Pele Noe is a stunning retreat mere minutes from Volcano Village and Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Nestled into a very selectively cleared native Ohia Lehua forest, everything from the site plan to the layout of the house was carefully designed to maximize your enjoyment and relaxation during your stay.
There are many private and comfortable leisure spaces - beginning with the cozy front lanai by the door. Or you could relax on the first of many daybeds near the front windows. Stoke up the fireplace and curl up with a good book in the chairs nearby. The spacious open kitchen makes it easy to grab a quick snack without having to separate yourself from the rest of the family. The extended counter is a convenient place for a laptop if you simply must do a little work while you are here.
Just down the short hallway from the main living space is the first bedroom/bathroom combination. The bathroom is accessible from either the hall or the bedroom. The bedroom boasts ample closet space and the large laundry area is just across the hall for convenience.
Stepping out the back door you come to a fully covered walkway/lanai that connects the main living space to two separate master suites. This covered lanai space is surrounded by the native forest and the sounds of birds (some of them endangered) can be heard as you sit at the picnic table and tell tales of Pele, Maui, Hi'iaka, Kamapua'a and other legendary demigods of old Hawaii. As the pele noe ("Pele's mist", for which the house is named) surrounds you, you may even feel transported back in time.
The two master suites at the end of the lanai are like mirror images of each other. Each has a full spacious bathroom, a generously sized bedroom, and plenty of storage for your clothes and personal items. The large windows look out to the private gardens full of Ohia Lehua, Hapu'u ferns, and the native plants for which the Volcano area is known.
