. The open faced reels are a bit of a challenge for the kids, so you spend a lot of time untangling "bird's nests". The pond is "catch and release", but the kids absolutely love catching the fish, and I can't describe how relaxing it is to sit on the deck by the pool and watch them fish into the evening. Also, if you're a "water" person, they have canoes, kayaks, and a flat bottom boat that are available for use. We didn't end up doing this since we're not very experienced. But if you are comfortable with boating, and have life vests and all that, you could literally spend the entire week at the cottage and have plenty to do right there. I highly recommend it!!!

This quaint little cottage back by the water was comfortable and quiet. Plenty of room for 6!

We just loved it! Perfect and close by everything we needed. Fishing pond entertained everyone for quite some time, even caught a few! We were all very comfy, had plenty of TVs to watch for differing tastes, and full size washer and dryer came in really handy! Sam and Mark were really great hosts! We'll probably rent again! Thanks so much!!
