Charming cottage in the woods with sunset vistas of the foothills spotted with horses and wildlife . We can't wait to return and will be requesting visits on both sides of Christmas. Quiet, private and serene location with numerous good restaurants nearby. When traveling we prefer and well maintained family run Inns. We were looking for quite, private accommodations which would offer nice views of the surrounding mountains and wildlife. This cabin met and exceeded every expectation we had. In the future we plan to return here four to five times a year as we have children and grandchildren in both Greenville and Spartanburg. The owners are truly charming and attentive to every need.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My 88 year old mother and I needed a weekend getaway and I was so frustrated with trying to find suitable accomodations to come up and explore Tryon, North Carolina. As it is the season of almost peak foliage, everything was booked. I was delighted to find the cottage at Bronze Ridge Road, and it was available for our stay! On arrival at Bronze Ridge Road we slowly followed the well kept gravel road and passed a couple out for an afternoon ride with their horses through the forest. We passed through the woods which opened to lovely fenced pastures with grazing horses...and there sat the Cottage! My mother (recovering from a broken neck and on two canes) mastered the sloping steps up to the cottage without a problem. When we walked into the cottage we found it to be exactly as was depicted in the photos...it was immaculate and so inviting! A sense of peace embraced us both. There was the gift of welcoming banana bread left for us on the dining table...the most delicious we have ever savored! When we were settled, we took a glass of wine to the porch and were entranced with the beauty of the surround of mountains circling around a valley of green pastures. We had been transported far away from life with it's stresses to a secret place we felt was all our own. Kathy and Ric drove down in their golf cart after a while to meet us and get the horses into the stable for the evening. What a charming and interesting couple they are, and we almost felt we'd known them a long time. They made us feel right at 'home'! We spent our days looking at properties and discovering the charms of Tryon and the area. We found the people of Tryon engaging and friendly, and loved the sense of life in a time gone by in such a well-kept and beautiful area. We were amazed at the numbers of amenities available to the public at no charge! This is horse country for sure...Steeplechases and Fox Hunts and all the other trials and trails which belong to the sport. Oh! ...this is certainly an artsy community, as well. In point of fact, one senses there are interests abound for everyone and every age. There are so many things to discover in just a short distance...and we barely scratched the surface! This area is in the thermal belt which realizes cooler summers/warmer winters...the air quality is super spectacular. We took our evening meals at this cozy little cottage just relaxing at day's end. We took happy memories home with a promise to return for more! Thank you K&R!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

Had a wonderful, relaxing time for celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary. We were greeting coming into driveway by a herd of deer crossing driveway. Saw Canadian geese and a red fox.Watched a thundrstorm cross over the mountains while we relaxed on the porch. Ric And Kathy met us at cottage and had a wonderful banana bread waiting for us. They were very friendly and helpful(even offering to help unpack the car) Cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Thank you Ric and Kathy. We will definitely be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

We spent another retreat just for us. Enjoying each other and wildlife. We watched over 20 deer on 3 separate occasions, Canada geese, squirrels and birds. We love the feeling of being so far away from everything, but just being a few minutes away from anything. Thanks Kathy and Ric for providing such a wonderful getaway at such a marvelous price!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

We were greeted as we pulled into the drive by a herd of deer. When we arrived at the house Mrs. Kathy had made banana nut bread and coffee was waiting on us. The house is located at the end of a long gravel drive with plenty of privacy. The location is great. You are 5 minutes away from downtown Landrum and within 20 minutes of breathtaking mountain views. The house is extremely clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children. Mrs. Kathy took the time to let my children feed the horses and play with her dogs. She had put together a booklet that included local sights and attractions. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get - there are no houses nearby and the house is well-maintained. We will definitely be returning!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, age 55+.

Very serene, nicely appointed cottage. Wonderful view of the distant mountains with a peaceful view of the pastured horses. Quiet area to walk and enjoy the nature around the property. I found the cottage a great place to have a personal retreat and I could also see it as a couples' special get-a-way. The owners were very gracious and welcoming and I hope to return in the future and have some more time to enjoy the surrounding mountain areas. Ashville NC is just a short drive away!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

Rented the place sight unseen, except for the pictures on the website. Just what we were looking for, a place with a view. Out of the way, but close to many things. We were just as happy to sit on the porch and watch nature, or wander into a small town and shop/sightsee. We saw 8 deer all total. The horses are beautiful to watch. The quietness and beauty of the mtn view is well worth the cost of rental. The owners are helpful, friendly and allow privacy. I would recommend to any couple wanting to get away from it all and to enjoy each other.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
