About Benjamin Pearson
My father Jeff was born and raised here on Swan Lake. He and my mom Lori moved to Connecticut where Jeff worked as a shipwright at Mystic Seaport Museum for 16 years before starting his own antique business specializing in old tools. After raising me, they returned to live and retire in the Searsport area. Lori currently works as an aftercare teacher at Cornerspring Montessori School and manages the weekly turnovers. You can thank her for the baked goods! After studying Applied Mathematics at University of Maine at Farmington, I worked with a number of professional land surveyors on Cape Cod and southern Maine. I now work for the family.
Benjamin Pearson purchased this Cottage in 2009
Why Benjamin Pearson chose Searsport
This Maine lakeside getaway has been passed down through generations of Pearsons since the 1960's. We have decided to open our retreat to people looking for the same Maine escape. You can relax outside on the rock patio and be one with wildlife. Very quiet and tranquil!
What makes this Cottage unique
Enjoy breath taking sunsets and 3 Sisters' Mts. across the lake. Second largest lake in Waldo County with a plethora of wildlife. Bald eagles live here year round! Enjoy swimming, waterskiing, tubing, kayaking and canoeing. BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat) Pristine waters, great fishing!

A relaxing getaway
Our group of friends had a great time at Welikit over labor day weekend. Swan lake was surprisingly warm for swimming and we enjoyed using the canoes/kayaks. The house was lovely and clean, giving us a relaxing retreat to return to after daily adventures. The owners were fantastic. There were delicious blueberry muffins when we arrived and they were very reachable if any issues or needs popped up. The one thing I will say as advice for future guests is that Google maps sent us to the wrong location first based off of the address on the listing. It took us somewhere not attractive in Belfast which we found out happens often. The real location is in Searsport up the road from Swan Lake Grocery.
Wonderful Lakefront Cottage
We had a great week at WELIKIT cottage! The cottage was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed using the kayaks to explore Swan Lake and the sunsets were beautiful! This cottage is also close enough to the coast to easily explore from Rockland to Acadia. We really appreciate everything Benjamin and Lori did for us!
Outstanding place in every way. Highly recommended and we will be back!
This was our second stay at this property and definitely not our last. There is plenty of room for friends and family in this comfortable cottage. Can’t wait to return!
Beautiful and Relaxing
Welikit is a spectacular place to be for relaxing and enjoying the most spectacular views of Swan Lake. Ben and Lori are wonderful hosts who make sure you are ready to have a perfect stay at their beautiful cottage. Ben is a master craftsman who has created spaces on property for all to enjoy. There are wonderful swinging chairs, a welcoming sitting area with a fire pit created by Ben, two kayaks, a canoe, and a spectacular porch with a great view of Swan Lake. Lori has created a beautiful interior with perfect touches for this wonderful lake home. A fantastic open floor plan allows all to enjoy each other from the tasteful kitchen to the living area with wonderful hardwood floors throughout. Sleeping up to 12 let’s everyone relax in their own space. We love Welikit and will continue to enjoy this beautiful and relaxing camp.
