My family and I stayed at Casa Stephens for a week in February. We needed a week away from our busy lives and we received all we had hopes. David, the owner, was incredibly helpful in suggesting restaurants and activities we might like to include in our stay. His conceirge, Barruch, also contacted us prior to our arrivel to plan amenities such as food, etc. While we kept things simple, we had the opportunity to plan and arrange as much as we needed to prior to arrival. Arriving at Casa Stephens, we were impressed with the house and the layout. Its open, very well funished and equiped. The view, overlooking the Sea of Cortez and unobstructed, is jaw dropping! The pictures on Casa Stephen's website simply do not do justice to the incredible view. The combination of the sea view, the peaceful surrounding, and the comfortable, spacious home is really perfect. Add the amenities of close by Esparanza resort and there is really nothing missing. Town is a short enough drive when you want to go....but there is really little need! Hanging out in the infinity pool, sliding over into the spa, sunbathing on the deck, walking down to the beach, playing ping pong, daily BBQs....just priceless for us. Of course, because we were here during whale season, we were able to see whales at all times, literally a few hundred yards away. Barruch was excellent. He's was very courteous and responded quickly to emails and questions. He set up a bunch of restaurant reservations for us. It was just another small thing that made all the difference in how the week was spent. I was also initially worried about the weather in February. This worry was quickly dispelled because every day was in the mid 80's. The nights warm enough not to need sweaters but not uncomfortable at all. Casa Stephens made this the perfect vacation for us and it hooked us on Cabo. I would recommend it highly and look forward to returing. House is absolutely perfect! So nice with tons of extras and an amazing view. The Stephens were great to deal with and the service at the house was great too! Our group (three couples and four kids) recently returned from a stay at Casa Stephens for my husband's birthday. Between the group we have been to Cabo approx. a dozen times and we all agree that after doing it Casa Stephens style there is no going back to the old way of traveling there. From the friendliness of the owners to the amazing service of Baruch, the home's concierge, we felt as though we were staying at a good friend's home. And what a home it is!! Beautifully furnished, comfortable beds, plenty of room, great pool and spa, AMAZING kitchen (perfect for those chefs out there), and the view is spectacular! There is nothing like hanging in the pool with a margarita staring out to the beautiful waters of the Sea of Cortez. Much of what I have mentioned here you might be able to find at other locations but I assure you that you will not be able to find many of the special things that make Casa Stephens so wonderful. I have done a lot of traveling and I have always found that it is the details that take a vacation from good to great, and the owners understand those details. For example, any time you needed something to make your trip better it was available in the home. Every gourmet tool imaginable was in the kitchen- it truly was a chef's delight to cook in there. Games for the kids, ping pong for the adults, amazing sound system outside and through the home. And if it was not there, Baruch did his best to get it to you! I needed an extension cord for my baby's sound machine- no problem, he brought one for me, we needed more tequila and beer- no problem, he brought some more by later that day. Finally to top it off the use of the beach club- gym, lunch, swimming. What a great spot with another fabulous view! We enjoyed our vacation so much and will surely be back!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and friends have just returned from a wonderful stay at Casa Stephens. One word to describe Casa Stephens and our stay there in Punta Ballena...PARADISE! The villa is magnificently located ocean front in the Esperanza Resort and Development. The grounds are perfectly manicured and immaculately maintained. The owner, David, who I interfaced with through our entire booking process could not have been more professional AND helpful. The house was extremely well appointed and equipped with everything you could ever want, need or dream to ask for. It is spacious and comfortable and easy to find. Baruch the "on staff" concierge was always accessible and super with suggestions for activities and restaurant recommendations. I have been asked by many people if we felt safe during our stay. I can say with 100% confidence, safety never crossed our minds! The location is fantastic, 2 minutes to Costco and the Vino Tecca, 7 minutes to downtown and all of the great restaurants. We managed to get everything in that we wanted to do in our seven days, but be assured, we would have LOVED to stay 10! I can't say enough about our experience with Casa Stephens and without a doubt will return again for another stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This villa has the view to die for! It provides an unobstructed view of the ocean, especially beautiful during sunsets and sunrises. The house is large with a swimming pool to match it. We had a family gathering with 11 people and everyone was comfortable and enjoyed the stay. The kitchen and dining rooms are ideal for large dinners, followed by drinks, games and fun conversations. You will enjoy it too!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.

