Great place to stay!
Great place to stay!
Peaceful, quiet place in the high country of New Mexico, right near Heron Lake. The house is perfect for two adults with up to two children or two couples. Clean, wonderfully decorated. The owner gave us fresh eggs, they were delicious! Highly recommended for anyone wanting a taste of life away from the big city. The air is so clear and fresh, it rained almost every afternoon. The stars were so bright and beautiful at night. The owner's two friendly and cute dogs visited at times, it was if they just came by to say hello. There is a nearby coffee shop in Tierra Amarilla and a full service store in nearby Chama. We highly recommend staying here!

This is a great place for a quiet, relaxing getaway. The guest house is impeccably clean, the views are breathtaking, and hiking both around the property and around Chama was fabulous! Barbara was great to work with and her suggestions about where to go were spot on.

What a wonderful stay I had at Russell Ranch Casita. The decor was great, the bed so comfortable. I did enjoy the wild life, including the spawning fish. Lake Heron was just a short distance away, with hiking trails. The town of Tierra Amarilla has grown and now provided the Three Ravens coffee house with wireless internet access. I spent three weeks in this house and enjoyed every minute of it. This is a quiet setting for those who desire getting away from it all.
