  oh what a lovely vacation my husband and I just had at this Summerland Key property! It's a lovely home, the pool is wonderful, the grounds are very well cared for and it's just one comfortable moment followed by another comfortable moment. The kitchen was wonderful for cooking our own meals (think about buying a sharp knife if you plan on doing any chopping) during our 2 week stay, the bed was comfy and we spent hours and hours in the pool and on the dock. My husband fished, we fed the birds (some taking the fish being tossed back) we watched the little lizards and the one large Iguana which traveled back and forth from the other properties surrounding this lovely home. If you are concerned about privacy with this property ease your mind...other than boats going by in the canal...there was never a time that we didn't have total privacy (well we did have the pool dudes and the landscaper woman...but they were there for a few minutes and gone). We had some questions and the homeowners were quick to reply with answers on what we should do. StoneCrab season started on the 15th, we highly recommend buying a few lbs of these daily and consuming them until you don't think you can eat any more crab in your life and then have some more after that....they are to die for. The fish market on Cudjoe (Cudjoe Sales Fisherman's Warehouse) was wonderful, it's under new management since last year when we were there...we are glad we gave them another try, they are clean and have wonderful fresh fish at market price, they were extremely helpful and we got fantastic service. Also...don't miss The Wharf for a BLT (the L stands not only for lettuce but also for Lobster) heavenly!! We had such a restful and wonderful time at this property, the only thing we truly missed was a screened in patio. The heated pool more than made up for me missing my screened patio. We left Summerland Key and this lovely home in the outer bands of Sandy and arrived home to snow....leaving in a hurricane and arriving in a blizzard, gotta love that. We look forward to next year...thank you again for allowing us to stay in your home!

  We've rented homes for the April vacation for years starting out on the west coast of FL then changing the venue to the Keys. The last family vacation, children are grown, was in 2009 at Casa Monte. It was the most spectacular rental and so much more for the price than any previous rental. Don't hesitate to stay here. It's fabulous!

  This is an outstanding property. My family and I just completed an 8 day rental and it was great. This house is a home and not set up like a rental property. Lots of personal touches throughout the home. It is also an exceptionally clean home and appears never to been rented before. Open water views and easy access to both the ocean and the back country. Sitting in the pool and watching the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean was our favorite experience. Easy drive to grocery store, bait, and 30 minutes to Key West. Thanks for great memories and we look forward to renting this property again.

  My family recently returned from spending 11 days at Casa Monte on Summerland Key. Let me just say first that the home far exceeds the pictures and description on the website. This home is immaculate and perfect for a family. We spent hours on the dock fishing and enjoying the views and sunsets. The pool is fantastic and the grounds are simply beautiful. This was our second visit to the Keys and we will definitely return. Kudos to the owner and all those involved with maintaining this lovely property. Our time spent at Casa Monte was one of the most relaxing and pleasurable vacations we've taken in a while. Thanks for helping us make memories that will last a lifetime, although they won't have to because we will certainly be returning.

  We just returned from a stay at Casa Monte in Summerland Key with our college age kids, and it was terrific! The home is spacious, beautiful and immaculately maintained. The pool and ocean front dock offer opportunities for relaxing happy hours and gorgeous sunsets. The pool table provided fun for everyone. Summerland Key is quiet but close enough to Key West (about 30 minutes) for easy excursions out to dinner. The Wharf Restaurant and Boondocks are also very close by, and we enjoyed terrific meals and drinks there. Access to the channel and open water is very direct and easy, and we spent lots of time in our boat fishing, exploring, snorkeling at Looe Key, and weekend partying at Picnic Island. We also swam with the dolphins at Dolphin Research Center in Marathon and parasailed with Adventure Water Sports in Marathon....both were great. All in all, Casa Monte provided a great location for a wonderful vacation. We will plan to stay there again in our next trip to the Keys.

  It was our 5th time to the Keys, renting various places, and by FAR, Casa Monte was the best! The house is beautiful, along with the outdoor entertaining area. We caught fish off the dock, and enjoyed every evening watching the sunset as we tried to capture it on our camera. We purchased fresh seafood from the market nearby and grilled them. First time we ever spent so much time @ the house vs. sightseeing. Highly recommend to anyone.

  We just returned home from a month at Casa Monte. We are in the withdrawl phase and missing our views, sunsets and heated pool! Mike and Jerry have a special place here and made our stay so special with all they include with their home. We felt like we were at home right from the first day which is rare. And the rental agent Cheryl from Action Keys was so friendly and easy to work with too. We rented bikes and rode through the neighborhood and up to Murray's daily. Loved the location and how close it was to Key West yet private and QUIET when we returned home. Thanks for the wonderful memories!!!

  Thank you so much for making this home available for rental! This place has it all - gorgeous oceanfront viewing, pool and dockage for your boat. There's plenty of room to break away from the other guests to wind down, if you need to and kids (or Mothers-in-Laws) love their own 'suite' downstairs. When you stay here, do all you can to have some STONE CRABS! A local helped us in this regard, at first I couldn't understand why they would turn down my favorites, Mahi-Mahi and Lobster Tails... well, it's because they know what they're talking about. Locals don't get too excited for Dolphin or Bugs, but they do about Stone Crabs.... do yourself a favor, try it! I can't express how awesome this place is... you need to find out for yourself! You won't want to rent ANY other home!
