The photo is of the exterior of the whole condo complex. The description of the condo says it has a balcony, however the balcony might be 2 feet wide and is not useable as a sitting area. The description says you can walk to the bakery. We drove around and finally found it. It is about 1/2 mile down the road. The description also says there is a market or deli across the street. We never did find it. The first day we got there, we had to call the condo owners to get a few items needed to live in the condo. The condo is sparingly stocked. It would have been nice to have found a few items already in the condo like paper plates and cups, DVD movies, toothpicks, extra pillows and sheets and other things that people use to "live" in a home. It would have even been nice to have a "junk" drawer like we do at home with scissors, tape, etc in it. In my opinion, it is a commercial owned condo that is more like a luxury hotel room with no "extras" than it is an individually owned condo. Lots of beautiful cabinets and drawers with nothing in them. Good news though, I did call them and give them a list of several items that the condo needed and they brought them to us the next day. The internet speed was fast. The beds were comfortable. Beautiful mountain view out the front window. (One tidbit of knowledge: I am from the south where it is HOT in July and everyone has air conditioning (AC). When we opened the condo it was 85 degrees in there. We tried to turn on the AC only to discover the condo does NOT have AC. In fact, most condos in Durango do not have AC. We quickly learned that you open the windows during the night to cool the condo down and then shut the windows and curtains during the day to keep the coolness in the condo. Hey. . . . .it worked! Good to know if you're also from the south.) Overall it was a beautiful condo with a great view! I'd go again, but bring more supplies.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
