This comfortable, charming fisherman's cottage is situated on the Housatonic River, and was recently renovated.
Just a short distance from Falls Village Bridge on Rt 7, yet this cottage is tucked away on a quiet private road. Music Mountain is just behind the cottage (8 minutes drive), which offers summer-long chamber music festivals and jazz concerts.
A large living room furnished in a transitional style accentuates the airy and relaxed atmosphere. You will also appreciate the view of the river through the large glass sliding doors. Enjoy the wood-burning fireplace for cozy winter days.
The sun drenched dining area with built-in seating and the colorful pillows creates a warm home away home atmosphere. You can enjoy the sights of birds and the river while seated at the table.
Appalachian and Mohican trails cross the village, and many hiking trails and bike paths are accessible nearby.
You can also take a 40 minutes drive to the Berkshires for a variety of cultural activities such as Tanglewood, The Mount, Naumkeag Mansion, Berkshire Botanical Garden and Rockwell Museum.
The Heritage Walks, garden tours, various summer concerts, farmer's markets and many more fun activities are available during the summer season. The Housatonic River is known for its beauty and is also ranked as one of the 100 best fly-fishing rivers in the country. Canoeing, Kayaking and rafting are also available.
Other activities include horse-back riding, golf, swimming, skiing and cross-country skiing.
Nearby are the New England towns of Lakeville, Salisbury, Sharon and Kent, which offer fine dining, antiquing and gallery exhibitions, all within 20 minutes.
The cottage is also close to Lime Rock Race Park (5 minutes ride).