Casa Stephens is simply stunning. The house and service provided were beyond any of our expectations. We recently spent 5 nights there with three other couples to celebrate my 40th birthday. The attention to detail and pride the owners have in their home is evident. I felt the pictures of the home were beautiful, but, you really cannot explain just how beautiful it is until you are there and experience it for yourself. Their concierge, Baruch, contacted me a couple months prior to our stay to help organize anything and everything our hearts desired. Throughout the stay he was no more than a phone call away and provided us the luxury of not having to lift a finger. The daily housekeeping was not just a quick tidy while making the beds. She fully cleaned the house each day, folded any laundry that may have been in the dryer and even offered to finish making my breakfast so that I could enjoy the pool. The Beach club was a quick 3 minute walk which not only has a great restaurant (I recommend their mojito), but also a nice workout facility. We walked over to the Esperanza a couple of times as well which wasn't much further. Getting into town is approximately a 7 minute taxi. We thought we would go into town a lot more but the home and the pool were just too inviting. The owners were incredibly easy to work with and were always quick to reply to any questions we may have had. We would look forward to returning to Casa Stephens.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Three couples stayed in Casa Stephens for my wife's 40th birthday celebration. The descriptions and pictures on VRBO do not do justice to this house. It is absolutely beautiful! You enter the house into the huge combination family room, dining room and kitchen (equipped with state of the art appliances) and a wonderful view of the Sea of Crotez. While there is a lot (with no buildings) and small road between the house and ocean, it feels AND looks as though this house is right on the water. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large, luxurious and well maintained. The beds are extremely comfortable. We spent most of our time in the pool and on the back porch, which is serviced by a Sonos sound system. The infinity edge pool looks over the ocean and is incredible. The conceirege for the house is very helpful and efficient. He arranged numerous activities for our group including our favorite -- In Villa spa services through Suzanne Morrel's company. The spa technicians came into the house and set it up every time like a resort spa! Their massages were the best any of us had ever had (and we have had good massages elsewhere). The concierge also arranged for a chef to come on a couple of nights and prepare dinner. The food was delicious and much better than going into town to eat. The owner of this house is very easy to work with and responds to questions promptly. This house is located in a very convenient location -- only 10 minute drive (door to door) from downtown Cabo but far enough away from the hustle and bustle that you can fully relax. If you want the ultimate vacation, stay at Casa Stephens. It is 5 star personified!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

WOW!One thing I can say is the pictures of Casa Stephens do not do it justice. We recently stayed at this home with a group of friends, and had the time of our lives. It was so awesome to be able to wake up in the morning after sleeping in the most comfortable beds, and being able to step outside and be that close to the ocean. Breathtaking to say the least. The house is immaculate! The staff is wonderful! The location of this home is perfect, and very close to downtown. I will never stay anywhere else again when visiting Cabo! About the owner: They met while attending college and competing in Track & Field for Cal State Northridge. David competed in the Javelin Throw and High Jump and Dianne ran the 10,000 Meters. They both graduated in 1986 and in 1987 moved to Knoxville Tennessee where Dianne earned her Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and David coached and trained UT High Jumpers and Javelin Throwers. Dianne is an ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) certified personal trainer...let us know if you want to take a small group to Cabo for a 'Top Shelf' fitness vacation. David continued his Track & Field career and competed for Adidas and the New York Athletic Club internationally from 1987 through 1996 making several USA teams including 1988 and 1996 Olympic Teams. David, Dianne and their 5 children now reside in Northern Virginia where David sells enterprise class computer storage into the Federal Government and Dianne runs her personal training business.
Why the Owner Chose Esperanza Resort:
In January of 1994, we vacationed in Cabo for the first time and stayed at the Melia. When we left Virginia that January, the temperature was 5 degrees. Needless to say, we needed some warm weather. When we arrived in Cabo, the temperature was 82 degrees and was perfect during the week of our stay. We were so impressed with the friendly people, food, weather, and golf courses that we purchased a time share where we locked-in week one (first week January) every year. Every January from 1994 through 2006, we vacationed in Cabo without missing a single year. After loads of research and visits to various communities, we purchased the perfect lot within the Punta Ballena development to build our dream villa and future retirement home. Our back-yard (pool deck, three bedrooms and living room) faces directly South into the Sea of Cortez and has a complete unobstructed ocean view. Mr. Tom Lehman is our favorite guy in the world because he owns the beachfront lot between our villa and the ocean. Currently, we enjoy our spectacular view due to Tom not building his dream home. Additionally, Punta Ballena offered state of the art infrastructure, security, fantastic amenities and close proximity to the town of Cabo...yet, far enough away. With Cabo Del Sol Golf Course one exit down. This championship layout is praised by Nicklaus himself for having the “three finest finishing holes in all of golf.” The 5th and signature 17th holes are currently ranked among “The 500 Best Holes in the World” according to Golf Magazine. Additionally, Cabo offered close proximity to the United States and we believe that when our children are grown with our grandchildren, they will want to visit us in Cabo because of our weather, location, safety and 5 additional bedrooms. We are looking forward to those days. Now that we have the villa, we enjoy Cabo several times each year. In 2008, we had 8 trips...we just love the place.

From pre-arrival grocery shopping service to private chefs to dinner and golf reservations, our concierge Baruch takes care of our needs while we are staying at our villa. We simply email Baruch with our request and since he caries a IPhone, he responds within 5 minutes. Just fantastic! Unique benefits to our community are wonderful. Punta Ballana is the community where the Esperanza Resort (an Alberge Resort) is located where we enjoy and have access to their SPA and dining facilities. If you pay attention, you might just run into Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox Arquette, Matt Perry, Barry Bonds, Floyd Mayweather, Andre Agassi, Scott Spiezio just to name those who have been on-site in the past few years. Our community also has two tennis courts and a 2 mile nature walking path that is groomed daily.
