Beth’s Hawaiian Hideaway

Aloha and welcome to Beth’s Hawaiian Hideaway in South Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Our beautiful “Paniolo King Suite” with pool is a great place for couples or anyone who would like to have a wonderful Kona, Big Island vacation rental that’s much more affordable and offers more privacy than most condos and B and B’s offer.

Cook your own meals or dine out-it’s your choice. We are close to grocery stores, shopping, restaurants and many activities and a great jumping-off place for other activities around the island. This adorable and spacious (600 sq ft) studio is open, bright and airy. The entire ocean facing wall of the Hideaway is filled with windows and peaceful views of the lawn, (horseshoes and badminton anyone?) landscaping, trees and the sea.

Enjoy the lovely living room area with “elephant” bamboo couch and chairs, cable TV, DVD player and both indoor and outdoor dining areas. Sleep like a baby in the comfy king size bed and relax in the private bath with tub and shower, complimentary robes included. The beautifully equipped kitchen is there for those who’d like to cook. You will have a separate entrance and complete privacy in a beautiful residential area.

The Unique Benefits of this Studio

We are less than 10 minutes from two great places to snorkel & kayak, (Two Steps at Honaunau) right at the entrance to Pu’uHonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. (City of Refugee) and Captain Cook's Monument, home of The spectacular marine sanctuary at Kealakekua Bay. That offers an abundance of colorful tropical fish, a variety of beautiful coral reefs and visibility often to 100 feet. The calm, protected waters and sunny skies of Kealakekua Bay provide superior snorkeling and diving year round, with the water temperature averaging 76 degrees.
The Hideaways have a full kitchen “Paniolo King suite” or efficiency kitchen ”Plumeria Queen suite” for your own meals or we are located near some very nice restaurants.
We have wireless connection for our clients.
We hope that you will book with us and share our beautiful location.

    • 5/22/09-6/11/09 We loved our stay at Beth and Davids cottage. Wonderful pool, beautiful yard with fruit trees. They are wonderful hosts. Furnished Kyak, snorking gear, bikes, yard games for their beautiful large grass yard. Only a few minutes away from Puu'hanaua O Honoaunau,(city of Refuge) and the kyaking and snorking with the dolphins at Kealakekua, bay. If you want an old Hawaii private place to stay for two, or rent the other apartment for two also you won't find a better place near Kona. We have been visiting Hawaii every two years for 20 years and this is the best place yet. Shirlee & Bill Morgan Harrison,Ohio U.S.A.

Three Weeks in Paradise. What a beautiful place! Beth and Dave are great hosts: Available for helpful local advice, and always friendly and relaxed. They made us feel (better than) at home. We had a wonderful time here-stayed three weeks and would have loved to have made it longer. Their place is charming, excellently located (we could easily get to any point on the island and back within a day) and is a real bargain. A+

    • Thank you Beth and Dave for providing us with such a lovely home away from home. The property is beautiful and the hideaway very private and well appointed. Beth's lovely touches with fresh flowers, fresh fruit from their property every morning and the great decor with a fully functional kitchen really made us feel at home. Dave was so helpful with local knowledge and helping us set up the kayak on the car so we could go snorkeling in one of the most amazing places which is right down the hill from the hideaway! We used the bikes as well. They have thought of everything you would need including an incredible book collection on all thing Hawaiian which we really appreciated. If you are looking for a home away from home to stay in in South Kona, this is a wonderful place. We hope to return. Mary and Pete, May 2009

    • What luck it is to have found Beth & Dave! Their studio was the perfect setting for rest, relaxation and adventure on the Big Island. From the thoughtful decor, to the fresh fruit from the garden, to the toys to adventure around with, this felt like a Bed & Breakfast for just the two of us! We spent the latter part of the week at a Kohala Coast hotel, and we mused that we should have just stayed in the studio...we loved the proximity to exceptional snorkeling (and we have snorkeled all over the world), swimming, hiking, and kayaking. We were easily able to drive down the hill for runs and bike rides. It was a manageable drive to Volcanoes Nat'l Park. Beth & Dave provided us with a lovely balance of privacy and friendly conversation in their well-equipped accommodations. Their generosity and easy-going natures made us feel comfortable and welcome. We wish we could take another week off of work soon to come back...

    • Dear Dave and Beth, Ray and I would like to thank you very much for helping make our holiday in the Hawaii Island a most memorable experience. Your warmth, generosity, friendliness and hospitality were most appreciated. Your rental unit is superlative ! The decor is playful and most pleasing to the eye, and very comfortable. You have thought of every detail that makes for a special stay: fresh cut, exotic flowers, orchids, nicely pressed, quality sheets, lovely towels, a well equipped kitchen with fresh Kona coffee beans, all the fresh fruit from your trees which made the most delicious morning smoothies, laundry facilities, the use of your pool and your quiet, most relaxing property. I loved the feeling of being "outside" in the lanai. Wireless Internet was helpful with some work I had to do. Most of all - it was so clean, which held great appeal to me. Thank you so much ! once again, for your wonderful hospitality. We would return for a visit in a heartbeat, and will be sure to recommend your vacation property to all of our friends who will be visiting Hawaii in the future. Best wishes to you both !

    • Short summary: Beth and Dave, thank you for these wonderful days! We really enjoyed this accommodation for several reasons: The condo is very comfortable, well equipped and arranged with love. The house with its big garden and pool is used only by 3 apartments, so you feel pretty private. There’s a wide choice of sport equipment that is offered by Beth and Dave and that one can use any time. It’s just 5 minutes away to one of the best snorkelling spots of Hawaii. It is a must to take the canoe and the snorkel gear to paddle to Cook's Monument to snorkel. We were lucky; dolphins were spinning next to our canoe. This was a wonderful time, the best of the year.

    • WOW! Beth's Hideaway is a great spot for a couple interested in staying south of Kona. The owners, Beth and Dave, made the place very charming and home-like, and they are both personable and helpful, and quite unobtrusive. The place is only a couple of miles up the hill from the City of Refuge and the adjacent, amazingly (and yet) unspoiled "Two Steps" snorkeling area. The Hideaway is very well appointed, with WIFI, kayaks, bikes, snorkeling gear, and such, plus a nice kitchen, all the fresh fruit you can eat (from their gardens) and a nice breezy screened-in dining and living area. Very comfortable. It was also very reasonable, especially for prime Christmas season, and being outside the main tourist area (which is to the north) one can enjoy the coast without the crowds. My gf and I loved it. We have stayed at several such rentals, and this was by far the best.

Dear Dave & Beth I've really enjoyed my time here at your hideaway. It's the most beautiful place to wake up to every morning. fresh orange juice, Starfruit and Papayas. You both have been great and very accomodating to the both of us. Thankyou for all the information you shared with us that made our trip very unique. One day when our new addition comes along we'll have to head back over so that our new little one can enjoy the splendor of the Big Island. Good Luck with everything and may the New Year bring greatness. Mahalo Sherry & Jesse
