  This is our 3rd time staying at Kahana Sunset and first time in this Unit. The Unit was incredible, with everything we needed. The furniture and beds were the best we have ever experienced and the air conditioning was the piece de resistance! Thanks for a great stay!

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

  The moment we walked into the condo, I knew that we were going to have an amazing week. The unit is tastefully decorated with designer furniture and top of the line appliances. As you look out the sliding glass door you have a beautiful view of the ocean including one of the best sunsets you will ever see. We ended up using the gas BBQs most of the nights and grilled fish that we picked up at the market. The resort takes excellent care of the grills and cleans them each day. They are located next to the beach which provides a great backdrop for grilling. While grilling, we met a number of interesting people that were also staying in the resort. Everyone was raving over the location and a couple of the people we spoke to had stayed at the resort over 50 times. The beach is just perfect and I never saw more than 5 people on the beach at one time. You definitely get the private beach feel while staying here. If you snorkel out to the rocks to the right of the beach, you can get a close up view of the giant turtles that like to feed on the rocks. When you are done swimming in the ocean, you only have a 50 foot walk back to the condo. There is a very nice pool and plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing as well. I have stayed at the Kaanapali Ali'i and a few other resorts in Maui and I have found my new favorite right here. I would have no problem recommending this location to any of my friends.

  Aloha Linda- We wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed our vacation and our stay in your beautiful condo at Kahana Sunset. The condo and Kahana Sunset were everything you promised in your listing and more! The condo was very comfortable for our family of 5. The recent remodeling, updated appliances,comfortable beds and decor were fabulous. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and the fact that there were plenty of beach and bath towels. We saw sea turtles and fabulous sunsets off the deck every day, as well as a huge variety of fish when we snorkeled around the coral next to the Kahana Sunset beach! The Kahana Sunset complex was impeccably maintained with stone pathways, flower gardens, and banana and lime trees full of fruit. Access to the beach and pool were very convenient with plenty of chairs and lounges. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also appreciated the gas grills that were located within the complex for the evenings that we decided to eat in. We would definitely like to stay in the condo again in the future! Mahalo for helping to make our vacation in Maui a fabulous experience!

  This is a BEAUTIFULLY decorated condo with top of the line everything! It was however a HUGE disappointment (and such a surprise!) that it is not well taken care of. We have stayed in many vrbo's and have always been pleased...until this unit. The surprise to us, was that somebody would spend so much time, energy and MONEY to make this condo "appear" delightful and then NOT take the care or energy to keep it clean. We have a 3 year old,so my husband had emailed asking about the beach for winter, as we are familiar with the area and know that if not protected, it can be rough here. The picture looked as though beach was protected but we had not been.It is really almost private and nice sand and that is a beautiful thing. He said he was told it is good year round. We only played at this beach 1 day in 2 wks ......WAY too rough, with waves almost coming to wall and sometimes right over into building in front of beach (which was empty and under renos already!). Not the end of the world.....we love all of Maui and went on adventures every day. The disappointment was that we had booked this unit because of the beach in front!! The beach was empty every day (except the day we played there and even then not many people). People sat up above on grass and swam in pool. We drove around to calmer beaches and used the pool (which was lovely), the only heated pool we have had in Hawaii! We have never missed the pool heating but our 3 year old LOVED the warmth. People at this resort were ALL sooooo friendly and our kids made friends and penpals and we had people to visit with when we grilled and wandered, looking at turtles and playing in pool. Our unit had comfy beds and very comfy linens, however the sheets had stains on them. ALL baseboards were thick with dust as were fans, doors , cabinets,shelves, tables (which also had food in cracks and in chairs). There was very small cupboard to put food, and it was very dusty with food crumbs everywhere. Fridge had food spills and crumbs. Drawers were all full of dust and food crumbs. Closets and under beds had pieces of garbage.There was no welcome book with appliance instructions or attraction/dining advice as we have had at EVERY other vrbo (some grimy dated Maui mags) . There was no cooler or beach toys like every other place we have been(there was one drawer full of sand, broken toys etc - nothing like other vrbos). I see it is booked a lot, good 4 them...I would spend that money elsewhere.

  Here's a response I received via e-mail. Thank you so much, we loved your condo at the KS. It was beautiful!! My husband told me, "From now on, let us only rent this unit!" Obviously he loved it as well. You have done such a wonderful remodel, it is a perfect rental. I just enjoyed the relaxing, and it was a plus to have that ocean view lanai to sit out on. It was lovely, and we look forward to renting your unit again in the future! We are already talking about Thanksgiving, but we don't know yet? Mahalo, Lisa

  What a beautiful week in the most BEAUTIFUL Condo. It is every bit has nice as the picture if not BETTER. To wake up in the morning to the most amazing view, a very private beach with great snorkeling and end the day watching the sea turtle right from the lanai. UNBELIEVABLE!!
