Clean, Cute and Comfortable pet-friendly Tahoe vacation rental This remodeled cabin is situated in a friendly neighborhood on a quiet cul-de-sac on the west shore of Tahoe City less than a mile from Sunnyside.

Tahoe Woods is a classic mountain cabin offering a light, bright common area situated upstairs and all three bedrooms on the first floor. The open great room features vaulted pine ceilings, recessed lighting, a river rock gas fireplace, and a sunny deck with a private hot tub, BBQ, and dining set.

Ideal location for both summer & winter activities, hiking & biking trails just behind the house to National Forest and 2.5 miles from Tahoe City and close to ski areas, shops and restaurants.

ABOUT THE AREA
Conveniently located three and a half miles south of Tahoe City on Lake Tahoe's west shore, you'll find the quiet residential neighborhood known as Talmont Estates. Just up the hill from Sunnyside and the Tahoe Park HOA beach, the Talmont neighborhood offers easy access to Paige Meadows and miles of back-country which is popular for hiking/biking in summer and cross country skiing/snowshoeing in winter.

Access to the Lake Tahoe Park Associate HOA beach offers an escape from summer crowds and the convenient location means you'll never sit in west shore traffic. The Tahoe Park beach offers over three acres of lakefront enjoyment with two piers, a playground, basketball, bocce ball, volleyball, and picnic areas.

During the ski season, you are less than fifteen minutes from Homewood Mountain Resort. Or travel to Palisades Tahoe (formally known as Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows) which is the largest ski resort in Lake Tahoe. Palisades Tahoe has a shuttle that runs continuously between the base area of Olympic Valley & Alpine Meadows when both resorts are open for operations, weather, and traffic permitting.

The space was ideal for our stay. We enjoyed the adjacency of walking trails and the peace and quiet of the location. The house was well stocked with cooking supplies which allowed us to cook for ourselves for the duration of our stay.

Close to private beach, great with kids!

We loved the proximity to the Lake Tahoe Park association private beach which is with great for families with young kids (and very easy to launch kayaks and paddle boards from). The house had everything we needed and we really enjoyed relaxing on the deck and hot tub. Can’t bet the summertime in Tahoe!!

Great family trip to Tahoe. This house was in a great location and access to the private beach/dock was key. Comfortably fit our family of five and two labradors. Will definitely book here again.

Very nice

We really enjoyed our stay in this nice clean roomy home. Spacious kitchen with lots of counter space. Great location, private beach area and easy access to trails. The only problem some might have are the high beds. It wasn't a problem for us but if my parents were there I know that they would have had a hard time getting in and out of bed.

Spacious House, Great Location

We stayed here with my husband, our toddler, and my mother-in-law for 5 days. We loved the location - really quiet neighborhood, easy access to the bike path and Tahoe city, and access to the beach HOA is a must for us. The house is a little dated, especially the bathrooms. But there was plenty of space for all of our stuff, the bedrooms are roomier than most in the area, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make simple meals at home. Would stay again.

This property is very spacious. Upstairs family/living room, dining room, kitchen is wide open and very comfortable. Bedrooms were as described and comfortable. Since they are downstairs, they are a bit dark and some more lighting would be good. A few of the lamps were broken. The carpets on 1st floor are badly stained. The deck and deck furniture need a good scrub or power wash. The refrigerator was leaking water from freezer into the refrigerator. I did inform Tahoe Getaways and hopefully that has been repaired. We did enjoy our stay here.

Disappointing

The neighborhood was really nice. The commuication with the property management was good and check in was easy. We were very disappointed in the conditions of the house. The deck was dirty. Thecushions had food on the outside couch. Cobwebs everywhere. The benches and outside chair and ottoman was very worn. The carpet had holes and stains as well as the kitchen table. It was very disappointing for us. We stayed 2 nights to attend a wedding and picked this place because of the location to the venue.

Minor improvements would go a long way toward a higher score

The service from Tahoe Getaways was perfect. The location of the home is outstanding with beauty surrounding you. The access to the Tahoe Assoc beach was terrific. The home itself really needs some TLC -- nothing major -- but needs attention to turn this from a 3 star to a 4 star. The master bedroom's bathroom has a broken toilet seat (or at least it must be tightened), a broken toilet handle and a broken toilet paper dispenser. All easy fixes. One of the bedroom door jams -- easy fix. The carpet downstairs should either be replaced or completely removed. A chair on the deck was completely broken and the stairs to the hot tub should be looked at. The refrigerator has some sort of water leak in the back and the freezer needs to be scraped of ice at the bottom. The screen for the deck door is broken at the bottom and falls off the tracks regularly. Again, all easy fixes to make this place much nicer.

The house was in a good location, convenient to Tahoe City, restaurants and ammenities like bike rentals and trails. The house more or less had what we needed, but could use some maintenance (to the wood in many areas), and some general updates to TV's and internet connection was very slow and spotty. All in all we would stay at this home again!

405 Tahoe Woods - A disappointment

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We chose this rental through VRBO for location and amenities, specifically pet friendly, wi-fi, Hot Tub and the overall look of the rental according to the website. Upon arrival, surface cleaning looked OK, however there was rodent "poop" upstairs in the kitchen, the hot tub was disgusting with a brownish scum around the water level and the water was cloudy, the downstairs rugs were stained, the entry level rug smelled like urine and the back bathroom had a moldy odor about it. We never used the Hot Tub and as this home has virtually NO cooking supplies, it was a miracle that we brought along the basic supplies. The staircase to the upper level (cooking and living area) are very steep. This is not a home for a family with small children or those with physical challenges. Upon leaving and stripping the bedding, I noticed the mattress was very stained. An additional note, is that I was charged an extra $135 from Home Away even though I went through VRBO and Tahoe Property Management for this home. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
