About this property

Homestead Hill is a small ranch home on Thacher Winery's 23-acre estate vineyard just minutes from downtown Paso Robles, coastal towns, and over a hundred wineries. Each of the three bedrooms are simple and clean. The home is located on a working vineyard and is ready for your family or small group of friends to enjoy and relax. Depending on the season, you may see tractors or harvest crew; however, work in the vineyard is necessary throughout the growing season. This house has great views of the coastal mountains, is immaculate and private, and is exclusively used for vacation rental purposes.

The full kitchen is modern and equipped with a six-burner range top and warming drawer, GE double ovens, microwave, gas grill & propane, Bosch dishwasher, coffee maker and grinder, and milk foamer, as well as a French press. It has all the prep, serving, and tableware necessities to prepare and serve meals.

Step onto the covered patio and enjoy your meals and some of the wines you collected during your stay. The view from the chairs around the fire pit is best (with plenty of firewood). There is also a bonus room, hidden upstairs in a stand-alone structure perfect for a good book or a movie night for the kids.

This vacation rental is a licensed business within San Luis Obispo County, owned and operated by Land Grant LLC. Thacher Winery & Vineyard Inc. farms and manages the 23-acre ranch and vineyard. No smoking or parties are allowed anywhere on the property.

Another wonderful stay!

We were so happy to be back at this property. My children would ask us often when we would go back and our trip was just as magical as the first time. The owner is so easy to communicate with, the house had everything we needed and then some and the property is beautiful with stunning views and so much for kids to keep them entertained. We are so thankful for such wonderful hospitality and such a gem of a rental. We will be back soon!

Wonderful house in a vineyard!

We celebrated my brother's 91st birthday with local friends and relatives--kinda like an old folks home gathering! The house is better stocked than my own home! And everyone marveled at the view of endless vines on rolling hills. A truly enjoyable few days! Richard Proctor

This was our 2nd time at the Thacher property and despite the rainy weather it continues to be such a relaxing and special place. Quiet, superb views, excellent accommodations, and so close to everything. We will be back!

Cottage stay

Very nice stay. I would emphasize road ingress/egress as limited to normal clearance vehicles. Had I brought my Cayman S, I would not be able to navigate those roads up to the house. While I understand the nature of deferred maintenance, I do see the place getting tired. Some would have no objection but another few years of normal wear and tear on exterior landscape and surroundings may be more than you can manage with a rake and some labor. The landscape blocks are getting displaced by roots and erosion. The irrigation lines are exposed in areas which may be due to erosion or just light scale repair efforts. We did love the place regardless and imagine putting $100,000 into labor and material to bring it to a better condition is a big ask. However it would bring you better rates I believe. We plan to come back in two years and would book your place again. But I wanted to offer some candid feedback as I would want to know what my guests thought about the facility. Lovely time and spectacular location and setting. Merry Crstmas and Hapoy New Year!

Another Awesome stay!

Three couples stayed - this is our fourth stay - and had a great time. Love the wood burning stove and the ample supply of weed. Kitchen is great for cooking with a large group.and property is gorgeous, relaxing view. It’s a way off the beaten path but that’s what is so great about it for us. Not to far from anything but real close to other wineries if you want to be

Premium Passo Robles Experience

Thatcher Vineyard Retreat is the ultimate getaway in a beautiful area. The contemporary ranch style home is beautifully appointed with everything you need for a marvelous stay in Passo’s wine country. Michelle, the owner, is very accommodating and welcoming. She even offered to have groceries delivered to the house and hosted us with a lovely wine tasting at their Thatcher Winery. We had a wonderful time! Thank you Michelle!

Wine country parsdise

Beautiful property close to Downtown Paso but very much in the countryside and away from it all. Clean and modern vacation home with outside amenities to enjoy the vineyard on the property. Michelle was great and communicated with us to make sure we had everything we needed before we arrived. Would highly recommend this property - we intend to come back!

Fun weekend at Thacher property

We had a great time at the Thacher property over a long weekend. There was plenty of room inside and out to lounge around and enjoy each other's company. The view from the property was beautiful, and we made great use of the fire pit out front. The kitchen had a lot of space and wasn't missing anything in terms of dishes, utensils, etc. An all around great experience and we would definitely stay here again.

