The North Carolina Wildlife Commission Board in December 2012 has designated 2.8 miles of waters in Big Snowbird Creek as 'hatchery supported'. The cabin is located about 8 feet from Creek with trout fishing right in the back yard. It has level paved access yet is located near mtn.biking/ hiking the Snowbird Backcountry Wilderness Area. Great for motorcyclists, sportscar enthusiasts, hikers, hunters and fishermen. Just a short drive to access Lake Santeetlah, marina nearby for boat rentals. Just off Hwy 143 W..close to Joyce Kilmer Forest. Snowbird Mountain Lodge for dining/Cherohala Scenic Hwy 143 W 5 min. from cabin. 15 min. from Town of Robbinsville

This was our second time visiting Big Snowbird. The cabin is clean, well-equipped, well-maintained, and comfortable. The owner is a pleasure to talk to and is very helpful. The cabin is the perfect getaway; pleasantly remote, yet convenient to Robbinsville. The only sounds are the songbirds and the rushing water just a few feet from the deck and screened porch. Minutes from fantastic hikes and great drives. Highly recommended. My family and I had the most enjoyable, comfortable time on Snowbird. This was such a clean, perfectly decorated, cozy, warm cabin. Everything about my stay was perfect. The perfect setting for the perfect cabin. Loved the back deck overlooking the creek. All I can say is I cant wait to back to visit and if you have never been you are missing out.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I have been at big snowbird for over 40 years and I have never been so comfortable as I was at this beautiful place. Every single thing about the place is first class including the owner. I would be perfectly content sitting on the deck and watching this crystal clear stream flowing by. There are many other things to do in the immediate area but I enjoy the beauty of snowbird most of all. Thank you Miss Jan for sharing the most beautiful place in the world with me.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Jan, our stay at your cabin in June was awesome! We loved it so much that we are coming back in Oct. The area is so great and there is so much to see and do. The weather was perfect and I know that in Oct it will be cooler. Hope to have instructions on how to start the fireplace. My only thing to say to others is that this is supposed to be your home away from home, so for goodness sakes, please take the cushions in when it is raining so that the next family won't have to sit on wet ones. This cabin has all you need and it is so cozy. Can't wait until October!!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Very friendly owner and staff. Enviromentally excellent with Snowbird Creek 10 feet from beautiful screened porch and deck. Loft is excellent for children, but hard to navigate after a bottle of Cabernet Savignon. The two bedrooms down are decorated beautifully and the jacuzzi bath is perfect after a day of wading the streams for trophy trout. I have traveled the world, and this is the "Slice of Heaven" that includes top quality area with value and service. 4 visits a years isn't enough for me !!! I must make more time for "Snowbird" Thanks Jan, hope to visit soon!! This location was remote yet accessible to town within a 15 min drive. The location was so peaceful and serene, nothing but the sound of a gentle rolling stream. A true forest get-away, deep in the Nantahala National Forest. Centrally located for Dragon, Lake Fontana, Nanatahala Gorge, Joyce Kilmer State Forest Recreation areas, and Cherohala Skyway. The cabin was a bit on the rustic side but the beds were very clean and comfortable. The master bath suite with jacuzzi tub and sky windows overlooking forest very special. Everything we needed was in the cabin. Aslo very pet-friendly and our dogs loved it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.
