Riverside Mountain Getaway is a three-story, 1100 sq. foot, beautiful home overlooking the Rocky Broad River (unfinished basement). The home is located about 35 minutes southeast of Asheville, North Carolina and about 10 minutes north of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, North Carolina off of Hwy 9.
Guests find much needed relaxation sitting on our porch or on the 'sunning rock'. Children and grown ups enjoy the Rocky Broad River's little rapids and wading area. Soak up the sun or read your favorite book and allow the stress of everyday life to fade away.
You will find all the comforts of home in our cozy, warm, living room with Spectrum high speed fiber optic internet, gas log fireplace, dining area and fully-equipped kitchen on the main floor. An intimate bedroom with queen size bed and full bathroom open off of the living room. Be sure to take a look at our pictures!
A second master suite hosting a king size bed and sofa is located upstairs with a smart TV.
The master suite opens into a foyer where there is another sleeping area. A twin bed and reading nook are in the upstairs foyer. A second, large bathroom with tub and shower open off of the foyer.
Call or email if you have questions. There are many fun things to do while staying at Riverside Mountain Getaway!
While staying at the mountain home, sun yourself on the big rock or 'rock hop' in the river via the staircase off of the driveway. Float down the rapids to the big bridge. Maybe you like to fish? Fish just off the driveway in the Rocky Broad River. Or maybe you need some quiet time, just you, your loved one, sitting on the porch or on the big rock soaking your feet in the refreshing river. Sit and listen!
Parking: There are two places to park at our home. We recommend using the Primary Parking Spot which is marked with a “guest parking sign.”
Primary Parking Spot: We recommend using the flat parking spot diagonal across the street. It is marked with a “guest parking sign.” It is located about 20 yards from our front door next to our neighbor’s road that goes up the mountain to their house. It is perfect for cars, low-clearance, rear-wheel and front-wheel drive vehicles.
Driveway: Be sure to look at the driveway prior to using it to determine if you have the ability to navigate it. It is steep and makes a sharp curve from the road. There is no room to turn around in the driveway so you will need to either back down it or back out of it. There is a blind turn at the top of the driveway requiring that you have momentum due to its steepness and curve. As you exit the driveway, we recommend having a second person stand at the top of the driveway to ensure the road is clear. A 4-wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle can stop before the turn to ensure the exit is clear. Other vehicles will require momentum while turning to reach the roach. This can be challenging when back up and turning at the same time and is not recommended. Guests assume full responsibility if they choose to use the driveway. The driveway is not recommended unless you have a 4-wheel or all wheel drive. We suggest using the primary parking spot.
ALSO PLEASE NOTE: There are stairs to access the house. From the roadside there are stairs down to the roadside entrance. From the driveway there is a staircase from the basement into the main living area. Please refer to the pictures.
CELL PHONE RECEPTION is not good at the house. Enable Wi-Fi calling on your phone to make calls. There is also a land line and the phone number is 828-348-9413.
Email is the best way to contact the property manager.
