We had a very relaxing getaway with my husband and our two dogs. The island was very peaceful. We had everything that we needed in the cabin. Would definitely visit again.
Private, serene, peaceful, and soul-touching are just a few words to describe our week-long stay on Namaste Island! The accommodations are luxurious for a cottage and you have everything and more that you will need! Nature lovers will love the outhouse! Also, the plethora of birds, sounds of the loons on the water and walks to Sunset Point, kayak rides with water Lillies in bloom and boat rides around quiet Bass Lake! Of course, campfires with Smore's are a must! Our kids were able to join us the second weekend and we made wonderful memories together again. TC is so close, we were able to do an Escape Room in Grawn and travel to Mission Point for some wine tasting. The S.S. Wimpy did not disappoint and got us to and from the parking spot with no issues. Debra gave us a wonderful tour of the cottage and the lake and all you have to do is follow her instructions to the tee and you will not have any issues! We took food for the whole week and cooked everything on-site and never left to eat at a restaurant. A pure heavenly week that will be embedded in my memory bank forever. Our dog absolutely loved the week off-leash, swimming whenever she wanted and being free to roam! Besides some small chipmunks, we did not see any other critters on the island. Weber grill was fabulous, bring charcoal, and fluid if you use it. They do have a charcoal burner that you can use newspaper with to fire up the coals. Wifi was good! I had some work to do with ZOOM meetings and I didn't have an issue. I will miss waking up and walking outside to the 360-degree view of the lake, the peace and the serenity that Namaste Island brought! Namaste!
It was a very relaxing and quiet vacation. Close to good restaurants and bike trails. Wish the fishing was better but all in all it was great.
A Perfect Getaway
It is impossible to leave Namaste Island feeling anything but relaxed and refreshed. We woke up every morning to the sound of birds chirping, and ended every day with beautiful sunsets. Even the days it rained, there was beauty. We took advantage of the kayaks and canoe almost every day. The boys fished (semi-successfully) almost every day and the firepit was also in frequent use. There is plenty of space to play games, read and have good family meals. Our pups also loved the place and the opportunity to run off leash.
The listing is spot-on with what you can expect, expect that the beauty of the island can only be truly witnessed in person. The property manager is awesome and there for any questions you might have. He's also got a great sense of humor.
I would absolutely stay here again, and hope to one day.
We absolutely loved our week at Namaste Island! It was one of the most relaxing, peaceful vacations we’ve ever taken. The manager, Al, was welcoming, kind and very helpful. The cottage and island were perfect for our family. So grateful for our time there.
You are only 35 minutes away from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. It was named the “Most Beautiful Place in America” on ABC’s Good Morning America.
