Great cabin on the lake!
We had a great time at the cabin. The lake is beautiful and the cabin provided everything we needed!

Can’t say enough about this property! The house is adorable, you are right on the water and the owners are so thoughtful & accommodating!! We will def. be back again!
Thank you so much. We can’t wait for your return. The cottage will be ready for you.
Even better than last time
The lake is incredible and the cottage/property is even more impressive. Noticed some significant upgrades from last year, which means they are investing in their guests' experiences. Hope to be back.
We loved having you stay with us. We can’t wait for your return.
We will be back. Took a few days to relax and be with family for dads 65th Birthday. He caught his personal best for Smallmouth and we all had a great time in the house.
Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us. You were fantastic guests and we can’t wait for your return.
This cottage gets lots of sun light throughout the day. My worries just melt away from me when I'm there.
Our beach is pretty private so I have no worries there either. I can just relax.
It's about 7 miles from downtown Beulah and 9 miles from downtown Frankfort. Where you can enjoy the theater, dining, fishing off the pier, dock or charter boat fishing.
Frankfort has lots of activities going on art and craft fairs, farmers markets, car shows, book sales, fall festival. I love to walk along the beach in Frankfort and watch the sun sets.
Sleeping Bear Dunes is a short 20 mile drive down sceinic M22 from the house. They have lots of beautiful trails and you will want your camera for that trip.
Traverse City is about 40 miles from the house. With all that a big city has to offer, but don't forget the National Cherry Festival in July and all those wonderful concerts.
Interlocken Arts Academy is about 15 miles away and has concerts all summer long.
The Bestie Valley trail is where I ride my bike and/or walk. It starts in Frankfort and is paved/packed dirt all the way to Beulah and beyond. There are lots of wild animals and ponds on the trail.
There are tennis courts and a playground at the park and new skate park.
Lots of rivers near by to fish in. My favorite is canoeing or tubing down the lower Platte which is about 10 miles away.
Don't forget the Cherry Bowl drive-in theater and diner. There are local wineries and breweries to have lots of tastings.
On the rainy days I love to go antiquing at the local antique stores as well as go shopping on the streets of Beulah, Empire, Frankfort and Glenn Arbor which are all beautiful short road trips down (the last three) beautiful scenic M22. Also Crystal Mountain for their trails activities and golf.
About Meg Hubbard
I was born and raised in Benzie County. My husband and I had an adult foster care home -Frankfort Senior Care Home- with 12 elderly clients living with us. I took care of people for nearly 25 years. We currently own Bayshore Tire and Auto in Elberta. We don't get much free time but we spend all the free time we can get on Crystal Lake.
Meg Hubbard purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Meg Hubbard chose Beulah
This cottage is our happy place. I love how easy it is to get to everywhere we want to go. All the attractions are close by and easy to get to. We waited our entire lives to find this home on Crystal Lake. It was built by a student of Francis Lloyd Wright and you can see it in his attention to detail and love he put into this house. When I walk into this cottage my troubles just seem to melt away from my shoulders. I can breathe easier and even sleep better. I wake up in the mornings and have my coffee on the peaceful balcony and watch the quiet, calm lake and just breathe. I make a pitcher of iced tea and take it out to the beach along with my favorite book and read until the sun tells me it's time to jump in the lake or float on my float tubes. I usually end up in the kayak or on a paddle board watching the sandy bottom go by and counting fish. When we start to get hungry we bbq on the grill. In the evening we light a fire in the fire pit and make smores as we watch the sun set. Then we search for constellations and count shooting stars. Our beach is pretty private so I usually end up sneaking back into the lake for a midnight swim to cool down. Then we go sit in the balcony for a late night glass of wine. We go to bed and get lulled to sleep by the lapping of the lake on the shore line.
What makes this Cottage unique
When I stepped into the living room and saw the wall of glass overlooking the lake I knew this was our home. It has the wood functionality my husband wanted and the views of the lake and private beach I needed. I just have to take a deep breath of relief each time I get to stay here. I love the whimsy of the spiral stair case and the glow in the dark star stickers on the ceiling as i fall asleep. I love going to sleep to the sound of the gentle sound of the water reaching for the shore. My stress melts away there. The cottage has a washer and dryer so i don't have to lug our clothes around. I can see the lake while i do dishes - making even the chores easier. The basement has two large doors that open up under the veranda so even on a a rainy day you still get to enjoy the outside and we love to watch the storms come in. There is plenty of outdoor seating and an awning to protect you from the sun and help you keep cool. There is even a place to hang your wet towels at the beach.
