The Junction-backwoods tiny home on brook trout stream with mountain ridge view

Are the backwoods calling? Travel on uneven gravel & dirt to arrive at this tiny home and unique setting with no WiFi. 400 sq ft cabin overlooks "the junction" of two creeks plus a mountain ridge view! 2 mi from paved road w/shallow potholes & rocks. 5" clearance (not 4WD) needed. NOT suitable for motorcycles. Venomous snakes and wild animals are indigenous to our area. USE ONLY our directions and you'll enjoy the adventure getting here!

Logging days of the past used the creeks to harvest timber. Now their roads bring you to this little cabin with lots of white noise. Bring your gear as it's home to wild brook trout or hatchery supported downstream.

Country décor shows logging history in this well-equipped 400 sq ft cabin. Relax on the deck or take a nap in the covered porch. Walk your own private trail that leads to the creek-side deck.

The Nantahala National Forest is our backyard and playground. Bring your outdoor gear for adventure right outside your door. Come "tame the dragon", ride the "Cherohala Skyway" or "hug" a tree at Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest.

Very cute cabin with beautiful scenery all around. It was extremely clean and a great place to walk and enjoy the outdoors. The town of Robbinsville had several great local spots to check out. Communication from the host was excellent and made everything easy. We would definitely stay again.

My wife and I stayed at the Junction for three days, next time we will stay longer. We really enjoyed this cabin and the beautiful location. It is exactly what we were looking for and more. The sound of the river was so relaxing and the little cabin was more than enough for my wife and I. We will be coming back very soon.

We loved our stay at The Junction! Such beautiful scenery and an adorable home…kitchen was fully equipped and home was very clean. We got a late start and got there in the dark which I WOULD NOT recommend; Host gave such detailed directions that we had no problem though. If you want to get away from everything in a beautiful, natural environment, this place is for you!

The Junction was even more beautiful and serene than the listing described. The tiny home was thoughtfully designed, cozy without ever feeling cramped, and every detail reflected care and intentionality. Alice was incredibly gracious and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived.The amenities were plentiful and genuinely useful, from well-stocked supplies to quality utensils that made settling in effortless. The location is a rare gift: far enough away to feel wonderfully secluded, yet close enough for easy access to everything we needed.Being just a short drive from two of my favorite places (Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest and the Cherohala Skyway) made the experience even more special.Honestly, it’s hard to understand why anyone would choose crowded, carbon-copy destinations when a peaceful slice of heaven like this exists. We would return without hesitation and recommend it wholeheartedly.

We're Doug and Alice, originally from Illinois. We missed our creek property and slower lifestyle so we moved into our tiny vacation home upstream from The Junction.

Why they chose this property

We enjoyed sharing our little "glamping" cabin, "The Owl's Perch" (#1891123), so we purchased "The Junction". We remodeled it, cleared the view and gave it a name. We’d love to share either with you!
