Wonderful location, immaculate apartment
"My husband and I had a marvelous time in Siena. The location was perfect and the food, shopping and sightseeing was wonderful. Siena is one of my favorite cities to visit in our short tour to Italy and should be on your agenda. Luisa was very nice and met with you at the apartment. I would definitely choose to return here when we travel to Italy again."

Wonderful Castle Apartment with Tower Views of Tuscany
"5 stars – Enter the gates to Montefollonico and you’ve entered another world, a world of tranquility and quiet beauty. The town, surrounded by walls built in the 12th century, consists of a few cobblestoned narrow roads lined with old stone buildings with flower boxes. And, at the foot of the walled town sits the town’s castle. This beautifully restored building has been divided into 4 or 5 apartments. John and Wendy’s Tower is the top floor of the castle and includes the rook-shaped tower. The apartment is beautiful with a large living room/kitchen that has gourmet kitchen appliances and French door windows that open to a panoramic view of olive groves, vineyards and Tuscan farmland which seems to go on forever. The two bedrooms contain comfortable beds. And the bathrooms have high-end fixtures. When we arrived, we found that John and Wendy had left a bottle of the town’s wine for us. We immediately climbed to the top of the tower and enjoyed the wine while taking in the sun setting over the countryside. In the mornings, we would go to the town’s market and pick up pastries and eggs and eat breakfast on top of the tower. On some evenings, after returning from daytrips, we would make dinner and take in the cooler evening breezes on top of the tower. When we were in Italy, the country was in the midst of a heatwave. Even though the apartment is not air conditioned, the apartment quickly cooled down in the evenings. Without the tower, the apartment would still have been lovely. But, with the tower, we truly felt like we were royalty. This was the perfect base for a week in Tuscany. But, truthfully, we could have spent the entire week in Montefollonico, hiking in the nearby El Tondo park, eating at the restaurants, and visiting with the town’s vintner. This is a magical one-of-a-kind place."
