Wat een prachtige accommodatie in deze rookvrije accommodatie is een volledig bakstenen boerderij aan de overkant van de rivier de Piankatank met een fantastisch uitzicht en toegang tot een klein zandstrand. The River House is 2000 sf en biedt plaats aan maximaal 10 gasten. Geniet van de kano, speel een paar ping pong, ontspan in de serre, ga vissen of doe helemaal niets! Breng uw jetski of boot mee als u die hebt, want er is een gemeenschappelijke boothelling op minder dan 1/4 mijl afstand. Slaapkamer nummer 1 heeft een queen size, slaapkamer nummer 2 heeft een volledige en een stapelbed, slaapkamer 3 is de master met een koningin en een eigen complete badkamer. De keuken heeft alle Cherry-kasten en roestvrijstalen apparaten. The River House heeft centrale verwarming en lucht, evenals gloednieuwe dubbelhangende ramen. De eetzaal heeft een geweldig uitzicht op de rivier met een erker die River Breezes kan binnenlaten!
Vergeet niet de beste kamer in het huis aan het einde ... The Sunroom; ideaal om te ontspannen, een film te kijken of een dutje te doen!

Yorktown (Riverwalk Resturant is daar onze favoriet) 36 min; Urbana (Urbana Oyster Festival is 2-3 november 2012) 34 min; Gwynn's Island (Gwynn's Island Festival 28-29 juni, 2013) 24 min; Deltaville (Cocomo's Resturant) 22 minuten; Mathews Courthouse (Mathews Market Days 7-8 september, 2012) 20 min; Ons favoriete aardewerk is The Poddery (eigendom van en beheerd door Robert en Karen Podd) in Foster 14 min; Gloucester Courthouse (Daffodil Festival 6-7 april, 2013) 20 minuten. Holly Hill Antiques op Route 14 - 11 minuten; Mathews Courthouse heeft elke zaterdagochtend een boerenmarkt in Main Street. Favoriete supermarkt - Food Lion in Mathews Courthouse. Favoriete verse groenten -Ware Neck Produce in Gloucester Courthouse. Wijnen komen van Kelsick Specialty Market in Gloucester CH (ze bestellen ook elke gewenste wijn). ABC-winkels in Gloucester CH, Mathews CH en Deltaville. De beste gefrituurde zeevruchten zijn Seabreeze op Gwynn's Island. Dichtstbijzijnde pizza - Stan Strings - Cobbs Creek 10 minuten. We houden ook van de Crazy Crab Resturant in Reedville (1 uur).

Hidden gem in a secluded part of VA

This was the perfect home for our family who was visiting Deltaville for a memorial service for our grandfather. Everything was great and the house was clean and well appointed.

Lovely Stay

We were in the area for the Tour de Chesapeake in Mathews, and this house was just a short drive away. The description is spot on. The house is large with plenty of space for guests to spread out if needed. The interior of the home was super clean and well stocked. There are ample linens, towels and kitchenware, and there are a number of games. We really enjoyed playing ping pong and looking out the window at the water. The place is very private and quiet.

Family Wedding

Absolutely wonderful layout for family. The space is very open and inviting. House supplied nicely with linens, kitchen supplies etc. Very nice water access for kayak or canoe. Can't wait to go back.

Nice house with lots of room

This is a very nice house with a lot of room. We enjoyed the tiny beach area across the street. Unfortunately there was a lot of jellyfish so no swimming. The only thing that was a little weird was the abandoned house right behind us with 4 strathehouse with 4 stray cats.

We came to Gloucester to help a friend out- and a few of us went to the quilt show in Hampton. House was perfect size for 6 adults to stay. Waking up seeing the river was a great start for the day. House was clean and as advertised. We will stay here again!

Perfect for a Williamsburg getaway

The place was perfect for us. It was close enough to the theme parks while far enough away from the main tourist areas to experience some local flair. I loved sitting on the side porch in the evening and listening to the frogs.

Family getaway

This was a great place to meet up with family to enjoy a few days together. The house was well stocked with what we needed to just visit and be together. A very remote area but not a difficult drive to sight see and find things to do in Yorktown, Jamestown, VA Beach and Williamsburg.

Peaceful

We loved the house. It had a nice view of the river and was located in a very quiet and peaceful area. It was nice to be able to go out and do all the touristy things and then be able to come back and relax at the house. It had everything you would need and we cooked out on the grill a few times which was nice. The owners were very helpful when the power went out and kept us updated when it would most likely be back on. I would definitely recommend this lovely home for anyone planning on visiting the area.

Great Getaway

The River House Getaway is a fantastic location with beautiful views of the Piankatank river and lots of space. The house was clean, stocked with towels and linens and kitchen cookware we needed. The hosts were great to work with! We really enjoyed our stay there.

Beautiful home away from home

We had a great family stay at this property on the York River. Great early winter view. This property is great for large families/family gatherings even in the winter. Could use some sugar/coffee in the kitchen & more detailed description as where to dispose of our trash at the end of stay. We highly recommend this property, can only imagine how much nicer to stay during the summer.

Great Family Hideaway

This was our first experience using VBRO and it did not disappoint. There was plenty of space for the six of us to enjoy a well furnished home. The homeowner was very responsive to our needs and insured that we were comfortable. If the opportunity presents itself again, we would definitely come back.

Something about being away from the City lights really can do wonders for the soul! We have enjoyed the River House for several years now and hope you find it as relaxing as our family does!
