We really enjoyed this studio condo at the Islander on the Beach in Kapaa, Kauai. The ocean view from the deck is gorgeous and the unit felt very private looking out across the lawn to the beach instead of to other units. There is a small kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink. Great for breakfast, lunch and snacks. There are many fantastic restaurants nearby for dinner. The Islander is a smaller, more intimate complex than most. The tropical grounds were impeccably cared for with gorgeous plants and well tended lawns. Although we didn't use the pool, it was very nice and the Sand Bar at the pool was a great place for Happy Hour cocktails and sunsets. The walking path is oceanfront and leads to the nearby resorts and the lively Coconut Marketplace was right across the parking lot. This is a great centrally located place to stay and we hope to come back again sometime.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+.

Excellent experience all the way around from making reservations with the owners to arriving at the location and being pleasantly pleased. The greatest part was the location of the unit to the beach, only a few steps to a beautiful sandy beach. Great property, well maintained, friendly people. Walking distance from a quaint shopping center as well as a larger shopping center with a grocery store. Only downfall for me, the bed was a too hard, possible suggestion, a pillow top mattress pad! :)
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+.
