  • The Brady Bunch

"We recently stayed at the Oleander house during our Spring Break. We could not have been more pleased with this rental. The house was beautiful and the location was perfect. With 5 kids in tow, I could not have been more pleased with the abundance of beach chairs, toys, games and towels. Was also thrilled to find the house stocked with daily items I thought I'd have to provide as I've done in the past with other rentals. A close walk to many beautiful locations ~ morning sunrises, adorable coffee house, nature abounds, everywhere we looked. Only the lack of a hot tub would have given this home 5 stars."

  • Wonderful

"This home is just wonderful. We had 4 generations staying there together. The home is extremely well equipped with kitchen items for dining and cooking. The huge dining table fit the 7 of us very comfortably with room for more. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are beautiful. Lots of towels, cleaning supplies. The upstairs patio is directly over the pool area and it is all screened in. The downstairs pool area is great with lots of seating and the game room next to it has gaming tables. It is about a 2 block walk to the gulf in one direction and the bay in the other. It's a quiet residential type area but just a short bike ride or drive to the main town area. There were at least 8 bicycles available. We had a great family stay here. The only caution I would give is that if you have trouble with stairs, this is probably not the place for you. You have to use stairs to get into the living areas of the house."

  • Love Spoonbill Hideaway!

"This was our 4th trip to Anna Maria and our 2nd stay at Spoonbill Hideaway. You can't beat the location, the house and especially the back yard and pool area! Comfortable beds are important to me when I vacation and the "no stairs" is definitely a plus. Melanie is very accommodating!! We are already starting to plan next year's trip and hoping it will be at Spoonbill Hideaway."

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Anna Maria Island

"Our group of four familes (seven adults and seven children ages 6 to 14) thoroughly enjoyed our week on Anna Maria Island. Matt met us upon arrival, showed us how to operate the spa heater and pool cirulation system, and then gave us a great introductory tour with the boat (both to get to know the boat as well as the lay of the intercoastal waterway, the bay and the ocean). The boat may have been the highlight of trip; we enjoyed getting out to remote sandbars, anchoring off the beach, and at least one of us was almost too close for comfort with a manatee. The beach was a comfortable distance from the house, and the proximity to the house to Publix, the marina and City Pier was great. The house itself was quiet, great for relaxing (by the pool, on the screened-in porch, or in the living room), plenty of space for our group. It was also comfortable for cooking and in-home dining; we ate all our meals at the house except for the day we ventured to St. Petersburg, and the two times we at The Waterfront Restaurant (which I cannot recommend enough; do try the shrimp and grits). As a previous reviewer noted, the condition of the house is a little worn, but when you are traveling with children and all that you want to do is relax, sometimes it's a good thing not having to worry what a child may have inadvertently broken or knocked over. But other than a bicycle crash or two, our stay was without incident. We ended our stay as one big group watching The Secret Life of Walter Middy on the big-screen TV; what a great way to end a vacation. Final item - around a half an hour into our drive home, my youngest realized that she had forgotten her blanket at the house. Matt was kind enough to mail this back to us and I am very greatful for this kind jesture."
