'Time Out' is the closest cottage to the beach in this family-oriented community of Old Florida Beach Cottages. Brick pavers, white picket fences, and tropical plants greet you upon arriving into this relaxed, friendly neighborhood.
On the ground floor of the cottage you will find the spacious master bedroom with a French door which leads to a front porch furnished with comfortable wooden Adirondack chairs. There is also a master bathroom with a separate tub and shower. Just down the hall is the second bedroom with an adjacent full bathroom. A hall storage area is the perfect place to find beach and pool toys that are there for our guests to enjoy! Upstairs is a large living area with ample seating for everyone. Open the French door and enjoy the breeze and the rustle of the nearby palms while relaxing on the porch just off of the living room. An open kitchen/living room allows everyone to visit while cooking up the catch of the day! A third bedroom with a view of the Gulf is located just off the kitchen with a bathroom across the hall.
Time Out Beach cottage is professionally decorated, very clean and well-maintained, closest cottage to the beach, steps to community pool, and within walking distance of restaurants and shopping!

We stayed at this property on Memorial Day weekend 2013. The property description and photos are very accurate and a good representation of the actual property. When we arrived, the cottage was very clean and well-maintained. In fact, it is probably the cleanest rental we have had in the past 4 years in the Destin area. Renting from the owner was very easy. Everything was handled via e-mail. We could go directly to the cottage when we arrived; not having to got to a rental agency to pick-up a key was great. I really liked the location. I preferred the more laid back and quiet of Santa Rosa versus the more hectic area of being in Destin. The only thing to make it "perfect" would be if the cottage was directly on the beach. However, I didn't mind the 5 minute walk to the beach [you are already on the beach side of 30-A]. The family enjoyed an afternoon trip to Seaside which is a few miles away. I would definitely consider renting this property again.Owner response: Thank you! Your feedback really helps future renters make an informed decision. A clean property has always been a top priority, and it's nice to be complimented on it. I'm so glad you had a great vacation, and thanks again for choosing Time Out.

We enjoyed staying at Time Out Cottage. It's in the front of the community and right down the street from the beautiful white sandy beach! We were there for a wedding and actually had another group of friends stay in another cottage in the same community. They liked ours a lot better. We had the living space on the top floor and this actually made the home brighter. Our living space was a lot larger than theirs and they were envious that we had a large flat screen TV. The owner was nice and very easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again if we came back.Owner response: So glad you had a great experience! We believe in Southern hospitality!

The photos and description of this house aren't nearly as wonderful as the real thing! It had everything we could have wanted including lots of beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, cooler, and beach cart. It is decorated beautifully and very comfortable. The walk to the beach is very easy, the pool is just around the corner, and the little village is very charming. There is a rental store across the street from the village where we rented bikes, and we had a blast riding along bike paths and to the beach. Communication with the owner was always very prompt and informative. We arrived the day Tropical Storm Debby was headed toward the area and we weren't sure we were going to be able to stay. We e-mailed her about getting a refund on the unused nights, and she told us it wouldn't be a problem. She was even willing to meet with us on our way out to give us the refund so we could still do some fun things on our vacation back in Texas. Fortunately, Debby moved away and the rest of the week was beautiful and sunny so we were able to stay and have a wonderful, relaxing vacation. I would recommend this house to my family and friends, and we hope to return next year.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

I've stayed here several times with friends, but this year I took my 68 year old mother who had never seen the beaches of the panhandle. This cottage is adorable and equipped with everything you need. The house is spacious and comfortable. There are several really good restaurants near the house, even some within walking distance. The Old Florida Cottages community is gorgeous and very well-kept. It's a great place for couples, families and anyone else who is looking for a low-key, laid back beach getaway.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We stayed in the cottage the week after Christmas 2011 to attend our daughter's small family wedding on the beach around the corner. We felt right at home and totally enjoyed our visit. The cottage was immaculate and everything we needed was there. The neighborhood is charming and we would love to visit again.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This is our second long term stay at Time Out cottage - stunning accomodations and a 2 minute walk to the beach. Most mornings while walking on the beach we could see dolphins swimming fairly close to shore, just beautiful. The house is within walking distance of great restaurants and shops. Destin is a short drive away with plenty of shopping, movie theatre and great restaurants and Destin Harbour is a great destination for a full day. Panama City is an hour's drive, totally different from Destin but has great attractions; we swam with the dolphins at the Aquarium there. Florida Cottages has a beautiful pool a 1 minute walk away, very clean. It's just perfect for long term stays with family and friends; plenty of room. We hope to visit Time Out every winter. .Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

About: Carol loves to unwind at the beach when she isn't coaching her WNBA Los Angeles Sparks basketball team. The beach has been a place for her to relax since her college Spring Break days. I'm her sister, Martha, and I manage the property for her.
Why Old Florida Cottages:
This area has so much to offer a vacationer...beautiful white sand beaches, water activities, fishing, biking, shopping, great restaurants, night spots, hiking through nearby trails of Pt. Washington Forest, golf, tennis, water sports, boating, just to name a few. If you like art and music, you will be in for a treat at the nearby Gulf Place (within easy walking distance). There is an outdoor art market as well as free outdoor concerts.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
This cottage is within walking distance of great shopping and wonderful restaurants. There is a top-notch bike path for riding over to Grayton Beach or Seaside. The beach access for my cottage is just a 3 minute walk with lifeguards on duty. I love having the pool on days that I just want to lounge and swim!
