About Stan and Pam Hegener
We first found Crested Butte and Gunnison almost 35 years ago and brought our kids here to learn to ski. After several years absence we returned to the area and experienced the four seasons and decided we needed a place for our kids to come with their kids to enjoy the great outdoors!
Stan and Pam Hegener purchased this House in 2014
Why Stan and Pam Hegener chose Gunnison
When you drive up you will know why we fell in love with the property. You can see from the pictures its unique style and the amenities it has to offer. A 40 acre horse property with 360 views of the mountains and just 7 minutes from town and 20 minutes from Crested Butte. Year around activities and prefect temperatures!

A piece of paradise....
We loved our time at the ranch, it is a truely unique property. Everything is as described in previous reviews...perfect. Elizabeth, the lovely local manager, mentioned that the wi-fi had been updated and they did it perfectly. We always had a strong signal. Another plus was the wonderful heated garage that we had access to. The kitchen is beautiful and well furnished, the pictures don't do it justice.
Thank you Cathy we are so glad you enjoyed your stay! We hope to see you back again soon!

I host an annual fly fishing trip for a group of several friends and this year we stayed at the Hegener's wonderful home in Gunnison. Their magnificent home and its gorgeous view were exceed only by the Hegener's hospitality. Highly recommended without reservation.
Great place to escape to :)
Quiet and restful. Sunrises and sunsets were stunning, House is lovely and well equipped. Elizabeth, Dave, and Stan were all great to deal with, extremely helpful.
The only caution I would add has nothing to do with the house, but is attributed to the local infrastructure supporting internet & mobile connectivity. This is on the edge of wilderness and mountains, so coverage is not what you may normally experience in an urban setting.
Thank you very much for your kind comments we are glad you enjoyed your stay in the house and property you are right Internet is not the same as Denver Houston Oklahoma City but it is the best we can get in that area we are always on the lookout for a better service but so far nothing has cropped up again thank you for staying with us we hope you will come back in the future. Sincerely Stan and Pam
Amazing view out each window!
Our family of 10 enjoyed our "best family vacation" while in this very unique and beautiful ranch house. Our four grandchildren loved feeding carrots to the horses. We cooked hotdogs and smores over the fire. The house had everything we needed and more for cooking inside and outside. The beds were very comfortable. The towels seemed brand new. There was plenty of room for the children to play inside and not bother the adults. They could run freely outside w/o fear of cars. Elizabeth was very helpful and checked on us several times during the week. We enjoyed bumping into her with her family at Third Bowl in Crested Butte. She suggested restaurants and day trips and would let us know if she would be out of the area for the day. One bedroom is at the opposite end of the house from the rest of the rooms and doors can be closed to block out noises which is great. On of our sons in law jogged up the mountain each morning. There are porches around every corner and lots of seating inside. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the decorative couch pillows that add to the ambiance but are scratchy when you actually use them. It is a wonderful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our week on the ranch.
Thank you so much, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you back again one day!

We love staying at this house! We stayed here 2 years ago and just had to come back. The location is great and it's so pretty here. We ride the ATV trails around here every year. We rode around Crested Butte, Taylor Park and Pitkin.
This house has everything you could possibly need. We had 9 people staying there this summer with plenty of space to spread out.
I recommend it to everybody, whether you are riding the ATV trails or just want to relax.
Thank you so much for your comments we are glad you enjoyed your stay again! We hope you will return often!

Wow! We were in Gunnison for my daughters wedding, so we had family and friends in town. We were awed by the thoughtfulness and detail that went into the ranch. Plenty of gathering space and the views are stunning. Special thanks to the caretakers Elizabeth and Keith who are so accommodating. Elizabeth followed up with us through the week which made us feel at home. I think that there will be a return visit in our future!
Gunnison Crested Butte Valley 5 minutes from downtown, hospital and airport, 20 minutes to the slopes in Crested Butte, skiing, mountain biking, rafting, fly fishing, horseback riding. 10 minutes to Almont. Great restaurants in Gunnison and Crested Butte. Go Jeeping on the back roads, view the gold rush in fall. View Fireworks from the front porch and the must see Crested Butte parade on July 4th. So much to do and see you cannot take it all in in one vacation, come back for more!
