Waterfront beach house with more than 100 feet of beach on the Long Island Sound in the private gated community of Scott’s Beach – a vacation by the sea. The height of the home above the water provides gorgeous expansive views of the Sound and there are adjacent stairs leading to the beach below. For those preferring only a few stairs, there is access to the beach with available parking at the western end of Scott’s Beach, a short walk from the home. Privacy abounds as the home is at the end of a dead-end street abutting a ten-acre vacant parcel of wooded land. Built in 1997, the approximately 3500 square foot home has four bedrooms on the upper floor along with a large master bathroom and a family bathroom. The master bedroom has a king bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed plus a queen-size hide a bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. The fourth bedroom has a twin bed and also houses a home office for those requiring space to work while on vacation and a library for those interested in reading a good book. The home sleeps seven in beds and up to eleven if the hide a beds are used. The main floor is comprised of a spacious ocean room/great room with a wall of windows facing out to the Sound, giving the sense of being on a ship. A deck accessed from the ocean room and kitchen spans the entire back and one side of the home for outdoor relaxation above the beach. The main floor also has a den with a queen-size hide a bed, dining room, powder room, kitchen and dinette. For those interested in strictly indulging in the amenities of the home and Scott’s Beach, there is walking the private wooded streets, enjoying the beach at the home or at the beach at the west-end of Scott’s Beach, relaxation on the deck with a delicious drink and a good book or indoor enjoyment of television, board games, puzzles, the internet, conversation or a much-needed nap. Peace and quiet abound. In pleasant weather, listen through the bedroom windows to the ripples of the water lapping onto the shore.

For those interested in exploring beyond Scott’s Beach, within a thirty-minute drive is the beginning of the wineries of the North Fork offering wine tasting and vineyards for viewing, the large Smithhaven Mall, a mega-movie theater, the nationally acclaimed Splish Splash water park in Riverhead, the Tanger outlet mall and Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead, many shops, large stores and restaurants. Within a fifteen- minute drive or less are a multitude of shops, a movie theater, restaurants, grocery stores, ice cream parlors and the famed town of Port Jefferson. The South Fork opening to the Hamptons is approximately forty minutes from the home and Manhattan is approximately a one and one quarter hour drive. Port Jefferson has a ferry to Connecticut and a LIRR train station for westward destinations. The Macarthur airport is approximately thirty minutes from the home. The property’s caretaker lives in the lower level of the home accessed by its own separate entrance.

I have two children, both grown and living in New York City. I live with my little dog, Oreo, and we have fun playing together.
