Peaceful villa on the sugar sand shores of Big Glen Lake!

Driftwood (Glen Craft Villas)

In a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of sunshine, Driftwood is ideally located with warm prevailing southwest breezes to our sandy beach and cooler north-westerns over our treetops. Surrounded with Michigan woods, right on the crystal clear waters of Big Glen Lake, yet located 1/2 mile from Glen Arbor and about 2 miles from Sleeping Bear National Park Dune climb this is the perfect spot to enjoy days at "home" and days out exploring the local area.

Smooth, softly sloping sand leads to Glen Lake, just outside your door. Children love it, and adults can relax alongside them. Children can even wade all the way to the anchored raft. We also have a lakeside firepit with log stools, a dry sauna, small laundry facility, tennis court, row boat, paddle boards, shuffle board court, beach chaise lounge chairs, basketball, and archery range. The very large beach is shared with two other villas but never crowded.

Driftwood features a full kitchen, combined living/dining room with wall of windows for pristine lake views, fireplace and vaulted ceilings, a full bath and three bedrooms: one with a queen size bed, one with twin bed, and one with built-in bunk beds. There is also a pull out queen size sofabed.

This listing is for our Driftwood Villa. We have additional villas available for rent listed on VRBO.

Furnished/Unfurnished Items:
Cable TV and wireless internet provided.
Gas grill and beach chaise lounge chairs.
Fully furnished kitchen is complete with range/oven, coffee maker, microwave, and toaster. Blankets and pillows are furnished. Kitchen soaps & bath soaps provided, but no shampoo. Linens and towels can be provided at an additional charge.

Reservations are confirmed only by advance deposit of 50% the total amount.

Check-In/Check-Out Check in anytime after 4 p.m. Friday, and check out is 10 a.m. Friday promptly.

Pets - In order to honor reservations, we request that all pets be left at home.
No Smoking in Driftwood or a fine of $150 will be assessed.
Must be left reasonably clean to avoid a cleaning charge of $150.
Visiting Guests are welcome for 1 or 2 daytime visits, but not daily.
Cancellations within 60 days are honored if the time of booking is re-rented.
Reservations begin January 15th every season. Available May-October.

Perfect Location

The cottage is older, but well equipped with everything you’ll need for the week and impeccably clean. Chris, the property manager was available and always helpful. The location is what truly made this stay shine. Walking distance or a short drive to Glen Arbor’s downtown. A quiet, secluded part of beautiful Glen Lake with its own private beach. A short drive to Sleeping Bear and also Pyramid Point, Leland, North Port and other great up north cities. We would definitely stay at this location again.

This cottage gives you the memories you had of your childhood with your family staying at a cottage on the lake. Is is quaint and had plenty of room for our family. Watch for the note about towels and sheets though.

Our family had such a great time here at the Driftwood Cabin. We had the best time taking advantage of the kayaks, paddle boards, fire place and sand toys all provided. Christian is the best host and went over and beyond to make our family feel comfortable. 10/10 for our first family vacation as a family of 5. Can’t wait to return!

Family vacation

We had never visited Michigan before this and absolutely fell in love! This little cabin is in a beautiful spot with fun things to do right there on the lake, like use of paddle boards and other water toys and kids loved playing pickle all and basketball and we all learned shuffleboard for the first time. Peaceful and beautiful location, great for families or couples!

Awesome setting

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Access to the beach and other activities was right out the door. Manager/owner was helpful and very friendly, also quick to fix our one issue. (propane tank ran out of gas, replaced within 5 minutes) We would definitely return!

This place has it all

We had such a great stay at the Driftwood cabin. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable. Even though the weather in early June was a bit chilly for much lake activity, there was still plenty to do to keep our 3 teens busy, happy and off their phones! The lovely town of Glen Arbor is within walking distance, yet the cabin was very quiet and and restful. I could have just sat and enjoyed the lake view all day. Chris was very helpful and available. We would love to return.

Perfect location

Our family has a lovely time at the Driftwood cottage even though the weather didn’t cooperate. Chris is incredibly helpful and friendly, he went out of his way for us and we really appreciated everything! We got to enjoy the beach/water the first day but the rest of the time was cold and/or rainy. Fortunately there is a pickle ball court that we were able to use and we made great memories. The cottage is close enough to walk into Glen Arbor so we did that and went on a hike at the dune climb. The cottage is super cute and had everything we needed. Lots of time spent playing games and being together as a family which we value as our kids are getting older. The beach frontage is beyond fabulous and we would love to return to enjoy the lake and sun at some point!

Amazing property & location

You can’t beat this cottage property, the location, or the hospitality of the host. The lake/beach area was a dream (we used the stand up paddleboards, shuffleboard, picnic, and beach area often). You are super close to town, and the property itself was exactly what I was hoping a beach cottage would be. It had all the amenities we needed, was spacious, and we were incredibly comfortable. The host was super friendly and accessible. Perfect vacation destination.

Wonderful relaxing family vacation!!!

We had a fabulous time here with our two young kids! Our cottage was very clean, comfortable, and was fully stocked. We loved being able to walk right out to Big Glen Lake. It is crystal clear and absolutely stunning! The shuffle board was right out front that we played daily. We really enjoyed the paddle boards and paddle boat. So much to do right at the resort but so close to town and the dunes. Also, the owner Chis is so nice and incredibly helpful. This is one of our best vacations! We will definitely be back!!!

Driftwood is part of Glen Craft Villas, which has been family owned and operated since 1947. It is meticulously designed and maintained for guests. While my grandpa Krull purchased this property from the sawmill almost 100 years ago, the other grandpa Field was a legendary architect in the area and designed some cottages after Frank Lloyd Wright. We are the 3rd generation hosting visitors here. We have enjoyed watching families grow up summer after summer here at our villas on Big Glen Lake.
