"Ted and Lynn are wonderful hosts and their cottage was clean and comfortable. Everything previous posters listed are spot on. We arrived to find a welcome note and a basket with all the fixings for s'mores! Nice touch. The cottage also was well prepared with papertowels, kleenex, and toilet paper. Some cottages we have stayed at didn't have these items. The view of the lake every morning and at sunset is stunning. We saw some very beautiful sunsets. We used the row boat for fishing and did catch a nice size bluegill and a smaller pike. The lake always had several fishermen on it so it seems the fish are biting. We got groceries in Marquette on our way in but the local store about 10 minutes away (Larrys) was well stocked too. Drugstore next door handy as well. We had to find a doctor during our stay and the drive to Marquette to the urgent care was only 30 minutes and easy to find. Day trips to Escanaba and Pictured Rocks are also within reason. Hiking Pictured Rocks is a must!! We biked the Iron Ore Heritage trail and to be noted is that going from Marquette to Negaunee is up hill all the way.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this cottage and would highy recommend it. It's spacious enough for a couple and two children in our opinion but two couples could be fine if one likes to sleep on a fold out sleeper sofa. I enjoyed having that space open for my quiet time reading in the morning while overlooking the lake."

"My husband and I just spent a week at Cedar Loft and it was perfect! The sandy beach and clear water were very inviting, the sounde of the waves hitting the beach and the fresh cool lake air blowing through the windows was magnificent and made for a wonderful sleep.
Our hosts Diane and Glen provided everything you could possible need including a welcome gift of fresh baked bread and fresh eggs. The loft lacks for nothing and as other guests indicated, the photos do not give it the full credit it deserves. You need to visit to appreciate it.
The peace aand quiet the beautiful landscapes overlooking Lake Michigan make this a perfect place to vacation."

"Spent 4 wonderful relaxing nights at the Black Bear Cabin! What a wonderful experience! The amenities, location and overall setting was fantastic. If you truly want to experience a rustic, up north, UP Michigan experience, then definitely consider staying at the Black Bear Cabin. We will definitely be back!!! The Keweenaw Peninsula & Houghton / Hancock area is very cool!"

"Like one of the other reviewers, I'm almost hesitant to leave a review... it's like giving away a secret family recipe!
We've stayed at the cottage 3 years, and it is one of the highlights of our summer. We go early in the season, do the water is still cold, but the kids enjoy the beach for hours and hours. It's close (by Keweenaw standards anyway) to all the things we love to do. The sunsets are amazing, and the sunrises, too, if you can get up that early! The rates are very reasonable, and the cottage is well appointed for a UP vacation (so don't plan on cable TV and wifi!)."
