We had a remarkable time on Daufuskie and staying in the Dreams House! Deborah went above and beyond to communicate with us and help us - keeping us up to date with COVD-19 procedures, helping arrange transportation that fit our social distancing preferences, and cleaning/sanitizing the house. She is a kind, thoughtful owner and even brought over a random kitchen utensil the moment I needed it! The house is as lovely, clean, and cozy as the photos convey. It fit our family superbly - 2 adults and 4 children. The loft is perfect for children. The two downstairs bedrooms have very comfortable beds, soft sheets, and lovely bathrooms. The house was well-stocked! I cooked almost all our meals and the pots, dishes, etc. made it just like home. There are plenty of linens for the beds, soft blankets for relaxing, and more than enough bath towels. The washer and dryer are excellent! The large smart tv was a big hit with the kids while we sipped coffee on the porch bed swing. I'd read great reviews of the bed swing, and it did not disappoint! The porch is such a great space to hang out, eat, and take in the sounds of nature around you. There were board games and coloring items in the house that we loved using. We also really appreciated the outdoor shower (the only place my kids bathed during our stay!) and hose for rinsing off after the beach. We were thankful for all the beach toys & chairs available in the shed too. Despite the current pandemic, we felt perfectly at ease in this house and on the island. If you are looking for a simple, "off the grid" vacation, THIS IS IT! We spent hours on the beach without seeing a soul. The golf carts are essential for getting around (the soft, sandy roads can be challenging for bikes), and provide excellent opportunities for exploring the island and viewing wildlife. While practicing social distancing, the few residents we did talk to were extremely welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed an impromptu indigo lesson from the owner of Daufuskie Blues, and the open air gallery of IronFish Art is very cool. We got take-out from Lucy Bell's one time and it was delicious! The slow pace of life on the island is wonderful and the perfect respite. We had already recommended Daufuskie and the Dreams House to someone before we'd even left the island! Tour Daufuskie (golf carts) & May River Excursions (water taxi) were excellent to work with also! Highly recommend!

We had a great Thanksgiving at Daufuskie - we have stayed multiple times - but guests need to know what to expect. It is not the Ritz - but we are very happy to trade fancy for almost deserted beaches - it is a trip back in time! Nice people , unbelievably secluded beaches and a chance to really relax.

This is our first time using any of the short term rental sites, and we were a little hesitant about the process. BUT. Let me tell you about this wonderful home, and the amazing people who are listing it! From the day that I booked for our vacation, we've had a line of communication open with the on island rep for this home. She's so sweet, and recommended ferries to book and companies to get carts from to scoot around the island. The home itself? Immaculate. So beautiful and clean, it felt like visiting a family member's home instead of something booked online. We used to stay exclusively in nicer hotels on vacation, but this is BETTER. Bathrooms were stocked up with all the essentials, the kitchen had all your basics covered, and good grief. This house is gorgeous. I LOVE this home. There was a full binder worth of info about the island, including some how-to, menus for the island's restaurants, and a map with the route to the beach. There's no central AC in the home, but the mini splits kept everything nice and cool for when you came back from your adventures. Daufuskie Island has cemented itself in both of our hearts, to the point that we were looking on Zillow the first night of our trip. To the owners: You have made such a beautiful and loving space in an amazingly gorgeous island. I hope every day you spend in your home is just as wonderful as the brief two (just two!! Sad day on leaving) nights that we got to enjoy.

I vacationed here with my husband and three children (14, 12, and 9 years old). We were initially concerned about the logistics of a vacation on the island; however, we were relieved with the amount of information and guidance received. The condo was great and met our needs. A few minor recommendations were provided to the owners to enhance the stay of others but there was nothing that impacted our stay. A few notes to assist others: The condo is in the unit to the left when you arrive, most all cooking utensils, etc. that was needed was available (no muffin tin, whisk, and missing a few measuring cups- otherwise, great selection). For those like me that enjoy lower sleeping temps at night, the thermostat does not go lower than 68. Also, the beds were not worn out and in good condition, just softer than my preference. There was pool chairs, and a few beach toys for the children. The condo also had a great selection of movies and games. The owners were very responsive to our questions and also proactively checked in to see if we needed anything. If we return to the Island for future vacations, we would definitely stay here again.

We have rented a number of vacation properties. This is the first one that didn’t have 1 single item that needed addressed. The condo was amazing. Pool was great. You can’t ask for better beach access. There were so many extras in the condo - it was amazing. We loved the island and can’t wait to go back (hopefully to this exact condo).
