7.5 Acre PRIVATE ISLAND with boat. Near downtown Traverse City

Space 1,100 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

2 bedrooms with a finished loft area for additional sleeping arrangements.

Please note: July and August rentals are SUNDAY to SUNDAY ONLY.

Namaste Island, a 7.5 acre private island on all-sports Bass Lake in Traverse City, MI, comes with a 1100 square foot, 4 season log cabin. The cabin has been completely renovated while maintaining her charm and rustic elegance. There are 2 bedrooms and a loft which can serve as a third bedroom. The cozy family room features a natural fireplace and the kitchen is equipped with top of the line appliances.

Transportation to and from the island is a breeze. The island has its own private land lot for parking your vehicles and a dock for tying up the S.S. Wimpy (a pontoon boat that we provide for your use).

Namaste Island is located on Bass Lake. Although it is a recreation lake, there is very little traffic to be found. A public boat launch is also available and can be seen from the island.

The island is heavily wooded and provides wonderful paths for walking. The sunrises and sunsets are magnificent. The moonlight and stars reflecting on the lake, which can be seen from your bed, defy description. In July, there are wild blueberries for picking. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the bald eagles that make Bass Lake their home.

When describing the Traverse area, I really don't know where to begin because this area offers so much. You can spend your days visiting the local wineries, exploring The Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, shopping and dining in downtown Traverse City, catch a concert in Interlochen or just relax and let the stress of the world melt away while spending time on the island.

Perfect place to relax and unwind!

  • 5 of 5

Namaste Island was absolutely beautiful. We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary and it was exactly what we hoped for. Al was a spectacular host and even provided us was a bottle of prosecco and goodies native to Northern Michigan upon arrival. We are looking forward to our next visit!!

Truly 'Namaste' by Lori J.

  • 5 of 5

We can't say enough about this wonderful property. The cabin was spotless and has everything you need and more. The island is gorgeous! It has so much space and we really enjoyed the walking trails. The lake is crystal clear and we were able to catch a few giant bluegill right off the pier. It's very quiet and peaceful, truly 'Namaste Island', but it also has the convenience of being just a short drive to all the activities, restaurants, wineries and shopping of Traverse City. The management and owner of the island keep everything top notch. It's fabulous!

When asked if the kids wanted to leave...they replied "Namaste!"

  • 5 of 5

We had the best week at Namaste Island. Our family (2 adults, 3 kids (11yo, 9yo, 6yo) and 1 dog) enjoyed our week in TC. It was the perfect balance of sight seeing and relaxing. The kayaks and canoe were a hit with our kids and the lake was so quiet we could let them go out together anytime. They were able to catch some fish off the dock and we enjoyed swimming in the lake and jumping off the boat. The fire pit was used almost every night. The house was equipped very nicely and the supplies were good quality. Sleeping was a little tight, but we had brought an air mattress that made it work. The house is close to TC, but far enough away that you truly feel isolated. Al did a great job answering my questions and providing instructions. Would definitely recommend for families looking for an outdoor vacation.

Napa, CA

Paradise in Northern Michigan

  • 5 of 5

We, my husband, son, two dogs and I, loved our week on the island. The cabin was comfortable and Al welcomed us on shore, helped load our belongings and motored us to the island, gave us a tour on land and water and let us settle in for a beautiful evening. I'm always looking for a new adventure and this one was special. We hope to visit again. If you love fishing, kayaking, boating or canoeing, Bass Lake is a place to explore and make lasting memories!
