  • Great Villa, Great Vacation

"The Villa Carolisol is a great Villa to stay at for a vacation. Maria and Jose, did an excellent job with any and everything wr needed. Maria's meals were terrific. The Villa is very spaceous, the pool was nice and was always clean, thanks to Jose. The beach is less then a 2 minute walk from the Villa. The ocean breeze was fantastic from the 2nd floor balcony area. Everyone in my party was completely satisfied with the Villa and its staff. I will recommend The Villa Carolisol to, and for anyone planning a trip to the Dominican Republic"

  • Wonderful Getaway

"We recently stayed in Villa Blanca and had a wonderful stay. The owner was very flexable and laid back with our stay which made the trip less stressful for planning. The villa's help was amazing. The maid was so sweet and cooked delicious and even did our laundry!! The villa was clean and felt very much like a warm cottage home. The beds were all very comfortable as well which is so important! I would definetly stay here again and recommend to friends and family."

  • Haddox-Tarnow-Fagan Family Vacation May 2014

"Up until now I have never wrote a review, so I will do my best to articulate our experience at the Villa. First I will start by saying the staff at this Villa is by far the best I have ever encountered. I surely would use all of the characters in this review to go on and on about them! Julio does a great job of translating and keeping the grounds in pristine condition and his wife, Mercy, is quite possibly the nicest lady I have had the pleasure to meet..... and the woman can COOK!!! Everything that she prepared for us was delicious. We had 2 people in our group with food allergies and restrictions and 1 that is a picky eater but she was able to work within those limitations and create some amazing dishes! We did not book our excursions through Gus. We did not care for him at all and in fact, we were quite taken aback by his cocky attitude and pushy nature. Not only did he show up an hour before his scheduled time, but was quite adamant that we should make our plans right there, without our husbands (they were out walking the beach and touring the bars killing time until Gus was scheduled to come), but upon their return, Gus wanted us to immediately pick our excursions without opportunity to discuss it.... this clearly did not sit well with our group! So, not a fan of Gus or his personality. We did find another tour guide at a local restaurant/bar, and we ended up having a great time for the week touring different things. My biggest suggestion when you rent this location..... EAT AT THE VILLA!!!! first and foremost, no food that we had, including the food down town Puerta Plata, even came close to Mercy's cooking! 2ndly, I got food poisoning from Chris and Maddy's (bad fish! gamble you take traveling off season I guess) and 3rdly, the local Mexican taco joint on the beach charged us 25% tax.... YES TWENTY-FIVE you read that correctly! Total rip off and the food was NOT good at all. About the most enjoyable meal that we had outside the villa was the Italian restaurant on the beach, they had decent pizza, but nothing like our home of Chicago ha! I would choose Mercy's cooking any day over anything offered outside the house. Finally, Mercy was an angel during my food poisoning. The others went on the scheduled excursion and she stayed with me and made a home remedy and checked on me very frequently and did her best to keep me hydrated and cool. We would definitely return and tell our friends. Great place!"

  • Excellent all around!

"My wife and I loved our stay at the suite. The suite is extremely large, clean and luxurious. We enjoyed the large balcony with a couch and hammock. Restaurants, bars, the ocean and pools were a short walk away. The suite was plenty big for two- we had two bathrooms, a kitchen area and large jacuzzi tub. Simply a great space at a great property."

Playa Cofresi Travel Tips

Attractions and Activities at Playa Cofresi Vacation Rentals

Playa Cofresi’s greatest attraction is its beautiful beachfront. The bay is characterized by golden sands and clear blue water. It is a place where you can swim, suntan or take a leisurely stroll along the beach. The many trees provide ample shade and there are numerous spots along the beach that have sporting and leisure activities.

Near Playa Cofresi is the Ocean World and Water Park. Here, you can swim with dolphins in the world’s largest dolphin lagoon. You can also see sharks, sea lions and a wide range of other sea creatures. There is also a unique shark interaction pool where you can get up close to sharks. The nearby Ocean World Casino offers Vegas-style entertainment and gambling. Try your luck at the tables and dine in top-quality restaurants. Eating out in Playa Cofresi is a fantastic experience. Choose from a wide range of cuisines including Dominican style seafood, local meat dishes, and old American favorites like burgers and pizzas.

There are numerous adventure activities offered through various local outfitters. Choose from Jeep safaris through the jungle, horseback riding excursions, go kart racing or whitewater rafting. Along the coast you can charter a yacht and enjoy an afternoon of sailing on the trade winds. For diving enthusiasts, there are spectacular reefs to explore.

Getting to Playa Cofresi Villas

Puerto Plata International Airport is approximately a 30-minute drive from Playa Cofresi. Taxis or private transfers can be easily arranged. If you plan to do some extensive exploration of the coast, you may consider hiring a car for the duration of your stay. There are a number of reputable rental agencies based at the airport. Ideally, you should make your reservations in advance. The airport hosts most major North American airlines on regularly scheduled commercial flights. If you plan to travel in season, be sure to make your reservations well in advance as Playa Cofresi and the surrounding area are very popular vacation destinations.

Pampering and Great Hospitality at Playa Cofresi Resorts

There are only a handful of villas available for private rental at Playa Cofresi. Many of the homes are spacious enough to accommodate small groups, with some able to accommodate as many as 20 people. For this reason, many are chosen as wedding venues. Full-service hospitality packages are sometimes available which include the services of maids, a chef or a house manager who will ensure that you are well looked after during your stay. Most homes have spectacular views out over the ocean and you can enjoy breakfast on the patio or deck each morning. There are spacious living areas that have full entertainment centers for when you want to spend some time indoors. Most likely though, you’ll prefer to spend your days on the beach or out exploring. The villas are conveniently located close to numerous attractions. Transport can be easily arranged through the local taxi service or local outfitters and transfer companies.
