This is the Hawaii you dream about! This little bungalow on the beach is an ideal tropical vacation destination for a couple or a family with children. It is the perfect island get-away for Honeymooners.

The house has a brand new queen bed in the one bedroom and two twin beds in the living room, so it sleeps four.

The house and Lanai open to expansive views of the beach, ocean, and sunsets year round. The lawn and gardens are flush with native Hawaiian trees and plants including 15 coconut palms.

Start your day sipping your morning coffee on your private Lanai while watching for migrating whales or spinner dolphins which make their home in the nearby Marine Sanctuary. Spend the rest of the day sunbathing on your private beach or relaxing in the hammock in the shade of coconut palms.

Enjoy the afternoon swimming with seaturtles, snorkeling or scuba diving in one of the best diving spots in Hawaii, the Puako reef, just a outside the Hale. A convenient entrance spot for snorkelers and kayaks is just a few yards from Hale Malia. Children will enjoy hours of beach combing and exploring tide pools.

The nightly sunset always brings people to the beach - a great chance to chat with locals and visitors alike. The beautiful tree-lined Puako Beach Drive is great for hikers, runners, and roller skaters.

When you are ready to leave the serenity of Puako you can visit some of the most premiere resorts on the Island, such as the Mauna Lani and Hilton Waikoloa, which are just minutes away. They provide first class dining and entertainment, spa treatments, shopping and golf. Several fabulous beaches are minutes away including "69" Beach and Hapuna Beach -both are wonderful for swimming, surfing, and boogie boarding. Sunset sails, deep-sea fishing, and world class golf are all available nearby.

Puako is conveniently located for visiting and touring the various sights of the Big Island. Driving time to Kailua- Kona is 25 minutes, Waimea 20 minutes, Captain Cook 45 minutes, Hilo one hour, and the Volcanoes Park one and a half hours.

Pre-ordered groceries can be awaiting you upon arrival. You'll be enjoying lunch and a cold beverage on your lanai, beach or hammock less than 1 hour after your flight's touch-down!

This property may be rented together with the next door cottage to accomodate a larger group. In combination the two homes would sleep six. The access between the two hales is very convenient. Please contact rental coordinator for availability.

  • Dear Kirsi, Your house on Puako beach was simply delightful, thank you. Peaceful, serene, and postcard scenic. There is no finer lanai on which to enjoy ones Kona coffee and papaya in the morning, wine and pupus at sunset. The water access 2 houses south was flat calm for us, allowing quick and easy snorkeling access to the reefs which were thick with colorful fish and turtles. Hot insider tip for your guests: The Waikoloa market 5 miles up Waikoloa road is just 10 minutes from the house. It has a good selection of wine, local coffees, produce, high quality groceries, and hands down the best Ahi Sesame Poke on the Kona coast. We look forward to staying there again!
