The home was built to be LEED certified and is extremely comfortable and efficient. Reclaimed materials and antiques were used throughout. From the antique light fixtures to the original Morris chair in the bedroom, this home exudes functional elegance. Built as a caretaker's residence for The Jocassee Club, (see website - thejocasseeclub) the home was constructed with the intent to provide the comforts of a home with the look and feel of a mountain cabin getaway.
The home features a detached office/laundry that boasts it's own full bath including a marble tiled shower, covered porch, flat screen TV and mini bar. A great place for the kid's to hang out or simply used as another sleeping area. The home is nestled in the mountain situated on the back of a waterfront lot and a short walk from the waterfront. It doesn't get any better on Lake Jocassee if you have a smaller group. The place is perfect. Every residence on the lake requires a hike to the water, and this is no exception. The kitchen is perfect for community meals to be made. Will be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you so much for staying ...and for coming back. We love being in the midst of family and friends while preparing meals in the kitchen.

The rental was very nice and secluded. The home offers privacy with an easy walk to the lake. The property owners/managers were very helpful with any questions we had. The property was very clean and well taken care of. It was nice to have our own dock for boat and kayak use. The lake was down so the dock ramp was a little steep but still manageable The price was very reasonable and we were able to bring our dog along. There was a nice waterfall just a short paddle or boat ride away. Jocassee is definitely the nicest lake in the area. We look forward to renting this place again!! ThanksOwner response: Thanks for staying with us. We definitely love people enjoying this wonderful lake even though we do not regulate the water level. In either case once you have made the transition to boat or land the environs are spectacular. Glad you had a great time - hope you got a chance to paddle across and back. Enough excercise for a whole week for some!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful home. We all were very impressed with all the ammenities and how well the home was decorated. My niece loved the Kinkade print in Master bathroom. I loved the showers! We were all very comforatable for our week's vacation and plan on coming back! Just got to get back in shape to hike up the hill to the house. While we were there, we were able to enjoy a nest of baby birds grow to maturity and fly away. The boat dock was a perfect spot for relaxing and watching all the wildlife. Thanks again, Lynn & TonyRecommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

About the owner: Hi, my name is Bill, long time resident on Lake Jocassee. We are proud to be able to offer this fine home for your vacation and glad you have chosen to spend some time on Lake Jocassee and this beautiful part of our country.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Jocassee:
We have owned a home on Lake Jocassee for over 20 years. When we had the opportunity to purchase more of the extremely rare land, we jumped at the chance. Originally constructed as the full time residence for a live in caretaker for The Jocassee Club, (see website - thejocasseeclub). The home is now available for rental to those who know the special magic surrounding Lake Jocassee. Lake Jocassee is known by some as the Lake Tahoe of the East. With its crystal clear waters and thousands of acres of protected land, there is nowhere else that has the same magic as Lake Jocassee.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Quiet, solitude and togetherness are often the things in our hectic world that truly rejuvenate and draws us closer together. Lake Jocassee offers that in spades, but what we really like about Jocassee Haven is that due to the location of the home on the lot, we never hear lake noise on the few days of the year even when many boaters are out. It is that sense of being enveloped in the mountains and away from it all that makes us love Lake Jocassee so very much and especially a stay in Jocassee Haven.
