  • Sonoma, a perfect place to visit and to stay

"After spending a lovely month here in the fall of 2013, we can’t say enough good things about both this charming cottage and the Sonoma community. The cottage was bright, immaculately clean and fully furnished, complete with washer and dryer. Though lacking state-of-the-art TV or gourmet cookware, it included fast wi-fi, a most comfortable bed, luxurious towels, an abundant shower, sunny, quiet patios and a pool. We’ll stay here again at the first opportunity. Likewise the community was endlessly fascinating, whether walking five blocks (or 25 minutes through the Sebastiani vineyard) to Peet’s coffee near the square, or exploring the town’s markets and shops, or driving north through the wineries (especially on Crush Festival weekend!) or westward to the Pacific. The Larkspur ferry to the City is 30 minutes away, the stunning Weill concert hall at Sonoma State is closer still, and Napa (if you must) a short drive. For years we’ve rented for a month all over Europe, Mexico and California. This is the first place where we’re tempted to settle. Thanks to our gracious hosts for making it so exceedingly enjoyable."

  • Great extended stay, very close to O'Reilly Media Campus

"We stayed in this house for around 10 days while in town working at the O'Reilly Media campus. Luckily, it was an easy 20 minute walk in to work from the house, all on back roads and a bike path, making this house an ideal location for remote employees to stay in while in town. Additionally, you're just a few minutes drive away from downtown Sebastopol. The property itself is quiet and private. The interior of the house is clean and well kept, and spacious enough for everyone to stay in comfortably. The greatest asset of this house by far, though, is the massive deck that wraps around the house on three sides. Combined with the private yard, the hottub, and the generally favorable weather, you'll find yourself wanting to spend as much time as possible outside relaxing and enjoying the fresh air. The owner Richard lives on the property, and we found him to be very friendly and helpful during our stay. He was even thoughtful enough to leave a freshly baked apple pie for us on the day we checked in!"

  • Beautiful Tree House Among Redwoods

"We had an amazing stay in July at this beautiful house. My two teenage boys loved this house as did my husband, mother and we brought our two dogs as well. The windows are amazing and add so much light. It is so wonderful looking up and seeing the beautiful redwood trees around you. It reminds me of a tree house surrounded by redwoods. This house has everything. I could have shown up with just my toothbrush and some clothes. The amenities are of excellent quality. The outside deck has great views and is very private and spacious. The hot tub felt great in the evening and was extremely clean and seemed brand new. The kitchen has great pans and cooking utensils and outdoor BBQ was perfect. The beds are super comfortable and have excellent linens. The area is very quiet and relaxing and we used the kayak and one of the canoes. When you are out on the river the view is picture perfect. The house was extremely clean and very organized which made it easy to find things. The house is very spacious and the rooms are nice and private if you need them to be. There is a bedroom that looks out to the river and the slider opens up to the deck which is fabulous for drinking your morning coffee. Heidi the owner was very easy to communicate with and was very prompt on all emails. Her instructions on the house are very detailed and easy to follow. This was such an easy transaction. There is a great notebook for guests in the house that has a ton of information on the house and the area. There are wineries close by and lots of restaurants in town and everything is very easy to get to. There is so much to explore in the area. We would not hesitate to come back and stay at Moon River and would definitely recommend it! I am already trying to plan my next trip!"

  • Fantastic Home!

"Myself and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay here. Our neighbors/landlords, John and Tammy, were very friendly, caring and helpful. The home had all the amenities we wanted and needed. I was working for a winery in Santa Rosa. The scenery immediately south on my Hwy. 101 commute is excellent and one of my favorite parts of Sonoma. My wife was completing her PhD and appreciated the amenities and friendly folks of Cloverdale. Tasting rooms with top-notch wines were 5-10 minutes away. The wineries and vineyards at the edge of Cloverdale, from Dutcher Creek Road to Dry Creek Road, offer fantastic views and potential tastings for weeks. Cloverdale has numerous shops (local artist oriented), stores for basics, a coffee shop, and many restaurants (we recommend 101 Thai Way). The shops in Cloverdale are complimented by the shops in nearby Healdsburg. Also, the Pacific and great parks are within an hour's drive away. More importantly, the flat was a great place to live, work, and experience all that Sonoma has to offer. And we would return just to have John and Tammy as neighbors again. Simply, a fantastic home!"
