We took our two boys along with 4 of their friends to stay for the week. Overall it was nice. The views from the condo were gorgeous and it's a nice, quiet beach. The shelling was as good as Sanibel Island. We saw lots of wildlife as we explored the area. I was able to get many good photos of the animals along with the sunsets. However, the mosquitoes were horrible at dawn and dusk. It was difficult to enjoy the outdoors after the sunset. More towels should have been provided at no additional cost. The rental agency wants to charge an extra fee for towels. The kitchen could have also been a little more stocked with dishes as well. The handicapped shower was perfect for our son. It accommodated us quite well and the decor was accurately listed in the description. The boys had an excellent time "jellyfishing" and crab hunting. The older teenagers had to drive to Panama City for more things to do. However, My husband and I were able to relax among the kids and rejuvenate.Recommended for: People with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: At the Dunes Club we have one of the only mosquito eradication systems on Cape San Blas. It automatically sprays a mist before dawn and just after dusk. I was down this weekend cleaning up and I encountered hardly any mosquitoes. However, if the wind blows, it can bring new mosquitoes between spraying times. The rental company only provides bath towels, not beach towels. This is in each renter's information packet. I have never had a complaint about the kitchen stocking, but I did notice that all of the melamine plates were gone. There were ten or twelve of those when I restocked for the beginning of the season. I will add more on my next trip down. I hate that there were any issues. My rental agency and I work very hard to exceed expectations.

This condo was well equipped, especially the kitchen and the "toy closet" in the garage! The kayak was a god send for our "bored" teenager, and we appreciated the awesome, well maintained umbrellas when our easy up got blown away in a storm! (LOL...our fault!) This is not your typical beach vacation, as there are NO CROWDS, NO TRAFFIC, and plenty of beach space for your family. I loved that the beaches and this property are pet friendly too! Our fur babies had a blast for their first time on the beach! The only thing I have to say was a slight inconvienence was that the kitchen was not stocked with some basic home items, such as trash bags, dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher detergent, or sponges, but that was taken care of by a trip into town. Also, the washing machine broke down on us, the air conditioner went out, and there was no gas for the huge grill on the balcony. :( However, the rental agency had repair guys out there within 24 hours to fix the machine and the air. There was an option for us to exchange the tank for the grill and be remibursed, but we didn't choose that option. Overall, other than the few snafus we encountered at the beginning of our trip, we had a wonderful time, and this condo was great to stay in. Well decorated, and we LOVED the professional grade waffle maker! The beach is so wonderful, and relaxing! If this is what you are after in a beach vacation, this is where it's at! We loved collecting shells, and there is a poster in the condo that has all the names of the different shells in the area so you can identify what you found. We loved the natural vegetation and trees in the area, and we felt so secluded. You could literally count the number of people on the beach every day, and it was all families. No party animals, or trash left on the beach. It was so quiet! We left our beach chairs out all week with no worries of them being taken. We also felt very safe, and that our kids were safe where ever they went. You can't beat that peace of mind anywhere else! Keep in mind while you give up the convienence of having a Walmart or grocery store close by, putt putt and go carts and other "touristy" things, you GAIN peace and quiet, no crowds, and nature at it's finest. Thanks for letting us stay at 2B by the Sea! We had a fantastic adventure!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Hate that the A/C wasn't working. I had the air conditioner checked at the beginning of the season and I was assured it was good to go for the season. The washing machine going out was a surprise. With regard to the gas tank on the grill, most guests fail to mention that when they check out. The grill is an extra item that most rental agencies will not fool with. We appreciate your staying with us!

We have been multiple-year renters for this unit. We previously traveled to Destin but found that the prices, crowds, and the poor condition of the units (the affordable ones anyway) were becoming unbearable. 2B by the Sea is honestly comparable to what would be considered a luxury unit in Destin, Panama City, and other similar destinations. The beds are new and very luxurious, the unit is immaculate, and the children's room is wonderful. The video games help out on days where the weather isn't cooperating. The owners seems to always have some sort of positive surprise for the renters each year. This unit is and will remain our home away from home.Did you find this review helpful? Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: The owners are the Smiths from Valdosta, Georgia.
Why the Owner Chose Dunes Club:
The entire area is so beautiful without the big crowds at most other beaches. Nowhere else in Northern Florida can you find such a great beach on one side and a beautiful pristine bay on the other side. Both are truly awesome to behold. We also love the quaint villages of Port St. Joe and Apalachicola where life moves at a much slower pace, great food abounds and interesting shops are found. This is not your typical over commercialized area.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
You get to enjoy one of the best beach/bay areas. A beach where you can still build a fire and enjoy an evening roasting marshmallows with your family or discover the tracks left by nesting turtles. A beach where you can take you pet for a walk or swim. A beach where there is very little vehicle traffic and no big crowds. There there is a bay that abounds with marine life and great fishing. Take time to slip along the gin clear waters in a kayak or bring your fishing boat and fish for the trout and red fish that inhabit the bay. Then during scallop season, snorkel along looking for this tasty little bivalve. Or go offshore fishing either from the State Park ramp, Indian Pass ramp, St. Joe ramp, St. Joe Marina or a marina in Apalachicola. From our condo, everything is easily accessible.
