Ideal Location; Great House For Extended Family Group!
We really enjoyed our stay with our 3 children, their spouses and our 3 grandchildren. House was ideal for us.
The house has plenty of common space as well as 7 separate bedrooms for private space. The kitchen is well-appointed for those few meals we chose to prepare at home.
Location was perfect for walking to various restaurants, bars and parks. We even walked right across the bridge to Goat Island for lunch at the Marina Cafe one day. For some meals, we took advantage of food delivery and ate outside under the pergola.
Host was very responsive and kind to us. We highly recommend booking this property in the heart of Newport.
Great historic house, great location, great host. Walking to Thames Street, across from a nice park, charming historic house, meticulously restored, updated and furnished.
This is a lovely restored home in a perfect location in Newport. Sarina could not have been more accommodating! We were right next to the harbor and a short walk to restaurants etc.
Really Cool house with a lot of great history. The home is warm and inviting. Perfect place to host a diner party and invite friends for a retreat.
Owners are very professional and take great care with accommodations.
Close to town and walking distance to most locations. Cute Park with decent water views. Shipyard is across the street.
The Potter House was exactly what we needed for our annual trip to Newport. The house was better than advertised and worked really well for a me and my co-workers and some of our families. The place was clean and everything worked well - including the 2 washer and dryers in the basement.
The location was ideal on our daily trips to Fort Adams and all the bars and restaurants that Downtown Newport has to offer are only a short walk away.
Can't wait to come back and stay there again soon!
The captain Simeon Potter house is a true joy! The owners could not be more nice the house is beautiful and you or a five minute walk from all of downtown Newport. Beautiful home, meticulously maintained and full of history that completes the Newport experience. Absolutely no comparison to staying at one of the standard hotels. Do not miss a chance to stay here, we did as a family for my husband‘s 50th birthday and it elevated our time in Newport to a completely different level! Enjoy!

Lovely Old Home
My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Potter House. A very walkable distance from the busy downtown waterfront of Newport, the house itself is in a quick spot with a fenced-in back patio/ yard area that was perfect for chatting over morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
The owner is very attentive and available should you encounter any difficulty with getting in, require parking passes, or are looking for recommendations in the area.
We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful House
Our group loved the house! The hosts were in constant contact and made our group feel more than welcome. Amazing location near the water and town. Great place to relax w. outdoor space and many, many bedrooms in the house. Kitchen is very lux and the common areas downstairs are well appointed with beautiful, classic furniture.

What makes this property unique
NEWPORT BAY VIEW HOME Guests have access all areas of the property; head outside...The Danish concept of hygge is about enjoying an atmosphere and ambient sense of coziness by capturing the simple pleasures of life. The privacy of the garden provides this space for closeness and within the pergola is seating for close-knit conversation and delighting in the divine creations of farm to table. The surround is a theme of refreshing green foliage, add a water trickle to encourage mindfulness and now you have hygge; think of it as a bit of your childhood. This will be a magical surprise
