About the property

Four Bedroom Three Bath Completely Renovated In 2001 And Update Spring 2015.

This beautiful Historic craftsman style home is located at the edge of downtown Fairhope, directly across from the Eastern Shore art center and gallery. The home is only a five minute walk to the center of down town Fairhope with its many shops, restaurants, spas, and galleries. Four 18 hole golf courses, including two at the Marriott Grand Hotel are within a fifteen minute drive. The home features contemporary and period detailing with hardwood and marble floors, custom molding, updated appliances, and original artwork from local and international artists.

This home fully furnished with everything you need for a weekend, week, or long term. Whether you are a family looking for a weekend get a way, a new arrival needing a place till you find a home of your own, or you are looking for a place to escape the ice and snow and enjoy this areas mild winters. Just bring in your bags and relax.

You know you are some place special when you walk through the ten foot mahogany and glass doors into a two story vaulted entry and stair hall. To your left, you will find the billiards room with six foot Brunswick pool table, and Baldwin upright piano. Next is the first of two living areas, bright and open, it features stained concrete floors and a double sided gas fireplace. Comfy furniture make it the perfect spot for family and friends to gather for playing games or watching television.

Moving up three steps and through an arched opening, you enter the original portion of the house with its mahogany wainscot walls, coffered ceilings, and hardwood floors. It is open concept living at its best. This area includes a beautiful dining room which opens up to the exterior as well as the kitchen and easily accommodates 8 guests. The spacious kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal at home. The second living area, open to the kitchen radiates cottage charm with vintage wood detailing and a craftsman color palette. Here you can turn on the gas fireplace to warm up those cool fall and spring evenings and cuddle up on the sofa to watch a movie or the big game on the flat screen. There is even a small curved front porch with custom mosaic flooring nestled behind the azaleas, an ideal nook for morning coffee or afternoon cocktail. Just off the living room is the downstairs bedroom which sleeps two and bathroom with jetted tub/shower combination.

On to the second floor, where a bridge overlooking the entry takes you to the master suite and office to the right and the two bedroom upper wing to the left. If you head to the right, off a short hall featuring its own window overlooking the foyer is the master bathroom. And what a master bathroom; a twelve foot high vaulted ceiling with skylight views, beautiful jetted tub in an arched alcove surrounded by travertine marble floors, separate tiled steam shower, double vanities with Alabama white marble countertops, and generous walk-in closet. Then head to the master bedroom with its vaulted ceilings and pillow top queen bed for a restful night’s sleep. Open the bedroom’s double doors and step out on to your own private balcony, the perfect spot to catch up on your reading or share an evening nightcap. Should you need to get some work done, walk down the short hall into the private office. There you will find a wireless printer with plenty of desk space. The office also has a sleeper sofa and wardrobe to provide additional sleeping accommodations and boasts a fourteen foot high vaulted ceiling with cathedral windows that allow the north light to pour in.

Back at the stairs to the left, you will find the remaining two bedrooms, bathroom, laundry, side balcony and separate sitting area with flat screen television, ideal for kids or grand kids to have get-a-away space of their own. The bedrooms sleep a total of four, one has a full bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination. An additional separate vanity is located outside the bathroom.

The exterior of the home offers several outdoor spaces including a covered front porch, rear terrace with fire pit, and outdoor kitchen area. There is even a 6 person spa to soak those tired muscles after 18 holes of golf or a long day of shopping.

Why Peter Sikorowski chose Alabama

After moving to Fairhope in the late 1980' s I fell in love with the down town area. It was the perfect mix of a urban and small town. I found the perfect property in 1991 located at 404 oak av. walking distance from a grocery store, restaurants, galleries, live music venues, craft shows and numerous special events.

What makes this house unique

After parching the home it went through two renovation. One restoring the original structure and the other adding a major addition in 2000. Through out the renovations period wood work was added spaces were redesigned creating a mix of interment and open spaces.

Outstanding Fairhope Home!

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent time in this extraordinary home in downtown Fairhope and were not disappointed! The location is ideal and offers an easy stroll to all downtown dining and shopping, as well as walking distance to the bay. The home is immaculately decorated and offers several amenities that you will not find elsewhere (fire pit, grill, pool table, spacious back yard, hot tub, etc.). If you are looking for a great place to relax or a spot to enjoy time with family and friends, this is it. I highly recommend this location as my family wanted to stay for the rest of the year!

Charming and Enchanting times. Great for families.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for our daughters wedding. We chose the house for many of the Bridal pictures. The house was very roomy and beautiful. The Pool Table was a hit for the men. I personally loved the full size washer and dryer. We hope to go back to Fairhope soon. We definitely will be staying here again.

Fantastic girls (tennis) weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Peter's during the Southern Sectional Tennis tournament. The house was in a great location in Fairhope, and still close enough to Mobile Tennis Center. Peter was accessible if we needed him and the house was very spacious and comfortable. We plan to stay here the next time we visit. Highly recommend!

A beautiful home very convenient to downtown

  • 5 of 5

We needed a big space for family in town. This home is decorated beautifully, was clean, and has everything you might need. The kitchen is especially made for a group of people gathering around. Peter was very nice to meet us there and show us around. We loved the different zones for air conditioning in the bedrooms and house. A lovely home.

Great Owner, Great Place, Great Town!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at this home. The Owner was great, providing that personal touch that you don't get when you book a place owned by a Rental Company. You can tell that he is very proud of his home and this town. When we first arrived, he gave me a complete walk thru showing me where everything was. He told me about the best places to eat and what we could enjoy in town. He was right, we all fell in love with this town. The house was very comfortable and very clean. We are already talking about coming back in the future.
