  • Great stay

"This house was just as described. It was a perfect amount of space for 8 people without feeling crowded. The beds were very comfortable and overall the house was perfect for what we needed. Robert was great to work with on getting everything set up and answering all of our questions. Thank you!"

  • Cute, cozy, comfortable and cool!

"Had a great 4 nite stay at Mike and Kaci's authentic adobe casita. All the comforts of home were provided, and our hosts were warm and friendly. The casita has a colorful funky, artsy vibe that fits in with what Marfa is all about. There is an outdoor patio to drink your coffee and watch hummingbirds flit about. Everything is within walking/ biking distance-- good food, good music and great art. Kaci suggested the scenic drive through Ft. Davis back to Midland airport-- what spectacular views! We will come back to Marfa this way always! Thank you!"

  • Great modern space!

"We loved our three days in Marfa at this bright, modern, airy house, easy to find, and the owner made it super simple to get in once we arrived. We came to see the Perseids meteor shower and the backyard was a great vantage point the first night. Unfortunately we got rain after that, but the screened porch was the perfect place to watch the storms come and go, eat meals, or just gaze at the lovely xeriscaped backyard. Clean, thoughtfully appointed, fun artwork perfectly scaled to the space, nice crisp linens, three options for sleeping - soft, medium, and firm. The ladder to the loft took a *little* getting used to---could be an issue for older travelers or anyone with an injury or other limitation. Rain showerhead wasn't the strongest water pressure, and does splash a bit so be aware of that before you step in. It's 25 mins to the Prada store, well situated for excursions to Ft. Davis, the McDonald Observatory, and Balmorhea. Right next door to a pho restaurant (Marpho, get it?), a two minute walk from a Mexican food restaurant. Close to El Cheapo liquor but their inventory is NOT cheapo, so I'd recommend bring your own if you want wine, beer or cocktails. Other things to note - if you're sharing space with people you don't know well, there's not a ton of privacy, but for two people or a family of four, was just right, especially as what you give up in having a bunch of rooms with doors, you gain back with the light and high ceilings, clerestory windows letting in plenty of sun. It is on Marfa's main street, so there's night traffic with 18-wheelers, and you can hear the train, but that is pretty much the case from Marathon to Valentine and beyond. Thanks so much; we hope to be back!"

  • Perfect Introduction to the West

"Marfa Loft was exactly as pictured...and somehow still even better in person. The location has got to be the best spot in town being right in the middle of everything, yet somehow still secluded by nature with our very own private oasis feel. David was the perfect host. He introduced himself upon our arrival and gave us great advice on what to do and where to go, especially when it came to the food portion of Marfa. The property was clean and very well maintained. The Loft itself we could have stayed in all day! Very spacious...especially that amazing shower. We also really enjoyed having our own private balcony surrounded by nature-coffee outside in the morning and a nightcap in the evening! We walked nearly everywhere a few times a day and saw the entire town. The views from the clerestory windows were also unexpected...loved viewing the silent industrialness of the older buildings on one side and tree covered windows on all of the others. Visually relaxing yet mindfully stimulating! We are now spoiled by David's Loft - can't imagine coming to a place like Marfa and staying in a hotel with other people around you. This trip and loft was exactly what we were looking for...privacy and relaxation, yet steps to everything else when we wanted it. We will definitely be back and we will most definitely stay at Marfa Loft! Thanks for introducing me to the West proper!! -Karen R."
