Ledfords Landing is a picturesque lakefront retreat in a private setting. This 2600 sq foot lakefront home is spread over two floors. Upper and lower decks boast of views across the lake to Chimney Rock. The main level has a large great room with ample seating that surrounds a lovely stone fireplace. The kitchen/dining area is spacious and opens into the great room. The upper level has 4 bedrooms - 3 of which have a sliding glass door that opens onto a common covered balcony facing the lakefront. The master bedroom on the lakefront has a king bed and its own full bath. The other three upstairs bedrooms share a full bath in the hallway. All of the bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. The two lakeside bedrooms have queen beds. The fourth bedroom has two twins. For additional sleeping space there is a 5th bedroom with a double bed that is located just off the kitchen. There is also a full bath with shower downstairs, which is also accessible from the outside, great for a quick rinse off after swimming. The large covered porch/deck located off the great room provides a great spot to read a book or enjoy the lovely views of the lake and mountains.
If it’s a water experience you are interested in, there are only 20 steps from the house deck to the lakefront over-sized dock with shaded area and ceiling fan. Whether swimming, canoeing, kayaking, or just floating aimlessly in the cool emerald water, you’ll be at ease as we are situated in a quiet “no wake” cove. No matter how you spend your day, you’ll want to be on the 'rooftop deck' over the boathouse in the evening. The water changes from cool green to brilliant gold as the sun sinks over the mountain. At Ledfords Landing, you have one of the best views directly across the lake and up to the mountains that can be found anywhere on the lake (of course, we are slightly biased).
*******We have a 1999 Voyager 21' pontoon boat available at your option to rent with our home! It has a 90 hp 4 stroke engine. It's quiet and no mixing oil and gas! The pontoon rental is $195/day with a 3 day minimum. PLEASE NOTE: In 2006, Lake Lure has passed a regulation that makes it unlawful for boats with commercial licenses (i.e.our guests) to tow skiers or tubes, etc behind the boat.**************
There are several (14) acres adjacent to the house that are perfect for playing baseball or Frisbee, picnicking, or just strolling. It was on this property that several scenes from the movie Firestarter were filmed.
Please note that our home is family friendly. We welcome you to use some items we've kept for your convenience - port-a-crib/high chair/toddler bed/booster seat. Also an ample supply of toys, books and videos. The porch has locking gates to help keep little ones safe and let you relax.

Ledford's Landing was the perfect home for a gathering of old friends! The views are spectacular from dawn until dusk, either from the decks or from the balconies! The home itself was cozy and clean, and plenty big for our group of ten. Everything promised in the description was accurate. The canoe and kayaks were a big hit, as was sitting around a roaring fire in the evenings. Our group can't wait to go back next fall!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We enjoyed every minute in this house and on the property. The open design of the house was perfect for our family. We only gather once a year so we tend to move as a group. It was so comfortable and we spent a lot of time on the decks. Our weekend went too fast but every minute was relaxing and fun for everyone. The children entertained themselves exploring the area and fishing. The guys played golf and a large group had a Blast on the zip lines a couple miles away. There were so surprises ..pictures and information are very accurate. Everyone agreed that this will continue to be our Lake Lure destination in the future. We look forward to next year!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

Beautiful house and great location on the lake with great views. The house is spacious and open. The outdoor livivng areas (decks/ docks/ patios) are great! We had great weather and a great weekend at Ledford's Landing. Would recommend to anyone.Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

All I can say is "PERFECT " It was our 25th wedding anniversary and it was one with great memories. We had a blast in Lake Lure. This Lake House is awesome! Very Clean, Beautiful Setting, Plenty of room. My wife and i arrived on Wednesday and enjoyed the sites and attractions of Lake Lure the first couple of days. On Saturday our Son and Daughter in law arrived with our Grand Kids to surprise us. Had a great time fishing off the deck over the boat house, kayaking and paddle boating. We are already planning a future trip back here and I personally cant wait. Jenny, the owner is great to work with. She kept in touch to make sure everything was going ok. My sister and I, our children, and our grandchildren started our annual family retreat at this beautiful spot last weekend. The house is perfect for our large family. There is so much to do including swimming, boating, playing games, cooking meals together, watching football, etc. The scenery is breathtaking and there are many choices of places to enjoy it. With 5 grandchildren, we never heard a word from them that they were bored. The first thing that commanded their attention was a huge box of toys provided by the owners for kids' enjoyment. The lake water was still very warm for the season and they loved the slide and jumping in from the dock. We want to make this an annual event. Thank you to the owners for a fantastic time.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife and our family of two kids and six grandkids arrived for yet another year in the wonderful home. This is NOT a rental but HOME that you can relax in and feel wonderfully comfortable in. This home and its surrounding lake front areas gave four teen agers plenty to do everyday and was very safe for both of our toddler grandkids as well. If you are looking for a great place to relax that has plenty of room for 10 then THIS IS IT. See you next year for our third year in a row!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our 3 generational family had a marvelous week in your very comfortable home. Ages 1 to 76 have various needs and they were all met! Get away spaces from quiet times on the bedroom balconies to the deck to the ample space in the living room area for all to congregate were ideal. To say nothing of the fun times floating or kayaking. We rented Ledford's Landing for the second time and absolutely loved it. Swam, kayaked, cooked out, cooked in, had a fabulous time! We're coming again in 2012!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+.

My husband and I, our three grown children and two grandchildren traveled from upstate NY and the Atlanta area at this lovely, comfortable home on Lake Lure. It was the first time we were all together in over a year. This was the perfect, stress free vacation! This is probably THE best location on the lake. Views are stunning, especially the sunsets! The 5 bedrooms allowed privacy and quiet place for kids' naps and the open main floor gave us lots of space to get together. We cooked most nights. Kitchen had everything we needed, nice Weber gas grill on the deck and nice supermarket close by. Loved the easy access to deck atop the boathouse and with a 3 year old we really appreciated the safety gates. We rented the pontoon boat for 3 days. Great fun to cruise around the lake.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Ledsfords Landing is a wonderful home with a world class view. My family loved every minute of our vacation from exploring the lake in the pontoon boat, swimming and floating in the warm lake water, hiking, site seeing and mostly just relaxing hanging out with each other. The home had everything we needed and the open floor plan and large amount of outdoor space was perfect for our family gathering. The sunsets are amazing from the deck and even better in the middle of the lake on the pontoon. If you are looking for a fun and relaxing family vacation I can't think of a better place to be.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
