About Cynthia Chaffee Kidder
My husband and I love nature and the outdoors. Jeff is a biologist, and I am a musician who has found a love for gardening and hosting. We are transplanted easterners, raised in Pennsylania, later living and learning in Ithaca, New York and Morris Plains, New Jersey. We landed in Colorado ten years ago and have been enjoying the adventure of living under the shadow of the great Rockies ever since. We are avid explorers of Colorado and would be delighted to suggest local and regional adventures to our guests.

Sweet Quiet Retreat
I booked this property for my parent's surprise anniversary trip and they had nothing but good things to say about this place! It was quiet, relaxing, and entertaining. Games and a nice nature place is prepared for entertainment and relaxation. Even though my parents were late to their vacation, Jeff and Cynthia were welcoming and kind in their introduction and knowledgeable. They had an over-the-moon experience and loved it a lot!! If you are thinking about staying here, please do it! You will not regret it!
Cute, comfy, cozy, and convenient
We absolutely loved our cabin! When we arrived, Jeff was waiting to check us in and give us some awesome suggestions for local restaurants and attractions. We are not new to the area but found some new things to experience. We were pleasantly surprised by how well stocked the cabin was-plenty of dishes, cookware, cooking spices, measuring cups, serving items, cleaning supplies, and so much more! There was also hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand lotion, a hair dryer, and other personal care items. They also had a welcome package with local treats and a personalized message-so thoughtful! Little touches such as our state flag, fresh flowers, and a history of the cabin really took our stay over the top! This cabin was so much better than where we used to stay. We are happy we found this little gem and cannot wait to stay here again!
awesome cabin in a gr8 location. jeff was very personable and helpful. caution: might not want to use the fireplace
We ask our guests to let us know if they are having any problems. We always offer to help our guests who may be unfamiliar with building a fire in a small firebox. Had we known about this, we would have helped them.
The fireplace flue was recently cleaned, and it is in good working order. Subsequent guests have make good use of the fireplace.
Beautiful relaxing awesome
This was a short stay but we loved it. The hosts were welcoming and warm. They gave us some great ideas of areas to visit. The place was small, but clean and comfortable. Loved this place and will need to come back.
Above and Beyond
This was our second stay (see our review from Sep 2018) and we bumped our time here from 3 nights to 4 this year while visiting Colorado. Great location, very cozy and clean with lots of nice personal touches and information about Boulder and the surrounding areas.
Jeff and Cynthia are great hosts and Jeff went above and beyond for us this year. There was maintenance going on in the Canyon. While we were in Boulder, I received a call and Jeff told us there was a rockslide that closed the road. As it was evening and had rained in the area, rather than just giving us instructions on how to use the backroads at night, Jeff gave us a meeting place in town so we could follow him back. Thanks again, Jeff.
Red rocks get away.
Everything was as advertised and better. Meticulously cleaned and many very homey touches. Would absolutely stay again and recommend.
The cabin is in Boulder Canyon, which is a magnificent natural attraction connecting the plains with the peaks of the Rockies. At the entrance to the canyon is a park featuring enormous red rocks tilted vertically with spectacular views of the Boulder Valley. The Boulder Creek Path, popular with cyclists and hikers, follows the creek for several miles in the canyon. A couple miles above our cabin is scenic Boulder Falls and the dramatic cliffs of The Narrows. Popular destinations for rock climbers are throughout the canyon.
