About this property

2-wing home for large/multi-generation family/friends, cul de sac, beach ~ 1 mi.

Inviting and comfortable home on the end of a cul de sac, on beach side of Route 28, just over one mile from Harwich’s largest beach, Red River Beach, on Nantucket Sound. Last street south of 28 before Chatham.

WiFi enabled home of over 2,700 sq. ft. with central A/C

Main house has three bedrooms (1 King bedroom, 2 twins in second bedroom, full-size bedroom on the main floor) plus two and a half baths.

Two more bedrooms (1 bedroom with queen bed, and another bedroom with 3 twin beds, solar shade skylights) and full bathroom are in separate south wing.

Large Family room with flat screen TCL HD TV, BlueRay Player with many DVDs, & books.

Front to back large formal Living room with fireplace seats at least 10 and leather topped desk .

Formal Dining room with table that seats 10,

Fully-equipped eat-in kitchen, with range, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, mixer, pie and cookie-making supplies, etc

Large breezeway connecting main house to "south wing"

At quoted price linens are Not included but can readily be arranged for $320 extra per week, for sheets and towels. BYO towels and save $170. Please contact owner for details.

The primary renter (contract signer) must be at least 25 years old, and the maximum number of rental residents and guests is 10 unless otherwise agreed by contract. Guest agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold Homeowner harmless from any and all liability for personal injury, sickness, or property damage sustained or otherwise claimed by Guest or any individual invited or otherwise brought onto the property by Guest.

The house comes with a booklet with many suggestions for area activities, restaurants, shopping, etc. It's a wonderful place to come and say "Ahhhh!" Come enjoy!

Wonderful stay on the Cape!

The house was perfect for our group of 10 adult friends who were in the area for a wedding. Elizabeth was a wonderful host - very responsive and helpful, the house was very spacious and had everything we needed for our long weekend stay. would stay again!

Great place for a wedding party at the Cape

Great property! Nearby grocery store and lots of restaurants. Spacious property with fun backyard. It was a great space for a group of college friends to catch up and get ready for a wedding :) Elizabeth was super helpful and responsive. Will definitely stay there again next time I’m at the cape.

Good location with a good layout for a large family or group. House had 4 bathrooms and laundry which was a huge plus for us. One street over from Chatham and a 5 min drive or 8 min bike ride to the Red River beach. We liked that it was close to Harwichport/Dennis/Chatham and central to all the Cape Cod League baseball fields. Backyard was nice and had ample room to relax in. Was wondering if the owners ever thought to make a path to the Red River that is behind the house, might be a good kayaking opportunity or be able to see some of the nature back there.

Family gathering

My family had a wonderful time at this comfortable and well appointed home. Red river beach was very close and we were able to get there and back with ease. Had cookouts and toasted marshmallows over the fire pit. Plenty of space to spread out or be together for meals. Elizabeth the host was extremely responsive and helpful with all my questions. Definitely highly recommend!

Red River Rental

Very spacious home, there were 5 of us so we all had our own bedrooms, but house could certainly hold a much larger group. Nice centrally located family room to gather to watch tv. Large, fenced back yard, with outdoor shower. Owner/host was exceptionally responsive. It should be noted that entry to home sits up a small hill and bedrooms are on 2nd floor so may pose a problem if guests have any mobility issues

Wonderful Cape home

We found this to be wonderfully spacious for the 9 of us with two families with children staying in each 'wing' and myself (grandmother) staying in the middle....perfect! We appreciated the outdoor table for eating every night and watching the British Baking show on the large screen TV. The kids (and a few adults) loved the foozeball in the basement. The location was perfect for us and the neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful. We have rented smaller houses in less quiet neighborhoods in the past, so we were delighted with this house. We would be happy to return next summer.

Family vacation

We really enjoyed our stay. A little disappointed in the proximity of the house and the beach. The walk to the beach was difficult since to walk there you need to share the road with fast moving traffic and no soft shoulder. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable for a multigenerational family

The home is at end of a quiet cul de sac with fenced in back yard. From the garage side of home, you see all greenery. It is comfortable and private with easy beach access. The outdoor shower is great and there are plenty of bathrooms for a group. A nice array of cooking provisions are provided as well as dining in or out options.It is nice to be so close to both Harwichport and Chatham.

Loved the separate wings, family room, living room. 3 1/2 baths plus outdoor shower are so convenient. And we loved Red River Beach. Very responsive host. We would definitely rent again.

Lovely house on a quiet cul-de-sac

We enjoyed the house and it worked well for a family with young children, there was plenty of room to spread out and find a quiet spot or enjoy a family game. The yard was very nice. The location is great, in easy access to everything in Harwich. Elizabeth was very responsive to all our questions and worked us with to make the stay pleasant. While the property is accurately listed on VRBO, I do wish that I had know that I would have to sign a fairly restrictive contract before I booked the property. Elizabeth and I were able to work out a compromise that suited both of us in the end. I just think it is good to know about the need to sign a contract when you are thinking about booking a reservation.

Post pandemic Vaca!

The property is set up to accommodate two separate living spaces with plenty of bathrooms. A fun rambling home! Near enough to beach to do drop offs and pick ups with ease. Kitchen was well equipped. Meat thermometer? Yup. Birthday candles? Yup! Stay was not long enough. Perhaps we should return…..

A welcoming and relaxing retreat!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at your home! The house was equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals and it was especially nice to have the fire pit and beach chairs available. All of my communication with the homeowner was very positive and any communication was answered very quickly. I am hoping to return to this property in the future. It was a perfect location to explore Cape Cod!

We are long-time lovers of Cape Cod - it's natural beauty, opportunities for exploration, relaxation, and more. With a family of six, now expanded to nine with two marriages and a grandchild, we find the Cape is a wonderful place to have fun and reconnect. We were delighted to make a formal commitment to the Cape by purchasing our home in 2009.

Why they chose this property

Our home is in a great location to reach anything on the Cape! We were especially attracted to this house because we knew we could have our adult children with their families, for all to enjoy being together yet offering privacy with the south wing, which accommodates 5 people. We like to walk to Red River Beach, drive 15 minutes to Nauset Beach, enjoy nature, a nice meal at home in our ample dining room or outdoors with the grill in our fenced in backyard. If some like to walk to the beach and others prefer to ride, we sometimes have a "walker" drive to the beach and leave the riders. Then the driver returns to the house and walks down to the beach. There also are many nearby restaurants. We especially like Buca's around the corner from our street for a special night out. Yum! The drive-in theater is an annual must for us. We are often astounded that after more than 50 years of visiting the Cape, we still find something new to do every year!

What makes this property unique

As described above, this house has plenty of room (2,700 sq. ft.) and can accommodate two families, particularly multi-generations, offering privacy and yet togetherness. We enjoy walking or cycling to Red River Beach, viewing the adjacent Red River Conservation area, and the quiet and safety of our cul de sac location and fenced backyard.