Amazing views

What a beautiful property! The house was super clean and stocked with all the essentials. Check in was very easy and the vineyard views were my favorite part of our stay. The furniture in the living room was a bit dated and not super comfortable for lounging around but the location made up for it. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a peaceful place to stay in Paso, would definitely stay again.

Amazing Gem in Paso Robles

We just stayed at this beautiful property for 5 nights and it was a truly amazing experience. It is very private and secluded in nature but just a short 5 min drive down the hill to downtown Paso Robles so you get the best of both worlds. Walk out your back patio door into a vineyard! Listen to the birds chirp and enjoy the beautiful landscape. The property itself was great, well stocked and very clean and the host was truly helpful as she wanted to ensure our family had a great trip. She provided insight regarding restaurants, wineries, activities for the kids, etc. We will definitely be coming back!

Country heaven close to town

Thank you Michelle for sharing your slice of heaven! Gorgeous views incredible setting. Charming country home upgraded with great big kitchen. Firepit and wood provided. Vineyards and vistas for days! Very quiet and peaceful but only 10 minutes from town. Loved our walks in this great area. Do follow the guidance and drive slowly up road to gate…Caution: potholes! We can’t wait to return.

Relaxing Paso Robles Vineyard Retreat

We loved our stay at the Thacher Vineyard Farmhouse. Just outside of town enough to feel totally removed from the world for awhile but still very easy to get to town, wine/olive oil/beer tastings and other activities. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need for a fabulous stay. Communication with the hosts was prompt and trouble-free. Would highly recommend. We'll plan on coming again the next time we're in Paso Robles.

Close to everything...and yet so very far away!

The Thacher Vineyard property is but a 10-minute drive from downtown Paso Robles, and yet it feels as if you have escaped everything. The only sounds are songbirds, and the views go on forever. The house itself isn't super-fancy, which makes it all the more comfortable. It's located up a dirt road with some potholes, so it's best to try to arrive during daylight hours. And be sure to book a wine tasting at the Thacher winery itself, which is about a 20-minute drive away. A perfect rental at a very reasonable price.

Heaven on earth

To start off this house makes you feel as though you are reviving hotel standard accommodations but if the midst of a flourishing Paso Robles vineyard. Arrival was seamless. The property and its view were incredible, our two children loved being outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed s’mores on the campfire nightly. Very short drive to downtown and vineyards. We can’t wait to come back!

Most wonderful getaway

Place was better than pics, amazing views, everything one needs to cook, we never wanted to leave. The views are incredible, the beds so comfy, plenty of wood for fire, clean and sparkling, and wonderful host. So incredibly close to town and easy to get to but still a peaceful retreat from it all. Had a driver pick us up from house for wine tasting day, can’t wait to return to this retreat.

A quiet paradise

The Thatcher Retreat is just what you're looking for. Three bedrooms, a large living room, a fully-stocked and spacious kitchen, a large dining table, an expansive back deck with a view of the entire valley, a private loft for your introvert to hide in...it's got everything! And being close to all the fine restaurants in Paso Robles and other points of interest (we saw Hearst Castle and went hiking) make it a great hub for a calming vacation.

Great Place in the Country

Very nice property outside of town. If you like to stay in the country side, this is for you. Very large property that you have all to yourself. The host is great and the house is clean and well stocked. I would definitely stay here again.

It was a great experience to stay at this location, but it does have a couple short comings with slow wifi and older tv without internet access/Youtube. Bathrooms were smallish. Kitchen was great! Grill area could use a remodel. Could have a axe for the wood...couldnt start the fire.

Wonderful Property!

What a wonderful place to stay! The property has great views and tons of privacy. The house is clean, cute, and very well appointed. Everything you might need for your stay is provided. The outdoor seating and fire pit were perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

Since 2004 we have owned and operated Thacher Winery at the Kentucky Ranch, we purchased Homestead Hill Vineyard and Vacation Rental in 2015 in order to grow our estate vineyards and to host visitors who love to stay at nice places, and eat and drink well.

Homestead Hill Vineyard and Vacation Rental has the best of being close to town and it's amenities at the same time it's gives the visitors a sense of peace and quiet being on 23 acres surrounded by vineyard and orchards. It has the best views of the sunrise!
