Marlene calls Villa Star heaven & it is really the "closet thing to heaven anywhere to be found!!! We found everything in the villa to be exactly as she quoted...the furnishings were beautifull, the amentitie & appointments just exactly perfect for our holiday! So much to see and do on the island we found we wanted to spend more time in the villa listneing to the waves crash on the shore! The beds and bedding are superior lushes down comforters and high count thread bedding tons of beautiful pillows! Allof the little amentities she has there are delightful from books and soup to nuts! We are thnakful that we chose Villa Star and wil definitely return!

Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children.

Fabulous view great villa I found the beds to equal that of the finest hotels. I would highly recommend the villa to anyone looking for a fabulous tropical paradise with all of the finest amenities!

A Huge Letdown

My wife & I have been renting through VRBO for the past 5 years--our stay at the Villa Star was by far our worst experience. The apt was in disrepair- from leaks in the windows which drenched the floors, to a barbeque that was completely worthless, ants continually on the counters, an umbrella that should have been throw away long ago, & mouse dropping on the stove upon our arrival. Our beach was littered with trash, preventing any one from staying on it. Many stray dogs roamed the grounds. The web site pictures were completely misleading. We are still trying to figure out where the majority of outdoor shots could have been taken. If we visit the island again, we will stay on the western side. There we will be in the lee of the wind, close to the nicer shopping & dining areas, and beaches that are liter-free with a sun set we can enjoy.

Dear Marlene,Words can not express what my family and I experienced at the villa star in St. Martin. What a wonderful place!!!!!We were all blown away with the villa and the views of the Atlantic Ocean, it really was PARADISE!!!!!!!!!!!!My family and would like to Thank you for all your help, the packet that was given to us was so helpful, my wife hates being on vacation and having a horrible meal, all your restaurants and beaches you had chosen for us to visit was perfect. Every night was better than the last; it truly was a sad day when we left. I will definitely recommend your place to all friends and family. We are definitely coming back, and you will be the first to know when we do. The car rental was a great idea, without the car it would have been very hard to travel on the island, definitely worth the money I spent on it.Again thank you for everything; it was truly our best vacation as a family.Raed, Lisa, Christian & Firas

In lieu of Christmas presents this last year our family chose to take a trip and buy a "memory" instead. We had the most wonderful time in St Maarten and were so happy with your villa. Not knowing the area it was a little daunting to pick a place and hope we didn't choose wrong. After exploring the island it was unanimous that we were right where we should be. Location and amenities were perfect for us and it was so homey that we truly hated to leave. We weren't able to do everything we wanted along with just relaxing, so another trip is inevitable - and this is where we will stay on our next visit. Well we did buy the memory we hoped which was a week spent together in a magical place.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Marlene's Villa Star. The Villa was perfect and the views while lounging on the balcony were just incredible. The grounds and beach were extremely quiet and relaxing which was exactly what we were looking for. But with the island as small as it is there was no shortage of adventures and excitement only a short drive away. Marlene's terrific organization and helpfulness made the trip that much easier and enjoyable.

My wife and I joined our good friends, Tim & Jane, for six nights at Marlene's Villa Star July 19-25,2008. After a week touring the island and visiting most of its 37 beautiful beaches, we all agreed that, for us, we could not have found a more perfect place to stay on St Martin/St Maarten. Its location on the island at Guana Bay, its bright, relaxing and comfortable decor and furnishings were just what we were hoping for. Next door on the beach was the Iguana Grille where John and Johan served up great meals and cold beverages all week long. Regardless of what the forecasts were, the weather during our stay couldn't have been nicer. The beach was clean, the pool and grounds well cared for and everyone we met was like an old friend. As for Marlene, the owner, she went above and beyond the typical call of duty as the Villa's owner with a full package of information, tips and recommendations which really added so much to our vacation. We were fortunate enough to stay in the villa while celebrating our 25th anniversary. Such a wonderful place with wonderful people. We have stayed at a lot of places during our life together.. villa star is the favorite and we will return...

We just stayed in Villa Star April 2008 and loved it. It is very nicely decorated and YES, the beds and pillows are so comfortable! View is excellent, pool and beach/ocean right ourside, stars galore, a nice beachbar with great food right at the end of the beach by the Villas. We spent one week at Guana Bay and the next week at a timeshare on the other end of the Dutch side at Simpson Bay. We much preferred staying at Guana bay. Not only were the accommodations more comfortalbe but there was much less traffic, fewer people and it was easier to get on the road and head over easily to the French side. The villas are not crowed, noisy or touristy, it is in a laid back area of St. Maarten. We had another couple stay with us here our last few days and there was plenty of room for the 4 of us also. Magna and Simon (maid and groundskeeper) are very nice and helpful with information etc. (we had never been to St. Maarten before) It also felt like a very safe area and we certainly had no problems of that sort. I would definitely reccommend this place to anyone and we would definitely go back! Jordan & Fraser Brunswick Maine

We stayed in Villa Star in May of 2008. Everything was as advertised and we really enjoyed our stay. The Villa is adjacent to a very quiet beach and while all beaches in St. Martin are public, we never had more then 10 or 12 people present and a couple of days were completely ours. Guana Bay is out of the way and if you enjoy peace and quiet it is a great place for you. That being said it is also easy to get to some of the more popular beaches and locations. Marlene the owner is a great resource and provides a healthy packet of information with tips that saved us money as well as provided experiences we would have never otherwise found on our own. She is great. I have a few friendly tips. Lobster Night is Friday at the Greenhouse in Phillipsburg (go during happy hour!), the Dutch side honors the Dollar, the French Side Euros so shop in Phillipsburg (5 mins from Villa), Max one of the property managers routinely does a pool side BBQ on Mondays and it is really fun, bring or buy mosquito spray this is a persistent problem away from the beaches where the wind keeps them away but only a minor nuisance, eat the beer-battered scallops at Baywatch on Orient Beach at least once but more if possible. Pyrat Rum = Heaven even though it is blasphemy to say so. Enjoy.
