  This unit has a five star location and views. But the interior of the condo is desperately in need of renovation and only gets a two star rating.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

  Owner response: We welcome guest feedback and comments. Since our condo is directly on the ocean, we are constantly redecorating and remodeling. Just recently we repainted the entire condo and refurnished the bedrooms. Kitchen has almost new appliances. The cabinet's and counters will be updated soon although in great shape. Our Tommy Bahama decor is loved by all.

  We spend 10 days at the condo and were more than pleased with everything. Views were great with lots of natural light. Particularly nice that it was an third floor end unit with views overlooking the ocean as well as overlooking the park/beach and down the coast. Both bedrooms had lots of natural light and views down the coast as well. Unit and building all very clean as well as the pool, bar-b-que and garden areas. Underground parking was a plus, keeping the car cool and out of the sun when not in use. Unit was close to down town and easy walking distance to lots of restaurants, shopping and out door coffee shops serving 100% pure Kona coffee. Unit was also next door to a small public park and beach making swimming and turtle watching very accesible. The owner was great to work with and we look forward to our next vist and won't consider any other place to stay.

  This is one of the best locations in Kona!!! Right on the water, breezes, turtles, surfers, ease to walk to town!!!

  We had such a great time staying in your condo. Truly the best unit in the Kona Reef (and we have stayed in several over the years). The views are absolutely the best. It is evident your have put a lot of thought into making it comfortable and relaxing place to be. Great to be able to walk to town and the farmer's market. Warm, beautiful, relaxing visit and can't wait to get back. Thanks again

  We have stayed in this unit before and HAD to come back to this unit. Location! Location! Location! It is true; there are ocean views from every room (except the small bathroom) and the unique 2 bedroom, corner unit design permits great airflow for a fitful, comfortable night’s sleep. The unit is equipped with everything you’ll ever need – great beds, lovely furniture, well-stocked kitchen, big screen TV, internet, on-site laundry - we stayed a month! This is the only location in the complex with both a beautiful sandy beach and an ocean frontage. Oh those views from the lanai! On the left… Honl’s beach: a well-patrolled state facility; in the centre… surfers & boogie boarders play in the big breakers of the ‘Kona Reef’; to the right… the bay and the friendly town of Kailua-Kona. Turtles visited the shallows, and whales were breaching & playing less than 600 yards offshore almost every day. The complex is ultra clean, well maintained, and has underground parking, community BBQs and 24 hour on-site security. We used the cabana area for sunning and dips in the pool. The hot tub was spotless, but we did not use it much. At 10PM, everything goes quiet. It is less than a mile to the shops, restaurants and farmer’s market, and we often walked. As you pass the tennis courts, you walk under a row of plumeria trees – the blossoms’ scent is one-of-a-kind and, to us, represents the Big Island and our home-away-from-home. We stayed in this unit when we were married at Anaeho’omalu Bay, and again two years later for our honeymoon. This visit was like our second honeymoon – and we plan to be back in 2012 for our third honeymoon.

  We enjoyed the most wonderful Christmas week at your condo. What a fabulous place! So close to everything...beach right next door, wonderful pool area, and even a nice well-trimmed lawn right by the water when we wanted to feel like we were at the beach but without the sand! It was so nice to be able to walk to dinner at night. Your condo had everything we needed....loved the high speed internet. And the views just don't get any better. We loved watching the surfers, sea turtles, dolphins, and the amazing sunsets. So very hard to leave! Thank you also for being so attentive and helpful. We hope to be back soon!

  Kona Reef was a perfect spot for our family gathering. It surpassed our expectations for view, location, and access to everything we needed. The sunsets were right out of central casting, gorgeous!   We arrived in complete AWE of the location of this home away from home. Everything about it made it a perfect getaway for our family. The sounds of the ocean, the huge sea turtles grazing on the rocks below our windows, the amenities offered in the condo - it was all simply PERFECT and exactly as described. And such a great location in relation to the village where everything was at our fingertips! Not only do we HIGHLY recommend this spot to anyone looking for a truly exceptional vacation... we can't wait to make it our yearly place!

  We had a fabulous time in your condo! Within hours, we were calling it "home." It was the perfect combination of luxury and comfort. We loved being walking distance from the village, but not in the thick of things. It was great to have everything we needed for cooking--even the cocktail shakers for the sunset cosmos!! We would go back in a heartbeat!! Thanks!

  ?From our Guest Book: "We could not believe this vacation condo was everything we were expecting. Waves smashing on the beach were seen from every room. The sound of the ocean was like a restful melody all night and day. Surfers entertaining us all day, dolphins and wales jumping out of the ocean 300 yards out to sea while sea turtles popped their little heads from the surf shore. Some evenings a few net fishermen would cast their nets from the rock out cropping 50 feet away. Magnificent sunsets from our lanai created the vision of faraway shipwreck islands and wonders of disappearing golden sun setting into the silver-blue ocean behind the radiant distant clouds. Even washing dishes overlooking a beautiful peaceful island beach was amazing. Cooking was a pleasure with the fully equipped kitchen and ocean front, pool side, bar-b-ques. We and the kids spent unlimited hours laying around the pool and soaking in the invigorating Jacuzzi. Walking less than a mile along the ocean to the village of Kailua-Kona was irreplaceable. We stayed two weeks this time and plan on a month next time." The Fortunados
