Very Private Sandy Beach Breathtaking Views from Living Area and Large Balcony
Our cottage has a beautiful private sandy beach with lots of seating and toys. Our cottage is ideal for 6 but has had up to 11 with enjoyment for all. For sleeping we have a QUEEN SLEEP NUMBER BED in main bedroom (sleeps 2). There is a double bed with a twin top bunk in lower level bedroom with another twin under the double bed (that room will sleep 4) plus another all purpose room/bedroom with twin trundle bed (sleeps 2). For added measures with larger groups we also have 2 futons (sleeps up to 4 and a cot (sleeps 1).
Amazing view in the main living area. Galley style kitchen including cooking utensils, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, refrigerator/freezer and coffee maker. Table sits 6 comfortably with two tables on deck and picnic table outside. There is also a table at the deck on the beach with a large awning for shade.
We have a charcoal grill for guest and there is a cooler down at the beach for guests as well.
The deck has a fantastic view with seating.
There are lots of toys for the little one down at the beach.
For the adults there is a canoe, 2 kayaks, paddle board, and blow up float toys. (To be used at your own risk of course.)
This cottage is our happy place.
We waited our entire lives to find this home on Crystal lake. It was built by a student of Francis Lloyd Wright and you can see it in his attention to detail and love he put into this house. When I walk into this cottage my troubles just seem to melt away from my shoulders. I can breathe easier.
I wake up in the mornings and have my coffee on the peaceful balcony and watch the quiet, calm lake and just breathe.
I make a pitcher of iced tea and take it out to the beach along with my favorite book and read until the sun tells me it's time to jump in the lake or float on my float tubes. I usually end up in the kayak or on a paddle board watching the sandy bottom go by and counting fish.
When we start to get hungry we bbq on the grill. In the evening we light a fire in the chimnia and make smores as we watch the sun set. Then we search for constellations and count shooting stars. Our beach is pretty private so I usually end up sneaking back into the lake for a midnight swim to cool down. Then we go sit in the balcony for a late night glass of wine. We go to bed and get lulled to sleep by the lapping of the lake on the shore line.

What makes this Cottage unique
When I stepped into the living room and saw the wall of glass overlooking the lake I knew this was our home. It has the wood functionality my husband wanted and the views of the lake and private beach I needed. I just have to take a deep breath of relief each time I get to stay there. I love the whimsy of the spiral stair case and the glow in the dark star stickers on the ceiling as i fall asleep. I love going to sleep to the sound of the gentle sound of the water reaching for the shore. My stress melts away there. The cottage has a washer and dryer so i don't have to lug our clothes around. I can see the lake while i do dishes - making even the chores easier. The basement has two large doors that open up under the veranda so even on a a rainy day you still get to enjoy the outside and we love to watch the storms come in. There is plenty of outdoor seating and an awning to protect you from the sun and help you keep cool. There is even a place to hang your wet towels at the beach.

Booked off-season for a last minute getaway w family. The property was as described, very clean and well stocked. The owners are very responsive to texts and we had a wonderful stay. The stars out at night are breathtaking and the water is indeed crystal clear. Would love to do this again when it is warm!!
Thank you so much. It means a lot to us that you enjoyed your stay and we are looking forward to your next stay with us ;)
Great location for a relaxing getaway!
We booked this lake house as a late summer getaway and it was really such a perfect spot for our 'babymoon'. The house has all the amenities you could possibly need, and the private beach area is perfect for swimming, lounging, campfires, and late night stargazing. Great biking and hiking trails nearby, as well as easy access to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, etc. Highly recommend!
We loved having you as our guest. Please come back again and bring your little one. Remember this is a great spot to make family memories. ;)
We just had a house full of 6 adults and two 4 yr olds a 7 month old a 20 month old and a 8 week old (grand total 11) plus 5 other adults visiting on continual basis and it worked out wonderfully!!!
We made some carished family memories. We will always be here for you too.
Had wonderful stay we specially enjoyed the outdoor spaces & the very well-equipped beach area.
We enjoyed a wonderful four weeks here a cool respite from the heat back in Indiana. We especially enjoyed the decks and the well-equipped beach area. Our kids and grandchildren really enjoyed their week with us. We loved cycling around the lake and over to Frankfort. Looking forward to our return next summer.
Loved the house and the lake.
We had a really wonderful week. There were some cooler days, but the house is super close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Frankfort so we went exploring. When it did warm up the small private beach area was ideal for splashing and sand castle building with our 2 year old. The owner, Meg's hospitality was second to none. You can tell she wants you to enjoy your stay by the way she goes the extra mile with little extras. We would happily return just maybe a little later in the season! :)
Beautiful, clean, and well appointed lake house.
The views are awesome. The beach is top notch--has everything you would want to play and relax on the beach.
The house is unique and beautifully decorated, very clean and has beautiful views of the lake. Really nice deck to relax on also.
The kitchen had everything we needed to create meals all week--and again with a view of the lake!
The owners were readily available to recommend local activities/restaurants, and to ask questions during our stay.
First class lake house, we definitely recommend it!
Thank you so much. We are looking forward to your return.
Enjoyed our Stay at Crystal Lake Rental #759323
What a great vacation! Clever use of space kept the property comfortable and practical while allowing 4 adults and 4 kids to have plenty of room. Beautiful view from the deck and from the main room + kitchen. So even when you are inside, you can see the Caribbean blue waters. The beach layout in my opinion was one of the very best on Crystal Lake's that I saw. Water depth was gradual and safe for children. The water was amazingly clear with visibility of at least 20 feet. Closely located to Frankfort, Point Betsie Lighthouse and Sleeping Bear Dunes and other fun things. The owner was a truly nice person to deal with who takes pride in her property which was clean and welcoming. Highly recommend this property, our family had an A+ vacation. Loved it.
This cottage gets lots of sun light throughout the day. My worries just melt away from me when I'm there. Our beach is pretty private so I have no worries there either. I can just relax. It's about 7 miles from downtown Beulah and 9 miles from downtown Frankfort. Where you can enjoy the theater, dining, fishing off the pier, dock or charter boat fishing. Frankfort has lots of activies going on art and craft fairs, farmers markets, car shows, book sales, fall festival. I love to walk they long beach in Frankfort and watch the sun sets. The Bestie Valley trail is where I ride my bike and/or walk. It starts in Frankfort and is paved/packed dirt all the way to Beulah and beyond. There are lots of wild animals and ponds on the trail. There are tennis courts and a playground at the park and new skate park. Lots of rivers near by to fish in. My favorite is canoeing or tubing down the lower Platte which is about 10 miles away. Don't forget the Cherry Bowl drive-in theater and diner. There are local wineries and breweries to have lots of tastings. On the rainy days I love to go antiquing at the local antique stores as well as go shopping on the streets of Beulah, Empire, Frankfort and Glenn Arbor which are all beautiful short road trips down (the last three) beautiful scenic M22. Also Crystal Mountain For their trails activities and golf.
