  • A Lot to Like - $1,000,000 View

"There are a lot of positives about this cabin - the biggest being the location right on Lake Superior (Whitefish Bay). It is a beautiful view with a great opportunity to watch freighters passing both up and down through the locks at Suite St Marie (a telescope is provided for your viewing pleasure). The cabin is older and not spacious but is cozy and comfortable. It is fully appointed with everything you need for a stay except sheets and towels which you must provide unless otherwise agreed to with the owner. The cabin will sleep four with a double bed and futon. We used the double bed and found it quite comfortable. I would recommend this cabin for a couple or small family, especially in the summer time. The view from the deck is great, there is an opportunity for both and outdoor fire and/or a fire indoors in the fireplace if needed to take the chill off. We visited during October so it was too cold for swimming but my past experience in the area is that this beach has some of the warmest water on Lake Superior and the beach is excellent for shallow wading close in and for serious swimming a little further out. Overall I would recommend this vacation spot with confidence."

  • Perfect vacation...

"As parents of a 6 yo and a set of toddler twins this beautiful beach home couldn't be any more perfect. The images do not do it justice. It has everything that you need to spend a week in comfort with a beautiful beach right out your back door and a spectacular view. We will certainly return."

  • Rock Cut Cabin in March

"My wife and I (and our 4-year old St. Pyrenees) spent a week at the Rock Cut Cabin. In a word: AWESOME. The description of the cabin by the owners is exact. What you read is what you get. First, the location was awesome. You can see Lake Superior from the living room sofa. And you can see the city of Marquette from the porch (didn’t use it much since it snowed 4-7 days). Also the noise level was not bad at all. I was initially a bit concerned about this, but it simply was not an issue. Last, the cabin is a couple of miles outside of the city of Marquette, which was nice. One could jump right onto a path across the highway and walk, bike, or snowmobile right into Marquette. Second, the actual cabin was awesome. Importantly, everything worked well during our stay. For us, the best part of the cabin was the fireplace (we used it 6-7 nights during our stay). It works well and doesn’t smoke up the cabin the least bit. Next were the sleeping rooms. Although we only used one bedroom, the mattress was very comfortable. Everything in the kitchen and bathroom worked top notch (water pressure was good and plenty of hot water when needed). Last, the technology worked well (wifi, cable, and DVD player). My wife and I returned home each evening to enjoy a fire and movie (there is a Redbox 1.5 miles away at the Holiday Gas Station in Harvey, MI). As I stated our time at the Rock Cut Cabin was awesome! I can only imagine that spending a week here in the summer would be twice as good (we are planning this endeavor)."

  • Very comfortable - so much to do!!!

"Our family spent a week at the Heidi Haus in July and had a great time. The cottage is clean, very comfortable, well-stocked, and has the creature comforts of nice beds, laundry, bath, and kitchen. Pictures are accurate. Loft is really large, and kids enjoyed having their own space up there. We enjoyed walking along the beach every morning - and noting the changes in shoreline from the day before. We used the owners canoe in the bay; caught smallmouth bass in the Menomonee River, and some smaller fish in the Cedar River; went bike riding; visited the DeYoung Zoo; went swimming; and had a fire out on the beach. We also brought our ATVs along - there are some really wonderful trails in the area, and we seldom crossed paths with other riders (you can trailer 4 miles to a trailhead, or ATV right off the property - just can't use ATVs on M35). Owners were very helpful in directing us where to register our ATVs in Michigan (only 4 miles away); where to fish; how to get to zoo; etc. For this mom, it was a great alternative to camping - we could do all of the same things, but had access to the comforts and conveniences of cottage."
