Well-equipped cottage in a convenient spot
"Our family of 3 just wrapped up a nice visit to this Cape Cod cottage. It really looks just like the pics in the profile - and what you don't see is great, too. There were tons of little niceties in almost every nook - kites, sand toys, beach chairs, coolers, umbrella, emergency rain ponchos, toiletries, first aid kit, etc. We walked in and enjoyed the welcome basket and chalkboard welcome message. Our five-year-old son loved his room with all the stuffed sea animals and pirate's treasure chest waiting for him. There was a great bookshelf that included great books and games for us to enjoy during our stay as well. We walked down the block to the beach several times - low tide was great for exploring with the nets that were provided by the cottage owners.
We also took advantage of the proximity to the marina and did a whale watch trip - spotting about 12 humpback whales - and enjoyed walking over to Osterville Fish Too to enjoy a classic fish shack-type lunch. (We bought live lobsters there, too, and used the in-cottage lobster pot to cook them for dinner.) The owner had shared a discount deal on LivingSocial.com with us - so we were able to save about 50% on that sightseeing trip. The location of this cottage is ideal to explore the entire Cape - and I liked that we didn't have to drive forever to get there the first day.
All in all, great trip and cute place. I liked staying somewhere that had been featured in This Old House magazine. It was like they did what I would like to do someday in transforming the place into something really quaint."

"This house is really lovely with a ton of charm and character that you would expect to find in a well maintained older home. There are quite a few activiites for kids while at the home- a swing set, playhouse/fort, and sandbox loaded with sand toys. The front yard is spacious with a large grassy area for flying kites or playing baseball. And of course- a large roaring fire pit for smores including a nice stock of firewood and kindling! We spent one entire afternoon of our 3 day stay just playing in the yard and everyone was happy! The bedrooms are on the smaller side with slanted ceilings from the dormers, so 'buyer beware' if you are over 6'! As is to be expected in a vacation rental home, you aren't spending much time in the bedrooms, so it was not an issue for us. The beds are quite comfortable and there is ample closet space for storage. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the amenities you would need to cook a basic meal at home. We had a really lovely long weekend stay and would certainly consider coming back in years to come! Thanks, Miriam & Craig!"

"The house was in a convenient location, with easy access to the beaches in Osterville. The five-bedroom layout worked well for our group, and Annie was really helpful answering questions about the area. Highly recommended."

Perfect Rental for Families with Infants or Teenagers
"Grand Dad and Mimi, daughter and son-in law, and 17-month old grandson had a great stay at this Perfect Vacation Home last week. We live in Florida and wanted to take a family vacation to Cape Cod and other surrounding historical landmarks before the Beach Season began. House was perfect for us. Hyannis has to be the most centrally located place to stay on Cape Cod as easy to get to Woods Hole on one end and Provincetown on the other. House is centrally located for all activities in and around Hyannis. Ferries are short driving distance away, although would suggest going to Woods Hole to catch ferry for Martha's Vineyard to save $56 Roundtrip per person. We were overwhelmed by the way this house had everything we needed to make our stay a most wonderful family vacation. Each bedroom and the living room has a TV and DVD player and there are more movies available for all ages than one can see in a week. Having a crib for our grandson was such a convenience. There are so many toys for all ages that its hard to believe. The basement is an entertainment mecca with pool table that converts to ping pong. Our grandson had a blast. He especially loved running around in the fenced in yard and playing on the slide. The patio grill works great. We mostly ate breakfast and half our dinners at home. You will be glad you rented this house....we are!!!!"
